Your New Discounted Online Beauty Shop | COSME-DE.COM + Haul

I've decided I much prefer online shopping than shopping in store. Especially for beauty products. My local town is rubbish for beauty departments - we don't have a MAC, Space Nk or NARS. So most of the time I have to shop online. And then theres my local Boots. Which is pretty big and stock most brands but the staff rarely stock the selves and 9 times out of 10 the shade or product I want is out of stock! Plus I can browse online anytime of day or night!

So that Leads me to COSME-DE.COM. They are an online store that stock over 500 brands, Including Mac and NARS! And the brands in the picture. They also offer free, fast worldwide shipping. Which is always a plus! My products came within a week, in perfect condition and in plenty of bubble wrap to keep them safe. They also have brilliant discounts on some products. I picked up...

EVE LOM Cleanser 50ml | £27*

I've wanted to try this cleanser for the longest time! Its a balm cleanser, that contains Coco Butter and Camomile help soothe and condition the skin. Clove Oil for its antiseptic properties and Hop oil that acts as rinse aid.  I've used it a few times already and my first impressions are I love the stuff! Its a really thick balm cleanser. That works into the skin beautifully. Although, this doesn't melt into an oil as such, its more like a luxurious cream - that leaves my skin feeling so nourished and plumped after removing. This is currently available from COSME-DE.COM for £27 (50ml) at Space NK for the same size it costs £40!!

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Opal | £25*

I've been loving all things Becca Lately so it was a no brainer that I needed to try one of the famous highlighters. And I was not disappointed! This highlighter is like nothing I've tried before, its so soft and finely milled and applies beautifully! The shade Opal is a Champagne, gold colour that looks stunning across the cheek bones. It catches the light and gives skin a lovely radiant finish!

By Terry Ombre Black Star | £25*

Another cult classic that has been on my list for some time! Shadow sticks are right up my street, especially for days when I've snoozed the alarm clock one too many times. This is so easy to apply, one sweep and I'm good to go! The shade Bronze Moon is a perfect shimmery bronze colour. I like to apply this all over the lid and smudge the edges out with my finger. This is so long wearing - it stayed put all day, without smudging or creasing. These Retail for £29 in the Uk but are available from for £25!

Date Night Makeup

The Boyfriend and I thought we'd make good use of the long weekend and head out for date night. We just went out for dinner and drinks. So I thought I'd share with you my date night makeup picks! I wanted to go for a real glowly bronze-y look. Nothing too far from my everyday makeup...

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue | £26

I've been loving this stuff lately! This is a tinted moisturiser hybrid kind of thing that gives the most amazing radiant glow to the skin. This is ideal for a date night because the coverage is a good medium coverage, yet the formula is so lightweight! Once its blended in it looks so natural.

LA Girl Pro Concealer | £4.99

Obviously dark circles are a no no. So I reached for this to conceal them. This is one the best concealers I've used for hiding dark circles! It doesn't crease, move or crack - its just brilliant! I have the shade yellow, which I find better for concealing my dark circles than Salmon tones.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer | £22.50

NARS was my highlighting concealer of choice. Another concealer that I love. Its creamy and has good coverage, doesn't crease and highlights the area with out being to over the top!

Hourglass Ambiant Light Palette | £59

To set everything in place and give my skin some more added glow I used my trusty Hourglass palette. I used Dim Light all over my face, Incandescent Light (the middle shade) down the centre of my face and across the tops of cheek bones. And then Radiant Light (the Bronzy shade) round the edges of my face and on my cheeks to give a bronzy glowy look. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative for this palette see Hourglass vs Makeup Revolution Here.

Loreal Infallible Sculpt Blush | £7.99

To Further enhance the bronze look I was going for, this blush in the shade Nude Beige was perfect! Its a lovely bronze nude colour, that looks stunning on the cheeks. The formula is finely milled, easy to blend and lasts all day / night.

Seek Soltice Palette | £9.99

This palette is so beautiful. And the highlights inside are insane for adding a beautiful glow to any look. I used the more orangey shade to highlight my cheek bones. This shade in particular adds a Stunning, almost wet look to the skin. It doesn't have any glitter in it - it just leaves behind a gorgoues shimmer. See my full review and swatches of this here.

