New Skin Care Additions // Tried And Tested

The past month I've been test out this little trio from Freedom. I believe Freedom Makeup is Makeup Revolutions professional range. I was presently surprised by the makeup I've tried from them (you can read all about it here) so I thought I'd give their skincare a whirl!

Freedom Pro Studio Eye Makeup Remover // £5 (currently on other for £2.50)

This promised to be an effective yet gentle cleanser that removes all types of eye makeup even waterproof formulas from the eyes, in light weight formula that moisturises the eye area without feeling greasy. This is a lightweight watery cream that is supposed to be applied to cotton wool and placed over the eyes then rinsed away with water. I didn't overly like this product. Its taken a several attempts to remove my eye makeup. I do wear a lot, but this isn't normally a problem for other traditional eye makeup removers. I don't have sensitive eyes but the first thing I noticed was how strong the scent was so I'm not sure how someone who does have sensitive eyes would cope with this.

Freedom Pro Studio Moisture Cream // £7 (currently on offer for £3.50)
The Studio moisture cream is a hydrating, rich moisturiser that contains skin loving ingredients such as shea butter to help firm, and Squalane (derived from olives) to help protect and rejuvenate. This is a very rich cream which my dehydrated skin loved! I use this at night because it might be a bit rich for day time use and this really feels lovely on the skin! In the morning I'm left with soft, nourished skin!

Best Beauty Discoveries Of 2015

I cant believe were coming to the end of 2015. Where did it go? Who knows, but it means I can share with you my top beauty discoveries of the year! This year has had many highs and lows in terms of beauty. I've find some real staples that will be entering 2016 and some duds that will be left at the back of my collection gathering dust! But anyway onto the gems!

2015 and has been the year my makeup obsession has got, some would say, uncontrollable. I've really branched out into brands and products that I would normally over looked, which has lead to many products that I love!

Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette // £15.50                                     POST

When I started thinking about writing this post this was the first product that popped into my head! This palette has been a firm favourite and I've raved about it in many previous posts! Its full of warm tones, inspired by chocolate, with a few unusual colours that you wouldn't normally find in your average nude palette. Which is why I love it! My favourite colours are Freshly toasted - a warmed toned matte brown and warm notes - a shimmery cranberry colour.

This was my go to palette through summer. There are 9 shadows inspired by amber hues. There's a
mixture of finishes from matte to shimmer, making it easy to create almost any eye looks!

Milani Baked Blushes // £6                                             POST

2015 was the year that marked my discovery of Milani baked blushes! These blushes are amazing. And will definitely be coming with me into 2016! I have the shade Berry Amore and Luminoso. My favourite is Berry Amore. Its a berry shade with shimmers running through it. Both these blushes look absolutely stunning on the cheeks and last all day!

Collection Contour Kit // £3.99                      POST

This is one of the best contour shades I've used. Its ever so slightly on the warm side, which I prefer, I find cooler shades look dirty on me. The pigmentation is perfect - not to much so its easy to go overboard and not to little. It blends brilliantly and the price is even better! I'm not fussed about the highlighter though - its okay.

Too Faced Born This Foundation //  £29                POST

This is my stand out foundation of 2015. I'm a bit of a foundation floosy, I have so many but this has been my go to since I brought it. It has a good medium coverage but its so lightweight and easy to blend. It has a slightly dewy finish which I also love! The lasting power is amazing to, it lasts all day on me without powder! This is an excellent all round foundation!

Benefit Watts up Highlighter // £24.50

This is my all time favourite highlighter. I just love the finish it gives. Its a beautiful champagne toned highlighter in a stick form. This is so creamy and blends out effortlessly. With cheaper stick form highlighters I've used in the past, they tend to move my makeup underneath, this does not do that. And leaves a lovely lit from within glow!

Essence Long Lasting Lip Liners // £1.50                              POST

These budget beauties have been my go to lip liners since Essence landed here in the UK. The formula of these is so creamy, long-lasting and easy to apply! My favourite shades are 05 Lovely Frappuccino (A warmed toned brown, perfect for nude lipsticks) and 07 Plum Cake (A purple mauve colour).

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer // £17.50

I've repurchased this countless times! This is a full coverage concealer that's lightweight and buildable. It covers any type of blemish, discolouration and any other skin concerns with ease. But I really love this for dark circles and highlighting areas of the face. I have the shade Fair Neutral which looks white in the tube but blends out beautifully! It doesn't settle into fine lines or crease and wears all day! Everything about this makes it a winner in my book!

