With Valentines day just around the corner I thought I'd share with you some makeup inspiration. Love or hate it, its a good reason to pamper yourself and show some love to family and friends. Obviously this makeup look is suitable for pretty much anything you are doing!
Base:
Smash Box Photo finish primer Water // £20
For primer this is a great option. I'm not really sure how this works considering it doesn't contain silicones, Alcohol or oil, but this really does leave my skin nice and smooth and pro longs makeup wear. Its also super quick and easy to use!
Boujois City Radiance // £9.99
I love a dewy foundation all year round and valentines day is no exception. This one from Bourjois is brilliant. It has an anti pollution screen to reduce the presence of carbon particles (which can dull skin) for a radiant glow. This has a good medium coverage and lasts pretty well for a dewy foundation. Perfect for a date night, or what ever you are doing this valentines!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer // £22
A highlighted, sculpted complexion is essential for any kind of date night (well for me any way) and this concealer is perfect for highlighting the under eye area and concealing dark circles. This also doesn't crease or move so no looking like a melted wax work model for your date or night out!
Collection Contour Kit // £4.19 POST
Regular readers are probably bored of hearing about this. But I just love this so much. Its my perfect contour shade, it's nice and easy to work with a formula thats so affordable!
TopShop Glow Pot In Polished // £9 POST
To really add a bit of extra glow and bring out those cheek bones, look no further than this cream highlighter. This gives a gorgous subtle glow, to any area you want to apply it. It doesn't interfere with the base make up either, its a win win. I like to apply this to the centre of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose and across the cheek bones.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer // £17.50
To really get those super model like cheek bones I like to go over the Top Shop Glow Pot with a light dusting of this beauty. If you prefer more of a subtle highlight I'd skip this step because this almost gives a wet look to the skin.
Sleek Blush By 3 in Pink Lemonade // £9.99 POST
The shade icing sugar from this palette is perfect for a valentines look. Its a lovley pink colour with subtle shimmers running through it, That give the cheeks a lovely healthy glow.
Eyes:
Zoeva Rose Golden Palette // £15.50
Valentines day is a perfect excuse for me to embrace my love for all things rose gold! And this Zoeva palette, inspired by all things rose gold and romance is perfect. This palette has a varity of colours all with hints of rose gold to create anything from subtle to smokey looks. My favourite shades are Copper is king ( a stunning copper with under tones of rose gold) - all over the lid, Luster (a matte light beige) - through the crease and Rust Peals (a dark chocolate brown) - in the outer V.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara // £7.99
I'm not a massive fan of false eye lashes but Valentines makeup just isn't complete without long fluttery eye lashes. And this beauty will help you achieve that without a falsie in sight, as well, holding the curl and without flaking!
NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Angel Food Cake // £5 POST
I've opted for a gloss because if I'm eating or drinking I don't want anything that's going to smudge round my mouth or go horribly patchy. Angel food cake is a beautiful pink-y mauve colour that will go with any look. Although this could get messy If you're going to be kissing anyone. Lip products are a bit of no win situation!
Maybelline setting spray // £6.99 POST
This isn't pictured. But obviously, no body wants their makeup to fade or go patchy. So a setting spray is essential. And this Maybelline one, will keep your makeup looking fresh until you want to remove it!
What are your plans for valentines Day? And what makeup look are you going for?
Until next time...