Makeup Geek Contour Pan | £7.95

I wanted a razor sharp contour and these contour pans from makeup geek are just as good as their shadows. Buttery soft, easy to blended, well pigmented and last so well on the skin. I have the shade Half Hearted which suits my skin tone well.

Makeup Geek Shadow Pans | £4.95

I went for a rose gold toned eye. I took Creme Brulee (a warm toned light matte brown) though the crease as a transition shade. Then I used Coco Bear (a warm reddish brown) to darken up the crease and outer V and finally I used Cosmopolitan (a shimmery Rose gold colour) all over the lid. I can't rate Makeup Geek shadow enough. They are everything you would want from a high end shadow and a small price! For swatches see this post.

Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner | £5.95

I rarely go without a winged liner and a date night is no exception. To be honest this eye liner is ok. Its black and doesn't flake or smudge - but I wasn't wowed by it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99

To complete the eye look a good coats of my favourite mascara. This Mascara is just the best! It lengthening, volumising and holds the curl all night! I won't bang on about this too much because it featured in quite a few posts. But if you haven't tried this already you NEED to!

NYX liquid Suede Liquid Lipstick | £6.50

For lips I wanted some colour but one that wasn't to high maintenance, with eating and all. And this liquid lipstick was perfect. The staying power is crazy good! I think I only needed to touch this up twice. Which is impressive considering I was eating and drinking all night. It did't smudge round my face either. The shade Softly spoken is a beautiful, dusty rose colour with brown undertones.

So thats my date night makeup look. Have tried any these? What are favourite products for a date night?

Crazy For Coconuts

Coconut Oil seems to be the beauty worlds answer for everything at the moment! And for good reason. Coconut oil has a whole host of benefits and uses. It can be used to nourish and moisturise the hair and skin, as a makeup remover and nourish cuticals. So its no wonder I have collected quite a few products containing this marvellous oil. So today I thought I'd give a little round up of my favourite products that contain it. Little Disclaimer I hate the smell of coconut! It all stemmed from a teen Malibu accident, Moral of the story - drink responsiblly guys!

Vita CoCo Coconut Oil | £11.99

This is raw coconut oil that can be used for cooking, eating as well as a beauty product! Its solid in pot but once its worked into the hands it melts into a luxuarous oil. I've tried moisturising my body with this. But to be honest, its far too oily for my liking - I hate the slippy feeling on my body, however it removes makeup so well. And once removed it leaves my skin feeling really nourished and moisturised. It also makes a brilliant hair mask. I use as a pre treatment on dry hair. I just work it in, leave it on for 10 minutes, shampoo and condition as normal. And I am left with super soft, shiny, silky hair. I definitely notice a massive difference in my hair if I don't use it!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Oil | £9.99

This is one of the best hair oils I've ever used. I actually prefer this one over the famous Moroccan Oil. This is blended with pure coconut oil to help reduce frizz, keep hair looking sleek all in a light weight formula that even protects hair from heat damage! This is also a multi tasking product that can be used as a pretreament, on wet hair before styling or on dry hair to smooth over the hair.

Lee Stafford Coco Laco Balm | £6.99

This balm protects, soothes, adds shine and smooths over split ends. This is a very solid balm in the pot that takes some real effort to get out and melt into oil, but once it does it sinks into the hair and leaves it with a lovley glossy finish! This also makes a great nourishing pre treament.

Too Faced Hungover Primer | £27

I think us Brits couldn't contain our excitement when this made its way to the Uk! And it does not disappoint. This is designed to hide signs of a late night by smoothing over the skin and giving it a injection of power skin loving ingredients, including coconut oil! This really does smooth over the skin, leaving it feeling nourished and hydrated. It makes a brilliant base for makeup and helps pro long its wear. This does have a slight coconut scent - nothing to over powering though, it disappears once it is blended in.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation | £29

This foundation also contains coconut water as well many other ingredients to promote healthy skin. To hydrate the skin and to help makeup apply smoother. I love this stuff, its one of my all time favourite foundations! It has a good medium coverage, blends in so easily and seamless, and leaves skin with a natural radiant finish!