Skin Care

I don't have to many standout skin care products. But the few I do, have really wowed me!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight serum in oil // £15.50

This is an overnight treatment that promises to replenish and recharge skin while you sleep! In a non-greasy and fast absorbing formula. This really does live up to all it promises! I'm left with super soft, smooth skin in the morning. This doesn't break me out and I've noticed an overly all improvement in the way my skin looks and feels!

Pixi Glow Tonic // £18                                        POST

What did I do without this stuff? Its blooming brilliant! Its a chemical exfoliator which is gentle enough to use everyday. This has reduced the redness I get from old spots, improved dehydration lines, and leaves my skin smooth. I like to apply this to a cotton pad and wipe over my face after cleansing in the morning and evening. This is instantly refreshing and leaves my skin really smooth.

Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture cream // £13

An illuminating moisturiser is just what my skin needs. It has light reflecting partials to help skin glow as well as essential hydrating ingredients. I looove this! I've been using this every morning without fail! This little pink pot is very hydrating without being too heavy for a day cream and leaves my skin silky smooth! Makeup also applies beautifully over the top. When applied this really does give a subtle glow to the skin, so this would be great for those no makeup days! A definite keeper in 2016!
Hair Care

Its rare for me to find anything that makes a massive difference on my thick, frizzy curly hair. So my hair discoveries are pretty short!

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment // £8.49

I discovered this at the beginning of the year I think, and I haven't found anything I like more. I've raved about this on many occasions! This. Is. The. Best. Hair Mask. Ever! Yes ever! I've never used anything that makes my hair so smooth, shiny and healthy looking! This claims to help grow but I don't think it does, but its nourishing properties are second to none!

Wow I actually have quite a few products I've loved! What are yours? Be sure to leave your recommendations below!

Until Next Time...

What I Got For Christmas!!

So Christmas day is over for another year (sob). I had an amazing day with my family - eating, spending time with each other and giving and receiving presents. So I thought I'd share with you what I received (which I'm so grateful for!).

This is not featured in the picture because I used it to take the picture! But this is the present I was most excited for! I finally got a proper camera to take my blog photos. I did really want an SLR but they are crazy money and my photography knowledge is pretty basic so I thought I start with something I would have some idea on how to use! I really want to up my photography game in the new year so fingers crossed this will help me! A massive thank you to my lovely boyfriend for buying it for me!

I've been dying to use Zoeva brushes ever since I fell in love with their eye shadow palettes so these were swiftly added to my Christmas list! This set is so stunning and contains 8 professional brushes in beautiful black leather pouch. The set includes:
  • A powder brush
  • A Silk Finsih brush - idea for buffing in foundation
  • Face shape brush - designed for contouring
  • Luxe sheer cheek brush
  • concealer and buffer brush
  • Soft definer brush - A perfect eye shadow blending brush
  •  Petit Crease brush
  • Winged liner brush
All the brushes are super soft and appear to be brilliant quality!

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eye Shadow Palette // £40

After seeing this on countless blogs and instagram I knew I had to get a piece of the action! And this is a beautiful palette! Apart from the bottom row there are some amazing everyday nudes in it! But I love that their are a few bolder colours in there, I love bolder colours!

This was recommended to me by a fellow blogger after asking which Zoeva palette to try next and this one seemed right up my street! The shadows are inspired by rose gold and copper hues, and I do love a smoky copper eye look! There are a range of mattes, shimmers and metallics in the palette, to create many different eye looks. So when I unwrapped this I was very very happy!

This is my all time favourite Yankee Candle scent! It smells of marshmallows and fire smoke scent. So my sister kindly brought me the massive jar!!

Yankee Candle Tart Burner // £10.99

My sister also brought me this beautiful tart burner along with the shea butter tart! I love the smell of shea butter moisturiser so I'm sure this will be a firm favourite!

I also got some soft fluffy PJs, dressing grown, stationary and some other random bits! But what I loved most about Christmas day was spending time with my family and seeing my children's faces as they opened their presents. And that is always spectacular to see them so excited and happy! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas! What did you guys get?

Until next time...

Post Party Pick-me-ups (Skin Care)

With all the festive parties and New year parties just around the corner skin can be left looking a bit lack lustre, so here I have some top skin care picks to inject a bit of life back into the skin!

Glam Glow Youth Mud // £25

Lets firstly address the size of this! You get a tiny 15ml for £25, which I did not realise when I brought it. The box was deceivingly big! But don't let that put you off, this stuff is amazing! The best face mask I have ever used! This is a tinglexfoilate mask, that contains minerals, clay and essential oils that work instantly! It exfoliates, hydrates and tones all in one step! This tingles on the skin when first applied, which encourages blood flow, which will help skin look plumper and more alive! Just what is needed after a long night!

