So it's that time where I share with you the makeup I've been reaching for lately. Despite my lack of self control and buying lots of makeup recently I feel like my makeup has been a bit repetitive, so apologies in advance...
Rimmel Insta Flawless | £6.99
So this is the first product I feel like I've been raving about! But this really is amazing and cheap, I just can't enough of it! Its a tinted primer thats adds a little bit of coverage, but the finish is what I love! It gives an amazing radiant, glowing, smooth complexion. And for that reason it's been my go to.
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue | £26
Despite having more foundations than I care to admit I always seem to come back to this. It has good coverage, the most amazing glowy finish and pretty good staying power. The formula is a tinted moisturiser hybrid making it perfect for the warmer months.
Seventeen Skin Wow concealer | £4.99
As drugstore concealers go this one is the up with some of the greats. Its has a good medium coverage, highlights the under eye area and doesn't crease. I've also heard this is good dupe of the famous YSL Touche ecat. I don't own that one (yet) so I can't say whether it is, but it is a very very good, affordable concealer.
NYX HD Finishing Powder | £8
This too has made it into a few posts recently (see this post here) because it's an amazing setting powder! Regular readers will know how I struggle to find a powder that isn't too drying for my skin, or leave me looking flat. This one doesn't do either. Its so finely milled and melts into foundation setting it without compromising the finish. It's also slightly yellow toned, to add brightness, but it doen't leave a yellow cast on the face! Amazing to some it up.
MUG Contour pan | £7.95
This is seriously one of the best contours I've ever used. The shade Half Hearted is perfect for my skin tone. It's ever so slightly warm toned, which I like - cool tones tend to look dirty on me. And the formula is butter soft and applies smoothly just like their shadows.
MUG Blush Pan | £7.95
I'm loving glow-y skin and this gives the cheeks a gorgeous glow. The shade Romance is a lovely Pinky, Peach with shimmers running through it. And in true MUG style the formula is second to none.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed | £32
This highlight in the shade Opal is one of the best formulas ever. This takes the term butter smooth to a whole new level! And it gives skin the perfect, champagne toned shimmer.
Morphe 12s Palette | £11.95
For eyeshadow I've been reaching for this beautiful little kit from Morphe. It contains 12 Brown toned shimmers, ranging from Coppers to deep Burgundies. All the shadows pack a punch in terms of pigmentation, apply smoothy and last all day. My only issue with this palette is there are no mattes.
MUG Shadow Pan | £4.95
As the Morphe palette has no mattes I've been reaching for Makeup Geek Creme Brulee and Cherry Cola. Creme Brulee is a beautiful, mid toned warm Brown. My perfect transition colour. And Cherry Cola looks Purple in the pan but I find it translates to a Reddish, warm toned Brown.
Morphe Brushes | £5.50
To apply shadows I've been really enjoying the Morphe E28 and E27. The E27 is a large, domed, fluffy brush. Its perfect for applying crease shades, or blending all the shadows together for a seamless look. The E27 is similar only slightly smaller, making it perfect for the outer v or apply a crease shade with more precision. Both are super soft, not scratchy and wash brilliantly.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascare | £7.99
Love, Love, love this mascara. It curls, lengthens and holds the curl all day, without becoming flakey or smugding. Just an all round brilliant mascara!
Soap & Glory Lipstick | £9
See this post for more information on the new line of lipsticks from Soap and Glory. The shade Cinnamon Beige s quickly become my go to lip shade. Its the perfect Brown nude, that goes with almost any eye look. The formula is matte, yet comfortable and stays put for good 4 hours.
So thats the makeup I've been reaching for. Whats yours? Have you tried any products mentioned here?
Until next time...