So there all my current favourites that contain Coconut! Have you tried any of these? What are your favourite beauty products that contain Coconut?

The Ultimate Flawless Base With Vichy

Flawless, poreless, fresh radiant looking skin is something (and I'm sure not alone) I strive to achieve daily. I've tried a lot of foundation and by a lot I mean A LOT! I have more foundations than I care to admit. So I probably didn't need another one. But its my addiction! So today I'm reviewing this offering from Vichy and the matching Dermablend setting powder.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation | £18 *

My sister uses this and she loves it so I was super excited to try this! This foundation promises to be full coverage in lightweight, easy to blend, hydrating formula that claims to last up to 12 hours. It has a high pigment concentration that gives up 25% more coverage than regular foundation.
Wow were my initial thoughts!

The packaging is good and practical, not a dodgy pump or pipette so that's a winner. The foundation itself was surprisingly runny. I was expecting it to be a lot thicker. There are 8 shades in the range. I went for the shade Nude - which matched me perfectly. I dotted it around my face and It was so easy to blend and melted into the skin like a dream. The coverage is indeed full - it covered all my redness. I did still need some concealer under my eyes. though. I would be amazed if anything actually managed to cover my dark circles. This isn't heavy in the slightest and looked seamless on the skin. It also is very fresh looking, which I love! My skin did look flawless! In terms of wear this is amazing! It didn't crease, move or transfer all day! My skin still looked perfect when It came to removing at 10pm! This also didn't irritate my dehydrated skin! I tend to find full coverage foundations that promise to last so long, feel tight and just horrible - this felt comfortable on my skin all day. Brilliant is the only way to some this up!!!

Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder | £15*

I've expressed my dislike for powders many times. I just find most too drying. So I was very apprehensive about trying this. It's a loose powder that is designed to be used over the top of the Vichy Foundation to reinforce its hold, and make it last even longer! It is translucent so it won't add any extra coverage. The directions say to use the included powder puff to apply the powder, wait two minutes, then dust the excess off. To be honest I found this way too drying. So I just applied a light layer with a fluffy powder brush and the results were fantastic! It wasn't drying and left me a natural matte finish. This used inconjunction with the foundation are a long wearing dream team!!!

Overall, I'm very impressed with both of these! Especially the foundation! If your in the market for a long wearing, full coverage, flawless looking base these are definitely something to check out!

Have you tried these? What are your thoughts?

New in from Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution are on fire with their new launches at the moment. I was eager to try the  Fortune Favours the Brave palette and I ended up adding a couple of other things to my basket. So today I thought I'd share them with you!

Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Palette | £9.99

If you didn't already know this palette was a collaboration with the British Beauty Blogger. As soon as Jane announced the early release of this, I headed straight over to the Makeup Revolution Website to make an order! Can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful it is! The palette itself contains 30 eyeshadows housed in a sturdy gold palette. With a large mirror and a brush. Theres a mixture of matte, shimmers and baked finishes. Ranging from pale pinks to a matte black. The whole idea behind the palette is to bring a range of shades that are suitable for all skin tones. Makeup Revolution are well known for delivering brilliant eyeshadows at ridiculously low cost. And this palette does not disappoint! Almost every colour is well pigmented and easy work. Especially the shimmery ones, they're all buttery soft. Not going to lie some of the paler mattes do lack pigmentations, but as drugstore mattes go these are very good. My favourite shades are:

  • Peachy - A peachy pink colour, with a subte shimmer. I like to use this all over the lid.
  • Glimmer - A white shimmery highlight shade with pink undertones. A brilliant highlight shade.
  • Buffer - A mid to light matte brown. This is a perfect crease colour.
  • Favour - A mid toned pink shimmery colour. A great lid colour.
  • Fortune - A shimmery Olive colour. I like to use this all over the lid or in the outer V
  • Skylight - A shimmery blue, this is a baked one.
  • Lonely Planet - a brown olive colour with gold shimmers
  • Sunset Hour - a lovely shimmery orange copper. This looks stunning all over the lid.