Pixi H20 Skin Drink // £24

Hydration is essential to putting the glow back in skin, especially when alcohol is involved-dehydration and all. This gel offering from Pixi intensely moisturises without smothering or suffocating the skin. And because its a gel its super refreshing and awakening, making it perfect for after a night out!

Yes To Dark Circle Correcting Eye Cream // £11.99

This miracle in a tube claims to reduce dark circles and brighten eyes. Since I've been using this I haven't noticed a dramatic reduction in the appearance of my dark circles but it does seem to brighten them when first applied! Its also kind of cooling which helps reduce puffy-ness as well so its perfect for post parties! Pop this in the fridge for it to be super cooling and wake those eyes up a little more!

Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist // £2.99                          POST

I love this as a refreshing pick me up, Its a tonner in a spray form that contains lots of hydrating ingredients. I like to spritz over my face whenever it needs a pick me up. This can also be used over makeup.

Garnier Miracle Skin Cream // £12.99

After a night out my skin looks dull and grey and this is my secret weapon! This is a white cream that turns into a tinted moisturiser when applied to the skin. The coverage is not great but it definitely takes the dullness out of my skin, leaving it looking fresher and more radiant!

What are your favourite skin pick me ups?

Until next time...

The One Brand Face // Collection

Collection, the master minds behind the much loved Lasting Perfection Concealer. But that is not the brands only greatest achievement! They have many other products that perform amazingly given their very affordable price tags! So I thought I'd share my favourites:

Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation // £5.99

Regular readers, you all probably know how I love a dewy foundation and this one is perfect for achieving that fresh faced glow! It has a radiance boosting formula that pretty much lasts all day. The coverage is medium but buildable and blurs most imperfections Which is amazing for a foundation that costs just over £5! I have the 33 Cool Beige which suits my skin tone perfectly when I don't have a tan. The only downside is there is only 6 six shades in the range.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer // £4.19

I'm sure you've all heard about how amazing this is! And it really it is. Brilliant coverage, lasts all day, doesn't crease, and all for under £5!!!!

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze // £3.99

I do love a good nude palette so when collection lauched this I had to get a piece of the action! And I was not disappointed, these shadows are insanely good for the price point! They are buttery smooth, easy to blend, good pigmentation and last all day! My favourite shades are Ochre and Golden Brown, which at first look are very similar to Half Baked and Smog from the original Naked palette.

Collection Blush and Glow Palette // £4.99

My love for the collection contour kit is no secret! You can read all about it here. And this palette contains the contour shade, highlight from that kit along with two blushes - a perfect one stop shop for all your blush, contour and highlight needs!  This palette is one of my daily staples! The contour shade is one of the best I've tried and the blushes are of the same high quality! My favourite is the slightly paler dusky pink shade. The other blush is slightly brighter with shimmers running through it.

Collection Divine Volume Lash Mascara // £3.99

This not only adds volume and length to the lashes it also contains hyaluronic acid to help moisturise and condition lashes! This mascara is brilliant, it doesn't flake, is super black and holds the curl all day.

Collection Lip Butter in the shade Cappuccino // £2.99

Collection have also jumped on the lip crayon band wagon in the form of these. This little beauty is the perfect 'my lips but better' nude shade. Which is perfect for everyday wear! And a firm favourite in my lipstick collection!

So that's may favourite collection products! What are yours?

Until next time...

Makeup Lately

Another edition of Makeup Lately for you guys! If you didn't read the last one (you can find it here) its the makeup I've been reaching for latetly. So without further ado:

The Body Shop Insta Blur // £14

I recently picked this up so I've been testing out. And I'm really liking it! It promises to unify complexion, Extend foundation wear, minimise pores, hide imperfections and keep shine at bay for 12 hours. I don't really have oily skin so I cant comment on that. As for hiding imperfections, I cant say it does, it doesn't really have any coverage. But it definitely minimises pores, and extends foundation wear and leaves smooth base for foundation application.

NYX HD Foundation // £12.50                            POST

I love this! I think its one of my favourite drugstore foundations! Its a light diffusing foundation which leaves skin smooth, radiant, and flawless! This is so easy to blend and the finish is amazing, its dewy but not too dewy - making it my current go to foundation!

Bourjois Health Balance powder // £8.99

I completely forgot how much I love this powder until I recently re brought it. Bourjois have made the perfect powder for dry skin with this! It sets makeup, unifies complexion and boosts radiences all in a finely milled powder that doesn't look cakey!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 15 // £5.99                  POST

I been reaching for this a lot lately, I like to use for highlighting under the eyes and hiding those herondous dark circles. Its one of my all time faves! It has great coverage, blends effortlessly and seamlessly, and doesn't crease! A great all rounder.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade crème de nude // £4.99

I've been loving this as an eye shadow base. It is as the name suggests a very light creamy nude colour. This conceals any discolouration on the eyelids and helps eye shadow 'stick on' better. This is apparently a dupe for MACs paint pot. I haven't tried these though so I cant compare.

