January and February were quite exciting in terms of drugstore launches. I've managed to get my hands on a few bits that are new and some that weren't quite as new but exciting none the less. So let's get into it...
L'oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation | £9.99
L'oreal has added a new Infallible Foundation to their Infallible family and for once this one is actually available in the Uk! This offering promises to offer full coverage, a matte finish and be long wearing. It claims to be very similar to the original UK Infallible. But it's actually very different. It has a mousse like consistency, don't be scared though, it's not heavy or cakey. I found this blends better with a brush rather the Beauty Blender. It does offer pretty decent coverage and covers most flaws. Overall, I like this. I think it's definitely worth checking out. I have a full review and comparison with all the L'oreal Infallible Foundations here .
Lottie London Blush Crush | £4.99
I'm having a bit of a Lottie London moment. After falling in love with the Lip Kits (see this post) I wanted to try more. So I opted for this blush in the shade Zac. The shade is a lovely Berry Pinky tone. This does feel quite powdery in the pan but it blends well and is very pigmented!
Sleek Brow Intensity* | £8.49
Sleek have recently launched a brow product. Which is double ended; it has a brow gel at one end and a highlighter at the other. The gel end has a brush and the brush has a felt tip on the end for drawing and filling in the brows. It looks difficult but I actually found it easy. If you're fan of a super bold brow you will love this! It comes in 5 shades, Light, Medium, Dark, Extra Dark and Black. I have the shade Medium which is slightly too dark for me though. The highlighter end is ok. It's a Pink toned highlighter and I prefer more Champagne tones. It's also not very pigmented but it's perfect if you like a subtle highlight.
Sleek VIP Lipsticks* | £5.49
Sleek have also added some new shades to their Lip VIP line. I really like their lipsticks. They are very creamy and very comfortable. I have two shades. Ready to Rock (a cool, dusky Mauve colour) and Steal the Limelight ( a soft Purple). I'd say both these shades have a cream finish. They're also enriched with Vitamin E and Coconut Oil for added hydration. Ready to Rock is the perfect everyday shade which is something different to your everyday nudes. Steal the Limelight would be a great spring / summer shade. I really can't recommend this line enough!
Barry M Lip Kit | £6.99
The drugstore has gone crazy for lips kits! And Barry M are the latest on the band wagon. I have the shade Go To which is a Pinky, Brown nude colour. The lip pencil is slightly darker than the liquid lipstick. The pencil isn't the creamiest lip pencil I've every come across and does drag on the lips a little but I can still work with it. The liquid lipstick is very liquid-y and is opaque in one swipe. It dries down so matte. It almost looks dry! It's actually a very good dupe for the Kylie Liquid Lipsticks. Which I don't actually like but if you like them or are looking for a cheaper alternative you will love this!
Dr Paw Paw Moisturising Balm* | £5.99 (each)
These are a bit of a cult classic but I'm so late to the party! These are two (The original and the tinted Peach Pink balm) multi tasking hydrating balms that can be used as lip balms, on dry skin, cuticles and as a makeup finishing balm. The original multi tasking balm makes a brilliant lip balm. It nourishes and soothes my dry lips quickly! I also really like this a cuticle cream too, it softens them up ready for a DIY manicure. Another use I've found for this is as a brow gel. Only a teeny tiny amount though, and it holds my Browns in place all day! The tinted one is a Peach, Pink colour (as the name would suggest) this makes it great for days when I want something nourishing but still want a hint of colour on the lips. This can also be used a blush too. But to be honest it's a little to sheeny on the skin for me, but it makes a fabulous lip balm. I can't believe it took me so long to try these, they're great!
Colour Vibe Ash Blonde Conditioning Shampoo* | £2.99
I have ombre hair with blonde ends so I'm also looking for something to prevent my hair looking dull and dirty. So I was very happy when this landed on my door step. Colour Vibe has a range of in shower toners from pastel colours to regular tones to keep your colour looking fresh. I've been using the shade Ash Blonde to knock out brassy tones in my blonde. It works in the same ways as shampoo but it has to be left on for a little while. I leave it on for around 3 minutes and I'm so impressed by the results! This is the best toner I've come across - my hair instantly looks brighter and refreshed. All the brassy tones were gone! It lasts up to 3 washes so I like to use it once a week. Overall, I can't recommend this enough! Plus it's so cheap.
I'm pretty happy with everything I've discovered this month!
Have you tried any of these? What drugstore discoveries have you made?
Until next time...