I am a massive fan of the Radiance palette (see this post here) and glowy skin, plus I'm on a mission to find some great powders for dry / dehydrated skin, so I picked this up. This looks more like the Hourglass Ambiant lighting palette too. This palette is far less shimmery than the radiance palette, and work beautifully as setting powders. This palette doesn't have shade names, which is so frustrating! But anyway the paleist shade is the most shimmery of the 3 and makes a lovely subtle highlight. I like to use the centre shade to set all my make up, and this gives a lovely lit from within glow. The final shade is slightly bronzey, which is perfect for adding a bronzy glow to the skin. I would imagine this would make an excellent bronzer for those have a paler skin. All 3 powders are finely milled, buttery soft, smooth and easily to apply.

Rose Gold packaging ticks all the boxes for me. And this has a very Charlotte Tilbury look about it. The Shade Chauffeur is a beautiful nude colour. Makeup Revolution have the balance between Brown and Pink just right with this shade! The formula is just as brilliant, its a gloss finish thats creamy, comfortable and as £3 lipsticks go it has pretty good staying power!

Have you tried any of these? What are your favourite Makeup Revolution products?

Disappointing Product | Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer

I'm always on the look for an amazing concealer. One thats going to hide my awful dark circles in two coats, not crack or crease and look seamless on the skin. So while browsing the Debenhams website I came across this concealer and after hearing somebody, I can't remember who, raving about this on Youtube. It swiftly made its way into my basket.

Makeup Forever claim this instantly hides dark circles, with its anti dark circle complexion booster and radiance enhancers, along with added skin care benefits to prevent the ageing process., In a formula that is undetectable on the skin ticks all the boxes in my book. So as soon as got my hands on it, needless to say I was excited.

However, the excitement soon worn of when I saw the applicator. It just squeezes out the rounded tip applicator. This made it difficult to control the amount of product that comes out, and made it difficult to actually apply it under my eyes. I persevered though hoping the actual concealer would be all that it promised. I can forgive bad packaging if the product is good. After researching swatches I went for the shade Y21. Which has super strong yellow undertones. I probably could have done with a lighter shade. The concealer itself is very creamy and easy to blend. The coverage though, wasn't great. I must have applied a good 6 or so coats before I was happy with the coverage and then my dark circles still were still visible. I went about my day as usual. And checked my makeup  just before I left the house and it had creased like nobodys business. I'm not even exagerating! I had massive lines of concealer on under my eyes. I blended them back in, but this kept happening throughout the day.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure now why I brought this, as I'm not a massive fan of the Ultra HD foundation. At £20 a tube for something thats difficult to apply, let alone a rubbish product this was a massive waste of money!

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer is available from Debenhams.

The Sick Day Skin Kit

I've been a bit under the weather recently. In an ideal world I'd just lay in bed feeling for sorry myself, but unfortunately I can't. So today I thought I'd share with you the makeup and skin care I reach for when I'm feeling a worse for wear!

Skin care:

Soap And Glory Scrub Your Nose In it | £9

When I'm feel tired, groggy and not very well nothing perks me up than giving my face a good scrub! I instantly feel more awake and alive. As you can see from the picture this one Soap and Glory is well loved! It has very scrubby particals in it that lift away dead skin cells. It also contains AHAs and doubles up as mask for a deep clean. Its also really refreshing so its perfect for an early morning wake up!

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream | £9

This is a multi task cream that anyone with dry / dehydrated skin needs! It can be used on the face or body for instant relief for dry or dehydrated skin. When I'm ill my skin becomes even more dehydrated and this gives it all the moisture it needs. Leaving it looking plumper and smoother.

Makeup :

Seventeen Skin Wow | £5.99

Perking up my dull skin is a daily issue for me, but even more so when I'm ill. This can be used as highlighter primer or mixed with foundation. I love this as a primer, it perks my skin right up, and leaves me with a smooth base for makeup application.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless | $5.21

This is a full coverage matte foundation. As much as like to opt for a lighter base I want something that is going to hide all signs of illness and fatigue. Plus I also want something that isn't going to move when I'm constantly  blowing my nose! And this is perfect. This blends easily, lasts all day and leaves my skin looking flawless! A must have for sick days! See my full review here.

