Best Makeup Discoveries 2017

I'm always so shocked when it comes to monthly favourites, because the months seems to whizz by so I can't believe it's time for the end of year one! I've decided to spilt these posts into categories, today we have makeup. Make sure you check out the 'REVIEW' Links for full reviews and swatches. So let's get into it..

Touch In Sol No Poreblem Primer | £15 | REVIEW

If you've read more than Two of my posts I think it's safe to say most people know how I feel about this! I LOVE it, it's easily one of my favourite discoveries of the year! Although this only launched towards the end of year I couldn't not mention it. This is a pore blurring primer, that leaves a super smooth canvas for makeup application. It does have a silicone base but this doesn't dry out at all. It smooths over any dry areas, blurs fine lines and pores. It also helps my makeup stay on longer. I'm sure I won't be leaving this in 2017.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation | £29 | REVIEW

Foundation was such a tough choice. I've discovered so many foundations I really like but most of them are very recently. When I looked back and thought of the foundation I've reached for consistently  it's the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation. I've actually repurchased it which I rarely do with foundations. The foundation itself is very full coverage! This won't be for everyone but I really like it. Despite having such full coverage this doesn't look cakey or heavy at all on the skin. The staying power is amazing, it stays looking perfect all day on me. The finish is matte but not flat and this doesn't pose an issue for my dry skin either.

Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Powder | £33 | REVIEW

This powder I reached for consistently throughout the year. This is pricy for a powder but so worth it. It's so finely milled, it looks undetectable on the skin. It also has a blurring effect on problem areas too. It sets my base products in place all day too. I don't find this too drying on my skin either.

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual skin enhancer | £38 | REVIEW

I actually got this last year and I think I've used this everyday since. It's a super full coverage concealer that covers everything - dark circles, blemishes, pigmentation issues. It doesn't look unnatural on the skin though. Plus this doesn't crease under the eyes. This is very expensive as concealers go but I've had this ages and it's still going strong!

Milani Rose Blush | £12 | REVIEW

Blush was another tough choice because I rotate them a lot! But my standout favourite is the Milani Blush in the shade Romantic Rose. Which is a lovely matte, dusky Mauve colour. The formula is finely milled and it's easy to blend in. It goes with almost any makeup look.

Iconic Illuminating Drops |  £32.99 | REVIEW

Again, is this a surprise to anybody? The illuminating drops are game changing. I use them as a highlighter and they give such a nice dewy, sheen to the skin. But they look so natural. These are a liquid but they don't move makeup or any base products. I have the shade Original which is a classic Champagne colour that would suit most skin tones.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette | £35.55 | REVIEW

2017 was the year of eyeshadow palettes for me, I brought so many. But hands down my favourite is the Heat palette. I love warm tones and I don't think there's another eyeshadow warmer than this! It has a good range of matte shades and shimmers. The mattes are so creamy, pigmented and so easy to blend. The shimmers are equally as pigmented.

Pixi Highlighter | £14 (currently £9 here) | REVIEW

For powder highlighter favourite is this Pixi one in the shade Santorini Sunset. It has a Champagne tone that catches the light perfectly, without any glitter or chunckiness. The formula is buttery soft and blends seamlessly on the cheeks.

L'Oreal Baby Roll Mascara | £7.99

The top spot for mascara goes to the L'oreal Baby Roll mascara, I've lost count of the amount of times I've repurchased this! It has a comb wand that looks kind of weird, but applies the mascara to the lashes really well. It adds length and volume, while holding the curl all day! Plus the price is spot on.

DHC Liquid Liner | £16

I don't talk about this liner enough, considering I use it everyday. It has a super fine tip that makes creating a small or large wing really easy. The tip isn't too firm it drags on the lids either. The liner is also super Black and pigmented and stays Black and in place all day!

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip | $6 | REVIEW

I have two Ultra Satin Lips that are my stand out lip products of the year. One shade is Echo Park which is a lovely Peachy, Brown nude colour. And 915 which is the perfect Browned nude. Both of these are perfect for everyday wear. The formula of the Ultra Satin Lips is brilliant. They're liquid lipsticks that do have more of a satin finish than totally matte but they're far more flattering on the lips. They have incredible lasting power to.

Some Honourable mentions:

Becca Backlight Priming Filter | £32 | REVIEW | Still one of my favourite primers that I reach for when I want a good glow.

LA Girl HD Foundation | £11 | REVIEW | this is still one of my favourite foundations, it's dewy, has good coverage and staying power. It didn't make the favourites because I've just been reaching for the Urban Decay All Nighter more.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette | £56 | REVIEW | The Huda Beauty palette is a very recent discovery that I'm sure will feature in next years! The formula of these shadows are so buttery, it's probably one the best I've tried.

So there's my makeup of favourites of 2017. Keep your eyes peeled for my skincare favourites.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