Makeup revolution New-Trals vs Neautrals // £6.99

Makeup Revolution have put a twist on your everyday neutrals in the form of this palette! From Burnt oranges, deep plums to your everyday classic neutral shadows this palette has it all! I've been using this palette to create an autumnual burnt orangey, copper eye look. My favourite shades are Tone (A warm toned orangey brown) and Mode (your classic shimmer copper shadow).

H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in the shade Sunrise Pink // £6.99

For blush I've been reaching for this little beauty from H&M. Its a lovely mauve-y pink colour with shimmers running through it.

MAC Stone // £15.50                   POST

So that's some of my current go to makeup. What's yours? Until next time...

Hold all your plans of buying an expensive cleanser until you've at least tried this! This a rich makeup cleanser that melts away makeup and impurities, without strapping or drying out skin, leaving skin feeling soft, clean and pampered! This is like lard in the pot but once it has come into contact with water it instantly melts into a smooth oil that lifts away makeup with ease and its easy to remove with a damp flannel or muslin cloth!

Soap And Glory Speed Plump Overnight Miracle Moisture Mousse // £14

Christmas Day Makeup

I'm so excited for Christmas day! I'm not a scrooge in the slightest, I love the food, the atmosphere, being with family and of course giving and receiving presents! So today I thought I'd share some of my top makeup picks for Christmas day!

Soap & Glory one Heck Of Blot Primer // £10          POST

Bourjois Air Mat Foundation // £9.99

I don't normally like matte foundations, I find they dry my skin out. Which is frustrating because hydrating ones don't tend to last to long. But this is amazing! It lightweight, long lasting and doesn't dry my skin out! Making this a winner for Christmas day when my I want my makeup to last all day!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer // £17.50        POST

For concealer I'll be reaching for my trustly Naked skin concealer! This covers all types of imperfections and dark circles - without smudging, budging or creasing. I love this for highlighting the under eye area and centre of the forehead and down the bridge of my nose.

Makeup Revolution The One Blush stick in the shade Matte Malibu // £5          POST

I like to finish to of a subtle eye shadow look with winged liner and this one perfect! The applicator is so fine, making it easy to draw a wing and great for beginners!

The Winter Lip Edit

For me its officially winter! Its so cold here in the UK! And December means its time to dig out those festive reds and beautiful berry shade lipsticks! Here are my top lipsticks for winter this year:

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in the shade 663 Va Va Violet // £7.99

How have I not tried this range of lipsticks before? They are amazing! This shade in particular is a beautiful deep purple colour that looks scary in the bullet but it translates to such a beautiful colour on the lips! The formula of this lipstick is so creamy and comfortable on the lips. This has a slight sheen to it but it lasted around 4-5 hours before the colour started to fade. Which I think is pretty amazing for a hydrating non matte lipstick!

MAC Matte Lipstick in the shade Stone // £15.50

MAC Matte lipsticks are my favourite formula and this is no exception! The shade is muted greyish taupe brown, with slight warm undertones. The has a rich opague colour in true MAC lipstick style. I love this shade I've never seen anything like it! The lasting power is good - it lasted around 3-4 hours. And this will be a definite staple this winter!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in the Shade 342 Mauve Mania // £6.99   POST

Sometimes I find a dark matte lip too high maintance or I'm just feeling something a bit more subtle I reach for this! Its a lovely pinky purple with mauve undertones. This isn't completely matte and the formula is so creamy and comfortable on the lips!

Maybelline Colour sensational Matte Lipstick in the shade Divine Wine // £6.99   POST

I can't rave about these matte lipsticks enough. I have a whole post on why I love them here. But this shade in particular is just perfect for winter / Christmas! Its a beautiful deep red wine colour! The formula is insane for a lipstick that cost less £10! Its so creamy, so comfortable and long wearing!

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade 1993 // £15.50   POST

This has been one my favourite go to lipsticks throughout autumn and will be taking into winter! Its a medium to dark brown colour with taupe undertones. This looks stunning on the lips and the pigmentation and lasting power make a perfect winter option!

Loreal Colour Riche Lipstick in the shade Eva Pure Red // £6.99

This is my perfect festive red! The colour has burnt orange undertones. I find that many reds don't really suit me but this one does beautifully! Loreal has made a winning formula that sits in between a matte and satin finish, that feels so velvety and comfortable on the lips! Perfect for Christmas day or festive parties!