Bourjois Radiance Revel Concealer | £7.99

This is brilliant for concealing under circles and highlighting the under area! It is super brighting and instantly makes me look more awake and less ill!

Autography Highlighting Powder | £!5

To fake that lit from within glow this highlighter is perfect. Its very subtle so it wont look too over the top for those dreaded sick days. Its a golden champagne tone that brings out the check bones and gives me a bit of colour!

H&M Blush in the shade Sunrise Pink | £6.99                                                           POST

This lovely Mauve toned blush instantly gives me a nice healthy colour thats easy to blend.

Maybelline Lash Sensation Mascara | £7.99

Mascara is a daily essential for making me look awake so definitly a must when I'm ill. And this one from Maybelline is just the best for giving me long, volumised lashes that stay curled all day!

Maybelline Baby Lips and Blush | £4.99

Now I wouldn't recommend this a blush the formula is far too sticky and doesn't set. But this is brilliant as a lip balm! When illness strikes i can't be dealing with the maintaince of lipsticks, lip balms are what I reach for. The shade Innocent Peach offers hydration and a subtle wash peachy colour!

Have you tried any these? What makeup and skin care do reach for when you're feeling under the weather?

A L'Oreal Roundup

Is it just me or does L'Oreal feel a bit more expensive than other brands at the drugstore? L'Oreal is one the drugstore brands that I can find something from each makeup category and love it, whether it be foundations or lipsticks. I recently picked up a few new things from them and thought what better way to share them with you guys than a good ole' brand roundup.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation | £9.99

I was never a fan of the original True Match foundation. I found it drying and cakey looking. But L'Oreal has formulated it - adding oils and skin care benefits into the mix. The Result? Is a brilliant new foundation. The formula isn't dry or cakey, it blends in well and sits beautifully on my skin. It has a satin finish and lasts around 6 hours on me. You can read my full review of this here.

L'Oreal Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette | £9,99                                                              POST

When I heard L'Oreal was launching a contour range I was super excited. And this little cream palette did not disappoint. I have the shade 03 medium / dark, which is a perfect contouring shade for me. The darker shades sits a little on the warmer shade, but not to warm it looks silly. And the lightest shade is very light, which is perfect for creating a strong contouring look. Although, I don't tend to use the lightest shade on a day to basis, just because it's a very strong look for everyday wear. Both shades are really creamy and easy to blend.

L'Oreal Sculpt Blush | £7.99                                                                                            POST

The Blushes are my favourites from the Sculpt range. They each have 3 shades that can be used separately or all together. I just use the all together. I have the shades 102 Nude Bronze, which is a lovely bronzy colour and 201 Soft Rosy, which is pink colour. Both of these are super pigmented, easy to blend and lasts all day. But what I love most is the finish - they give a beautiful soft radiance to the cheeks.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Single Eye Shadows | £5.49

I think L'Oreal eye shadows are seriously under rated. As drugstore eye shadows go these are brilliant. They're super pigmented, buttery and easy to blend! My favourites are 107 Macaron Vanille, which is a matte yellow-y beige colour. And 500 Luminere which is a stunning gold Champagne colour.

L'Oreal Super Liner Black n Scuplt | £6.99

This liner is another new launch from the Sculpt range. This is a strange liquid liner to say the least. It has a strange round tip. Making me wonder how is anyone supposed to achieve a perfect wing with it. Well having put this the test I can tell you, its not easy. Not impossible, but not easy. After several uses it is really difficult to get a small, defined wing but its easy to achieve a strong bold one. One plus to this though is it makes light work of liner the upper lash line. It's also super black and lasts all day.

