So tomorrow I have my first wedding of the season. Well, you'll be reading this on Sunday so I would have already been. So I thought I'd share with you the makeup I plan on wearing and hopefully give you some inspiration...
Becca Backlight Priming Filter | £32 POST
For primer I want something thats going to give me glow and help my makeup stay on all day. Because weddings are a super long day so fading makeup will not be ideal! This primer is brilliant, it really does give a filtered glow to the skin, without any glitter.
Urban Decay One & Done | £25 POST
This foundation is perfect for long days. The staying power is incredible. This is described as a sheer foundation, but this definitely has more coverage than a sheer base. The coverage is also very buildable. The finish is satin and when teamed with the Becca primer, they give a lovely, subtle glow to the skin.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer | £17.50 POST
When it comes to events I want a concealer I can trust. So this is what I reach for. Its a great all round concealer that covers belmishes, dark circles and highlights. The formula is brilliant, it doesn't crease, crack, fade or smudge.
Hourglass Amibant Light palette | £59 POST
To set everything and further enhance the glow-y look I love, I will be using these. I like to use the far left shade all over my face. The Bronze shade on my cheek bones and the lightest shade to highlight the centre of my face. For more details see this post.
Makeup Geek Contour Powder in Half Hearted | £7.95 POST
Contouring is part of my everyday makeup so a wedding is no exception. And this makeup contour pan applies smoothy, lasts all day and is easy to blend. The shade Half Hearted is ever so slightly warm toned, which I think suits me better than really cool, Grey tones.
Makeup Geek Blush pan | £7.95
I have recently been introduced to Makeup Geeks Blush pans which are just as brilliant as their eyeshadows and contour pans. The shade Romance is a beautiful Peachy Pink with Gold shimmers running through it.
Sleek Slotice palette | £9.99
For highlighter this beauty is perfect. It has Four highlighters that will suit most skin tones. The glow it leaves behind is amazing, without any glitter. I can't recommend this enough. See my full review of it with swatches here.
Makeup Geek Shadow pans | £4.95
For eyes I wanted something simple that wasn't too over the top. Makeup Geek shadows are just the best for pigment, blendability and wear time. My shades of choice are:
Rupunzel - This is one of my favourite MUG shades. Its a shimmery, Champagne colour. I like to use this as an inner corner and brow bone highlight.
Creme Brulee - This is just the best medium, warm toned Brown. And my best crease shade.
Cosmopolitan - This a beautiful Rose Gold colour with Gold shimmers running through it. The perfect lid colour.
Cocoa Bear - To deepen up the crease and outer v this shade is perfect. Its a warm Red toned Brown.
See this post for more details and Makeup Geek Swatches.
Soap & Glory Supercat liner | £6
I rarely go any where without a winged liner. I can't believe I've only just discovered this! Its so easy to create a wing with this. The formula is so good - it doesn't flake, fade or smudge. And its super Black.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99
This will be no surprise to regular readers. Obviously for weddings I want a Mascara thats going to hold up. And this is one is one of the best I've tried. It adds length, volume and holds the curl all day.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Mehr | £15.50
For lips I wanted something with some staying power that wasn't too high maintenance. I wanted to go for a liquid lipstick but with eating and drinking, I didn't want to keep touching it up or risk it smudging. So I opted for a good ole' Matte Mac lipstick in the shade Mehr. Its a dirty Blue toned Pink that goes with most looks.
So thats my wedding guest makeup picks. What are yours?
Until next time...