Revlon Color Burst Lacque Balm in the shade 140 Coy // £7.99

This is dark brown nude colour with a gloss finish. I had to throw in more of nude colour, especially for days / parties when theres a heavy eye look and lips are kept simple! And because on more of the brown side than nude its perfect for the barely there but put together look!

Born Pretty Store Long Lasting Lip Gloss in the shade 33 // £1.50 *   POST

I have no idea why this is called a lip gloss, Its definitely a matte liquid lipstick. But the odd name aside I love this! Its a deep red colour with brown undertones - perfect for this time of year. But it's the formula that makes this a winner in my book. Its matte velvet finish, that literally lasts all day! I put this on in the morning and the colour is still visable at the end of the day without any touch ups!

So that's my favourite lipsticks for winter! What are yours?

Until next time...

Collective Haul // Boots, Superdrug & High end

Wow that's a lot of face masks, this was almost a face mask haul! But I thought I'd throw in everything else I've brought recently, so here we go:
If you haven't already checked out M&S new beauty department I definitely recommend it. They have so many brands that are difficult to find in the shops, such as; Pixi, Glam Glow, REN and many more!
This little beauty claims to meet all skin problems in this tinglexfoilate treatment! A blend of minerals, clays, essential oils promise to work instant results in as little as 1 minute. It loosens dead skin cells by gently exfoliating,  hydrates, tones and conditions all in one step to reveal younger, smooth, more refined, radient skin! Phew that's a lot of  promises from this tiny pot! Fingers crossed it lives up to what it promises because I was somewhat disappointed by the small amount of product (15ml!!!!) that you get for £25!
The few things I've tried from Pixi Skincare have not disappointed me and my skin has never looked better so I added this beauty to the line up. This a hydrating gel that intensely moisturising skin without smothering or suffocating the skin. It contains a blend of ingredients to calm skin  without clogging pores or irritating breakouts! I really like this so far, its super refreshing and leaves my skin soft and smooth!
Stila Eyes Are The Window Soul Eye Shadow Palette // £30
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how stunning this palette it is? The stunning Rose gold and gold packaging drew me but what's inside palette is just as stunning! It contains an array of beautiful shimmer and matte shadows that range from warm toned browns to beautiful jewel tones! This palette has it all! Making it a must for my collection.
I haven't brought a new cleanser in a while and this was half price and seemed intriguing. Its a dual action gel cleanser that turns into an oil when mixed with water, providing gentle yet effective cleansing without leaving skin feeling dry or tight. To do this it contains active plant extracts, clary sage that is known for its hydrating and soothing properties. I've used this a few times and I really like this! The consistancy is very thick like glue but turns to a milky oil when water is added. This leaves my skin feeling really clean without drying out! I think this will become a firm favourite!
This was another offer that was to good to turn down (save up to half price). This intense treatment balm is blended with argan and camellia oils in a light weight formula to rescue dry or dull hair! It recommends using once or twice a week for 1 to 5 minutes before rinsing. I haven't used this yet, but I love the hair oil from the same range so I'm hoping this will live up to that!
Yes I brought 3 face masks. But this deal was insanely good - one face mask is normally £2.60 but they were on offer for 3 face masks for £2.50. Strange! but I took advantage and got:
  • Superberry Exfoliating Mud Mask - This contains antioxidants to protect skin from free radicals. China Clay to absorb excess oils and raspberry seeds to gentle exfoliate to reveal smooth radiant skin. This is suitable for all skin types.
  • Aloe Vera De-stressing Mud Mask - This is formulated with Aloe Vera to calm the skin and replenish moisture and dead seas mud to deeply cleanse, leaving skin soft and radiant. For Normal to combination skin.
  • Vitamin E Hydrating Moisture Mask - This mask is rich in skin loving oils to nourish, along with vitamin E known for anti aging and hydrating properties. Suitable for normal to dry skin.

I've been looking for a good clarifying shampoo to use once a week to prevent silicones building up within the hair. It promises to rinse away without any build up, whilst being gentle enough to be used everyday. The result - beautifully clean hair that's full of vitality and shine! Sounds like a winner in my book!
Aussie were on offer in Superdrug 2 for £7. So I thought I'd give this a whirl. This contains Jojoba Seed Oil to help protect coloured hair while added shine. I applied this on dry hair and it help to seal spilt ends and did leave my hair with brilliant shine!
So that's everything I've been buying recently! Have you tried any of these? What have you been buying lately?
Until next time...

