A Few Festive Beauty Picks

It's no secret I love Christmas and the festive season, spending time with loved ones, eating loads, late nights and parties. All this paired with the cold it can have a negative affect on the skin. I also like to reach for 'festive' makeup so I put together a little edit of my skincare and makeup I'll be reaching for throughout the season.

The Brightening Mask

The Ordinary AHA Peeling Solution  | £6.30 | REVIEW

Smooth and bright is what I strive for all year but even more so in the winter when the cool air can leave skin dry and dull looking. This AHA mask from The Ordinary is one of the best AHA masks I've tried. It's a bright Red liquid that works in around 5 minutes to gently exfoliate the skin, lifting away dead skin cells to reveal brighter, more glowing skin. This also leaves my skin so smooth!

The Hydrating Mask

Peter Thomas Roth Blue Algae Mask | £50 | REVIEW

Alcohol and eating rubbish can also leave the skin not looking it's best. I love to reach for a hydrating mask that plumps out the dehydration lines that the night before my cause. This offering from Peter Thomas Roth will be a firm favourite because it is so hydrating! It really helps my skin to look plumper and leaves it feeling so soft.

The Do it All Primer

Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer | £15 | REVIEW

A good primer is the basis for any flawless makeup look. So I'll be reaching for my favourite Touch In Sol Primer. This is a super blurring primer that gives skin a smooth appearance and makeup glides effortlessly over the top. I find this helps makeup last longer too. So it's perfect for long days and late nights.

The Long Lasting Foundation

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation | £29 | REVIEW

When it comes to parties, spending time with the family and loved ones nobody wants to spend most of their time making sure their base is looking good or touching it up. So this Urban Decay foundation is the perfect base. It is super full coverage, it covers most imperfections and leaves skin looking flawless. I don't find this clings to any dry patches nor does it go cakey throughout the day. The name is pretty apt because this does last all night!

Laura Geller Powder | £26 | REVIEW

To ensure my base just isn't going anywhere a good setting powder is essential too. I've rediscovered my love for this Laura Geller one. It's really finely milled and isn't noticeable on the skin at all! It sets my makeup in place all day. I really like how blurring this is too.

The Festive Sparkle

Touch In Sol Metallist | £20

For me the festive season calls for some glitter. So I'll be reaching for the Touch in Sol Metallist eyeshadows. One end is a lovely liquid eyeshadow and the other is a stunning glitter that can be applied over the top of the liquid side! The glitter is really easy to use and doesn't fall over the face or feel chunky on the lids. Once this has dried down it doesn't move either! They come in a huge range of shades but I'll be reaching for Margret which is a warm toned Burgundy shade.

Iconic Illuminating Drops* | £32.99 | REVIEW

A killer highlighter is another festive beauty essential of mine. These illuminating drops from Iconic give such a beautiful, reflective sheen that somehow still look so natural on the skin. They last all day. If you're feeling really fancy you can even mix a drop or two in with your foundation to give it a luminous dewy finish.

The Festive Red

Maybelline Super Stay Matte Lipstick | £9.99

What christmas look is complete without a festive Red lip? This Maybelline liquid lipstick in the shade Heroine fits the bill perfectly. It's a beautiful Red shade that just screams Christmas. The formula of these is so long lasting too, so you won't have to worry about touch ups. I don't find them drying on the lips either. It's an excellent choice for the festive season.

There's a few of my festive beauty picks.

Have you tried any of these? What are your festive beauty picks?
