July was definitely a spend-y month for me! I think I need a spending ban because I also got a ridiculous amount of makeup for my birthday so keep your eyes peeled for that post. But today I thought I'd share my thoughts on my recent purchases.
Clinique Chubby in the Nude Stick Foundation | £23
I'd seen this doing the rounds on a few blogs and was really intrigued! Don't let the oil version of pan sticks put you off, this really is amazing! The formula is really light and super easy to blend. I really like the convenience of it being in stick form. The coverage is on the light side of medium but it's so easy to build up and dap extra on any blemishes. The finish is a demi matte and very natural looking. I didn't find this drying either. Although I think my skin has become more combination ( it's normally dehydrated) in the warm weather, because at the end of day I did notice a bit of oil creeping through. I have the shade 09 'Normous Neutral, which is a perfect colour match. Overall, I'm really happy with this, I definitely recommed heading down to nearest counter and giving it a swatch!
BareMinerals Bare Skin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer | £22
This is another product I'd seen floating around the blogasphere. If you're a regular reader you'll know how I love a concealer! I also really love the Bareminerals Complexion Rescue so I thought it'd be perfect. Unfortunately, I'm kinda disappointed. It does have a good coverage, but I can really tell it has a serum in it. Which makes the formula almost oily, which makes it slip around. I used it under my eyes and it creased like crazy. It was also difficult to blend in because it just moved around. I haven't tried it on belimishes so I can't say but I'm convinced it will do a good job. This costs £22 as well, and for that price I would have much rather repurchased my trusty NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
Urban Decay Beached Bronzer | £20
Urban Decay are killing it with their recent launches! And this Bronzer is no expection. The shade Bronzed is a great warm toned, matte, bronzer, that really adds a bronzed, sun kissed look to the skin. The formula is butter smooth and finely milled. It applies evenly and lasts all day!
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick | £15
I'm sure most of you would have seen or heard about the new Urban Decay Lipstick relauch. They released 100 lipsticks all with different finishes and colours that everyone will love! I went for the shade Temper. It's a bright Orange toned Red. I wanted something a bit bolder for summer, plus I'm not really sure I can justify buying another nude lipstick. I'm really happy with the shade though, it suits tanned skin so well. It's from the Comfort Matte formula. Which is super creamy, non drying, long lasting and most importantly matte!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer | £23.50
I can't believe its taken me this long to get around to trying this bronzer! I picked up the mini size from Boots, because £22 for another bronzer seemed a bit steep but this was only around £10 so I thought why not! I like it but I'm not sure I love it. I've seen loads of people use this for contouring but for the shade just isn't right. I've tried using it for adding a glow to my cheeks but the shade just isn't right. I can't quite put my finger on why but I think it's because it has Yellow under tones.
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush | £17
Another product that I'm so late on the band wagon with! Can we just take a moment to appreciate how pretty the flower pattern is! I went for shade Peach Pop. Which is a lovely Peach colour with a very subtle sheen to it. This applies so evenly and smoothly. This shade isn't overly pigmented but I don't mind, I find blushes that have less pigment are easier to work and there's a lot less room for error. I definitely need to get more shades, I'm eyeing up Ginger Pop next.
There's a little round of some High-end makeup I've been testing.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