Hair Care Must Haves

I have super thick, unruly, dry, long, frizzy just not very nice hair naturally. But throughout the years I have found some really good products that leave me silky, soft manageable hair! I love hair care posts so today I thought i'd share one with you!

Garnier Ultimate Blends The sleek Restorer Shampoo // £2.79

Research suggest that the best shampoo for dry or damaged hair is one that doesn't contain sulphate (a cleaning agent) because this can strip the hair and leave it dryer and inturn weaker. I have tried sulphate free shampoos but because I use lots of products I need a good shampoo to prevent product build up. But if you don't have overly thick or unruly hair then I would recommend a sulphate free one! My shampoo of choice at the moment is this Garnier one. To tell the truth I've never overly noticed dramatic results from a shampoo alone. But I like the smell of this one and it's very affordable!

Maple Holistics Argan Condition // £5.26 *

For conditioner I've been loving this argon oil one from Maple Holistics. This obviously contains argan oil, jojoba oil and a whole host of other hair loving ingredients to help smooth, nourish and add shine. And this really does. As soon as I start rinsing this of I can feel how soft it has made my hair. Which I think is amazing for a normal conditioner! This also doesn't contain sulphates or silicones. Silicone in hair products doesn't offend me but this is a winner for those who like to avoid them!

Lee Stafford For Hair That Never Grows Past a Certain Length Treatment // £8.50

This my holy grail of hair masks! I never found one that leaves my hair in amazing condition like this one does! This miracle in a tub contains proteins and moisturizers to nourish the hair and thus, encourage hair to grow. I don't use this to help my hair grow nor have noticed it help my hair grow any quicker. But this just leaves my hair so soft, silky, smooth and shiny! I've never tried any hair masks (and I've tried a few in my time) that have come close to this! I use this every time I wash my hair, but if you have finer hair I'd recommend only using it once or twice a week because it may be too heavy on finer hair types. I like to smother my hair in this after shampoo and conditioner and leave as long as possible (usually around 15mins).

Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance // £4.49

Leave in conditioner is another product my hair can't go without. And it frigging loves this offering from Aussie. It claims to be a saviour for weak, distressed hair. It contains many hair loving ingredients including jojobia seed oil to help detangle and nourish the hair while reducing drying time. As well as having heat protecting properties. This literally cuts blow drying time in half! Which is a life saver because my hair is so thick it takes a while to dry. This also leaves my hair smoother. I spray this liberally on freshly washed damp hair, before styling.

Umberto Gianini Mend My Hair Rehab // £6.99

This leave in conditioner promises to repair damaged hair and protect from further damage by adding hydration and potiens that are naturally found in the hair. I really like this, when I use this my hair is noticeably shinier and softer! I apply this in the same way as the Aussie Leave in conditioner.

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Leave In Conditioner // £5.99

This amazing gel crème formula adds essential, moisturising ingredients such as argan oil to lock in moisture and improve the over all condition of the hair. This smooths split ends and leaves my hair brilliantly soft, without weighing it down! And leaves it smelling gorgeous! I apply a 10p sized amount to freshly washed damp hair and style as usual for best results!

Ganier Ultimate Blends The strength Restorer Serum // £4.99

This purse friendly beauty promises to re strengthen hair, smooth spilt ends and leave hair feeling fortified with the help of honey bee propolis - an ingredient know for its strengthening properties! This can be used as pre wash, nourishing treatment, after washing to seal spilt ends and between washes to smooth and restore shine! I love using this on dry hair between washes to smooth split ends and add shine to my hair!

Makeup Geek Haul

I'm super excited about finally being able to share what I picked up from Makeup Geek with you! If you didn't know Makeup Geek is another brand that all the American beauty gurus rave about (especially their eye shadows). They are known for producing high quality eye shadow at affordable prices. Makeup Geek wasn't readily available  here in the UK. But they are now available from Beauty Bay! However, the eye shadows and Z palettes sold out so quick I was only able to get my mitts on a few shades. But here they are:

Z Palette // £8.05

Makeup Geek shadows are sold individually so, obviously I needed a palette to put them in! I originally wanted the black larger palette but they were all sold out so opted for the smaller pink one. I will be getting the bigger one to allow my collection to grow! The Makeup Geek pans are magnetic so they don't slip or slide around, but the palette also comes with adhesive tabs for other eye shadow pans.  I'm actually really impressed with the palette. The palettes are cardboard, When I've seen them in YouTube videos they don't look overly sturdy, but they really are!

Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in the shade Rapunzel // £4.95

This is a beautiful peachy champagne colour with a metallic finish. This has a silky smooth texture that isn't powdery! This would make a great brow bone highlight for those who have darker or olive skin tones! But I like to wear this all over the lid.

