Are they Really Dupes?

I always see posts (mainly on pinterest) of supposed 'dupes'. And sometimes this can just be purely because the packaging or the name is similar rather than the actual formula or shade. I realised I had quite a few of these products and their high-end counter parts. I've been testing them and ready to share my thoughts on whether they're are dupes or not...

Setting Sprays & Face Mists Part 1- Affordable

Setting sprays and face mists are really having their moment in the beauty world at the moment! And for good reason, setting sprays are perfect for making makeup look more natural and extending makeup wear time. Face mists are a great multi tasking skincare item that can add instant hydration, refresh makeup and give skin life! I have quite a few in my collection so I thought I'd share them with you guys. There will be a part 2 - mid price and part 3 - high end, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Anyway here are some affordable setting sprays and face mists...

Ingredient 101 | Charcoal

Charcoal seems to popping up in most beauty products from Face Washes to Toothpaste! I realised I had quite a little collection of products with the ingredient in so I thought I'd put together an Ingredient 101. Charcoal has many skincare benefits and has even been used in medicine. But why is this such an effective ingredient?

The One Haircare Product Your Routine is Missing - OUAI Memory Mist

Haircare is where my beauty passion was born. I have super thick, dry, curly hair and when I was a teenager I hated it! So I went on a mission to tame my unruly locks. I've tried pretty much every type of hair care out there - serums, sprays, powders, leave in conditioners. But I've never tried anything like this before.

Makeup Lately

I can't believe we are almost half through August already! Where has the year gone? Anyway it's that time where I share the makeup I've been reaching for lately...

ColourPop Haul & Review

ColourPop has been on fire with their latest launches. Palettes, concealers, setting sprays and more! I fall for their Instagram marketing everytime. Just watching the girls use and swatch , alongside their cheap products, make me feel like I need them! I order direct from the ColourPop Website and they usually have free international shipping when you spend over $50 which does mean I always get a customs charge. But in my opinion it's worth it. Here's what I got...

What I got for my Birthday!

So it was birthday last week. I got some exciting gifts so I thought I'd share them with you.

Sony A5000 Camera | £329

I didn't really get a lot of beauty bits because this was main present! I've wanted to upgrade my camera for ages so I thought this was the perfect time. I was torn between this and the Olympus Pen but I went for this because it has really good reviews and it was slightly cheaper. I don't know a lot about cameras and photography so I wanted something that was going to improve my photos but was easy to use. And this really is so easy! I'm still playing with the settings and trying to find the best way to use it but so far so good!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette | £41

I treated myself to this on my actual birthday. And I really don't think this deserves all the hate it's getting! Granted, the shadows are slightly harder to blend but they are so soft and pigmented. I have a full review of this here so check that out for more details.

Juvia's Palace The Saharan | £29

This brand recently launched on Beauty Bay and I've heard amazing things about the eyeshadows so I added it to my wishlist and I was super happy to see it! I've only used it once but so far I really like it! Most of the shades are warmed toned, really pigmented and easy to blend.

SmashBox Cassie Homes Highlighting Palette | £26

This was a gift from the lovely Dagmara, Siobhan and Dorota. They know me too well because I love highlighters! This palette contains 3 different toned highlighters. I can't wait to use it!

Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation | £32

I've wanted this foundation for ages! It really does have a dewy finish and light-medium coverage. I'm still having a play with this so I will report but very soon.

Keep you eye's peeled for full reviews of these!

Until next time...

Love Me Beauty | August

Regular readers will know how much I love Love Me Beauty*. It's my favourite beauty subscription. Just because you get cool makeup each month and you get to pick the products! Which means no disappointment or unsuitable products! This months makeup bag was the same as last months which was kind of disappointing, but I'm not too fussed. If you want to see what it looks like see this post. Anyway, this months products list was super exciting because they have Buxom!! Here's what I got...

Protecting Skin From The Environment

The enviroment can have a really negative effect on the skin. I'm sure by now we are all aware of the negative effects of the sun and you don't need to be a scientist to work out that pollution isn't good for the skin. I read an interesting fact that 90% of premature ageing is because of the environment and sun damage. I'm not sure how true that is but it made me want to protect my skin for it. I've been doing some research and there are a few products that you probably all ready have in your routine and that will help protect the skin.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette - Is it Really That Bad?

The internet has gone crazy about this palette and not in a good way! I've seen videos of people hitting pan on the first use, moaning about the fall out and how powdery they are, people stopping their reviews half way through because they cant work with the shadows. I love the Modern Renaissance Palette last year but I wasn't too fussed about the shades in this palette until an email from BeautyBay landed in my inbox and I decided to treat myself as it was my birthday! When I received it I was a little scared to use it because of all the negative reviews I'd seen. But is it as really bad as everyone claims?

High-end Discoveries

I think we all know the drill with this post! If you didn't these are some of the high-end discoveries I've made over the last month.

Acids from The Ordinary

The Ordinary are slowly taking over my skincare routine, one new launch at time. My collection is pretty big and I think I've tried most of their products. They are ridiculously cheap! Today I wanted to talk about the acids they have to offer. I been testing these for quite sometime so I'm ready to report back...

The Insta-famous Oil - Frasali Rose Gold Elixir

If you have watched any sort of makeup tutorial on any platform you probably would have seen a Frasali Beauty Exilir used at some point! This Insta-Famous Oil was formulated by Farah the queen of DIY beauty hacks and her husband. I have the Rose Gold Exilir. This is a multi tasking oil designed to bridge the gap between skincare and makeup. Was this a gap that needing bridging? - I didn't think so. But since I'd fallen in the love with the MAC Essential Oils primer I was desperate to try this, especially after seeing how flawless people's skin looked after using this!

A Few Drugstore Discoveries

July was quite an exciting month in the drugstore. There were new brand launches, re launches and just some products that had been on my radar for a while. So let's get into it.

Best In Beauty | July

I can't believe we're at the end of another month! So it's time to share my favourite beauty products this month.