L'Oreal Infalliable Matte Max Lipsticks | £6.99

This is another strange concept. This lipsticks have a foam applicator and the product is in the lid. This isn't like any convential lipsticks, it feels kind of powdery on the lips but they are not drying at all! The product applies sheer at first but it can be easily built. These are super long lasting, they didnt blend around the lips and they don't transfer. I have the shades 001 Silencio, which is a peachy nude colour and 004 Ooops I Pink It Again, which is a nice berry toned pink.

L'Oreal Infaillible Setting Spray | £7.99

Its brilliant to see drugstore brands bring brilliant alternatives to much higher priced products. And this setting in spray is exactly the same as the famous Urban Decay setting spray (see my battle of the setting spray post). I find that the Urban Decay one doesnt actually prolong my makeup wear but keeps it fresher for longer, and the offering from Loreal keeps it looking fresh for just as long, for a fraction on the price!

Have you tried any of these? What are you favourites from L'Oreal?

Until next time..

The Spring Beauty Edit

With Spring just around the corner, Although it doesn't actually look like it while I'm writing this, its time to make those seasonal beauty changes. Which I am very much welcoming! So today I thought I'd share with you some beauty items I'm going to start incorporating into my routine!

Soap and Glory Moisture Marvel | £13

As the weather warms up I'm hoping my skin will become less dry and dehydrated, so I'll want a lighter but still moisturising day cream. Soap and Glory's moisture marvel  promises to hydrate the skin for 24 hours, soothe dryness and help reduce the appearance of fine lines!  Making this perfect for spring. Its light but still hydrating enough to keep dehydration at bay!

Bare Mineral Complexion Rescue | £26

As the weather gets warmer, I like to switch up my base for something lighter, thats not going to cook and melt. I picked this up last year and I wasn't too sure about the first few times I used it, but its since grown on me and I love it! Its a tinted Gel cream that combines skincare benefits and coverage in one. This glides onto the skin beautifully, blends in with ease and, has a lovely radiant (but not shiny) finish. It has a light to medium, but build-able coverage. This lasts all day on me, which is brilliant considering its a BB / CC cream hydread.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer | £22

I could talk about my love for this concealer until the cows come home. This is amazing at covering blemishes, under eye circles and any other skin concearns. The formula is super creamy, easy to blend and it lasts all day without creasing, cracking or moving! Theres no way I'm leaving this in winter!

Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette | £13

When I first saw this I thought it was an eyeshadow trio from some reason. But, in fact its a blush palette, that houses a bronzer, hightlighter and blush. The bronzer is a very pale, milky bronzer, to be honest I'm not fussed about the bronzer. I thought it would be too pale for my skin tone but it actually works quite nicely as a very subtle contour, but I normally like something abit more intense. This would be ideal for those with pale skin tones. The Highlighter looks straight up white in the pan and when swatched, but when blended onto the skin something magical happens - it transforms into a pretty champagne / golden highlight, that looks beautiful on the cheek bones and catches the light well. The Blush is a stunning rose gold colour. This again looks stunning on the cheeks and gives me a healthy flushed look!

Zoeva Cool Spectrum Palette | £28

Dagmara from Mummys Beauty corner has inspired me to experiment with colour (her makeup looks are amazing!!) So I opted for this palette as it contains a good mix of colour along with some wearable everyday shades all inspired by cool tones. It also incudes a range of finishes - matte and shimmer finishes. I'm particulally looking forward to using the green shades. But my favourites are:

CL040 - Is a light to mid toned cool brown.
CL070 - A pinky Coral with a shimmer finish.
CL110 - A mid to dark brown with a shimmer finish. This, to me, also looks purple-y in some lights
CL120 - A brown, slightly coppery shimmer.
CL100 - A gold with a shimmer finish.
CL010 - A muted mocha colour with grey under tones.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick the shade Bitch Perfect | £23

When it comes to spring / summer makeup, lips is were I struggle. I like my browns and nudes. But this lipstick is the perfect inbetween shade. Its a muted coral colour, that looks nude on me. So I get the best of both worlds. And the formula of the K.I.S.S.I.N.G line mean its super creamy and comfortable on the lips.

NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Angel Food Cake | £5

This another perfect shade for spring. Its a beautiful pink-y mauve nude. And any nudes with pink undertones lean more pink on me so this is perfect for spring. The butter glosses are just as described 'buttery', and not sticky in the slightest.