Shimma Shimma // £4.95

This is one of the shadows I have heard the American beauty gurus rave about! This is a light beige colour with warm undertones. This again is buttery smooth and makes an excellent inner corner highlight!

Cinderella // £4.95

This is a lovely pale shimmery pink!

Chickadee // £4.95

This is one my favourites out of the shades I have! Its a warm, matte, yellow orange colour. I love this blend through the crease. And it compliments my dark brown eyes amazingly!

Latte // £4.95

This is a beautiful matte, warm toned brown! Another excellent crease colour!

Sorbet // £4.95

This is pastel light pink colour. That would look great in crease with a pink eye look.

Cosmopolitan // £4.95

This is a stunning rose gold colour with a golden orange sheen! This looks beautiful on the outer third of the eye.

Overall, the shades that I have are all buttery smooth, highly pigmented, easy to blend and last all day! These are amazing value for money! They have everything you would expect from shadows with a much higher price tag. Coco Bear and peach smoothie are next on my list when they come back in stock!

Z Palettes and Makeup Geek Eye shadows are available from

Autumn / Winter Blush Picks

I don't normally post on a Tuesday but I want to start posting more, so hopefully this will be a regular thing - alongside Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Today I thought I'd share with you my top Autumn Winter Blushes! For me winter cheeks are all about berry, mauve and browner tones! So without further ado:

Milani Baked Blush in the shade 03 Berry Amore // £6

Now you all probably know by now how much I love the blush! But it just wouldn't be right for me not to include this because it is one of my favourite autumn / winter blushes! This  is a beautiful berry shade with gold shimmers running though it. And this looks absolutely stunning on the cheeks! I use this almost everyday to finish off any autumn / winter look!

Essence Matte Touch Blush in the shade 20 Berry me up // £2.50

This budget friendly option should be added to everyones collection! Its a pinky purple shade that adds a subte wash of colour, ideal for everyday wear. But the formula of this is brilliant for the price, It's long wearing and just enough pigment that you cant go over bored!

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in the shade Pink Lemonade // £9.99

Sleek are known for their blushes and I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about them! And this palette does not disappoint! It has 2 powder shades and a cream shade. The shade icing sugar I would say leans more toward a summer colour but the cream shade Macaroon I've been loving this autumn! Its a lovley creamy, cooled toned mid pink with slight purple under tones. In the swatch (below) the colour looks really intense, but when blended out this leaves a beautiful colour on the cheeks. I like to apply this with a stippling brush. For cream blush the wear time is also brilliant - it lasted all day on me!

Sleek Eyes & Cheek Palette A midsummers Dream // £9.99

I got this free when I spent £10 or more on Sleek cosmetics in Boots. And I've fallen in love with the blush shade suede in this palette. Its a peachy earth toned matte blush, that acts like a bronzer and blush in one! I love the warmth this adds to my complexion.

Max Factor Crème Puff Blush in the shade 30 gorgeous berries // £8.99

This is a stunning berry, purple shade with mauve under tones and has slight shimmers in it. This is a firm favourite during autumn winter. This is crazy pigmented so I apply this with a light hand and blend it out well.

What are your favourite blush picks for this time of year?

New Skin Care Additions // Tried and Tested

The past month I've added a few new additions to my skin care family, so I thought I'd share them with you and how I got on with them!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream // £13

I absolutely love The Body Shop Vitamin E night moisturiser so I wanted try the day version and with this cold weather sucking the life out of my skin I opted for the illuminating option. It has light reflecting partials to help skin glow as well as essential hydrating ingredients. I looove this! I've been using this every morning without fail! This little pink pot is very hydrating without being too heavy for a day cream and leaves my skin silky smooth! Makeup also applied beautifully over the top. When applied this really does give a subtle glow to the skin, so this would be great for those no makeup days!

Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Lifting Mask // £9.99 (Currently on offer for £4.97)

I picked this for it's moisturising properties. This mask is aimed at lifting the face and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It contains bee venom to help plump and firm the skin, propolis extract which is a powerful anti oxidant to help heal the skin, and many other skin loving ingredients to help soften and moisturise. It can be used as a mask for 1 minute, an intense mask over night or as quick fix cleanser in the mornings! I used this as a 10 minute mask. And the results of from this were amazing and instant. It really did leave my very soft, smooth and hydrated. But, it broke me out! Which wasn't ideal so I probably wont be using this again!

Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Cream Deluxe // £19.99 (Currently on offer for £9.99)

I picked this up because it was on offer in conjunction with the mask. This cream claims to act as a second skin shield to prevent aging and offer intense hydration. This contains Hyaluronic acid to increase the amount of moister the skin can hold, shea butter to help soften and sooth and many other anti aging properties. This is a very rich cream which is a dream to apply. Its a bit to rich for me to use as a day moisturiser but boy this works wonders over night! This really left my skin smooth, soft, glowing and hydrated! I cant say if this has worked on reducing wrinkles, because I'm fortunate not to have any yet, but I'm hoping this well prevent them!

Have you tried any these? Have added any new additions to your skin care routine?

REVIEW // NYX HD Studio Photogenic Foundation

With NYX  being a brand loved by many American beauty gurus when it was available from Boots it was no brainer that I had to try some stuff from the brand. Along with many other NYX products I'm now the proud of owner of this HD foundation. You can check out what else I picked up here.

This is a light diffusing foundation that is infused with a trio of peptides to deliver the appearance of smooth, radiant, flawless skin. It also contains ingredients to boost collagen and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles! It comes in 8 shades. I picked up the shade Natural. Which is slightly too dark for me, But hey ho its just a reason to slap on more fake tan!

The consitancy of the foundation is very fluid, making it a dream to blend in! I'd say it has medium coverage that leans more to the light side. But its easily buildable without looking cakey. The finish is satin to matte. I used an illuminating primer with and it left me with a amazing glow to the skin! The wear wasn't the best. It lasts around 4-6 hours without powdering. But I really liked the finish this foundation gives so I can live with that!

Now, having HD in the title its easy to compare this to the Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation - which I wasn't massive fan of. But I actually prefer the NYX one! Its easier to blend, and the finish is miles better in my opinion! And half the price!

Overall, I really like this foundation! And I have been reaching for it over many of the high end versions! I say that is better suited to those who have normal to dry skin, purely because of the wear time. It also photographs beautifully and skin looks natural and flawless!

NYX HD Studio Foundation is available here. (£12.50)

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?

The Festive Party Makeup Edit

With Christmas just around the corner it means it time for festive parties and family gatherings, so I thought I'd share with my top party makeup picks for this time of year!

Stila Stay All day Foundation and corrector // £29 (currently on offer for £23.50

For parties  I like a long lasting base that I'm not going to have worry about touching up and transferring everywhere. And this Stila foundation is perfect for that! This is oil free, high promance, medium to full coverage foundation, that leaves a flawless matte finish. It also has skin loving ingredients to keep skin hydrated and added skin care benefits! There's also a nifty concealer hidden in the cap, that covers dark circles and blemishes, in creamy blendable formula!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer // £5.99

This is one of my favourite drug store concealers. I love this for highlighting under my eyes, centre of my forehead and down the nose. This is so creamy and blendable with an amazing natural finish, that's stays all day, without creasing. I have the shade 15, with is oddly paler than the palest shade 10.

Freedom Pro Strobe Kit // £10    POST

For contour the Freedom Pro Strobe kit is a must! This budget friendly beauty contains 3 contour and bronzing shades and 3 highlighting shades. I like to use the darkest brown shade to contour with and I'm left with perfectly sculpted cheek bones, ready for any event!

Sleek Face Form Palette in the shade light // £9.99    POST

I like this palette for the highlight shade! This is an all out there highlight, that gives a stunning glow to the face. Perfect for parties. I sweep this across the tops of my cheek bones to finish of that killer contour!

Milani Baked Blush in the shade 03 Berry Amore // £5    POST

To finish of the cheeks I've been loving this Milani Baked blush! Its a lovely berry shade, in keeping with autumn / winter colours.

Urban Decay Naked Palette // £38

This palette almost comes out for any kind if party look! But I love a bronze / gold smoky eye for the festive season. I love the shade Half Baked all over the lid and then blended out with Buck.

Barry M Dazzle Dust in the shade 44 // £4.59

I like to pat this over the top of half baked (with a damp eye shadow brush) for an added copper sparkle to the eye look. This is also a good dupe for MACs Copper pigment.

NYX Intense Butter Gloss in the shade Toasted Marshmallow // £5.50     POST

I sometimes find a bold matte lip to high maintance when I'm out - fading patch and transferring all round my face (not a good look) so sometimes I like to opt for gloss. And this offering from NYX is perfect! Its a highly pigmented plum shade ideal for the party seasons. The lasting power is also pretty good for gloss and it wears evenly!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray // £21

This is an essential for keeping makeup looking fresh! There's nothing worse that looking in the mirror at a party to find your concealers creased and your foundation's patchy and this is perfect for preventing that!

To finish the look add a few coats of your favourite mascara or lashes!
So that's my top festive party picks! What are yours?

Until next time...