Essie Mint Candy Apple | £7.99

This is one my all time favourite nail polishes, and I've just got a brand new bottle from my kids on Mothers day for spring! The shade itself is a minty colour. I can't actually decide whether its Green or Blue. But I'm going to say its a minty green. It has a high glossy finish and Essie polishes are just the best for non chipping, I get a good 2-3 days wear before it does. Which may not sound like a lot but some polishes chip the same day of painting them on me!

Essie Virgin Snow | £7.99

Now, this polish is from there winter 2016 collection, but I'll be taking this into spring with me. The shade is a lavender colour that has an icy-ness to it. Its quite pale and creamy and looks absolutely stunning on the nails!

Firmoo Sunglasses | £13.42*

Now although these aren't exactly a beauty item, I'm becoming more and more concearned about anti ageing and wrinkles, so sunglasses are a must for brighter days - To prevent squinting in the bright sunlight and causing wrinkles! This pair from Firmoo will be staple during spring summer. The lenses are mirrored blue (you cant really tell in the picture though) and have a very designer look about them. And they come with a nice sturdy case. Which is so handy, I've lost count the amount of primark sunglasses I have broke / scratched in my handbag.

What products will be you be using in spring?

Until next time...

Makeup Lately #4

I'm back to share with you guys the Makeup I've been reaching for lately. I've brought a lot of new things I've been putting to the test that I'm excited to share with you guys!

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation | £31

I'm so late to the party with this one. Everybody, and many with different skin types rave about this foundation, and its been recommended to me a few times, so I finally decided I had to see what all the hype was about. I was surpised at how much coverage it gives, its name being sheer and all. Its not overly glowy either. I'd say it has a satin finish, that looks very natural on the skin. Its was easy to blend in and lasted all day on me. I have dehydrated skin, this didn't leave it feeling dry or tight. Basically my makeup looked and felt good all day! I picked the shade Punjab, but I could have done with shade darker, but that a side this is a very good foundation!

Hourglass Ambiant Lighting Palette | £56

I spoke about this in depth on Sunday (see Hourglass ambiant lighting palette vs Makeup Revolution radiance palette) so I wont go into too much detail. But I've been reaching for these almost everyday since i got them. For me they are great for setting makeup as I find most powders dry my skin out. These dont. They leave me with a nice radiant finish which I just love!

L.A Girl Pro Concealer | £4.99

This has been my go to concealer for hiding under eye circles. I'm not even exaggerating I have horrendous dark circles that are so hard to cover and I've never tried a liquid concealer that covers them as well! This is brilliant! If you don't already own one of these, i cant recommend them enough! I have the shade yellow which I use before a regular coloured concealer and hey presto my dark circles are gone! It doesnt crease, crack or move, its just BRILLIANT!

Makeup Geek Shadow Pans | £4.95

Again I have spoken about these loads recently, but they are the shadows I have been reaching for so I had to include them. These shadows are just amazing, easy to blend, well pigmented, last all day and they dont crease on me. I  am slowly collecting a range of shades. But the ones I have been reaching for are the matte brown ones. My favourites are:

Latte - A cool toned medium matte brown. I like to use this in the crease or all over the lid.
Frappe - very similar to Latte only more warm in tone. This is a brilliant crease colour.
Coco Bear - A very warmed toned reddish matte brown. I love this in the outer V and along the lower lash line.
Crème Brulee - A light matte brown. The perfect transition shade.
Head over to The Brown Neutral Nude Edit for swatches.

Rimmel Kate Contour palette | £5.99

The drugstore are on fire with the contour releases at the moment. And Rimmel have just lauched this beauty. I picked up the 003 Golden Bronze, because the contour shade is similar to ones I usually go for. The contour shade is matte, mid to dark brown that leans slightly on the warmer side. It also includes a blush and a highlight. I'm not too fussed about the highlight. Its very subtle, but would be great for those who prefer something more understated. The powders aren't that easy to work with. They are well pigmented but hard to blend out. Although, with a bit of extra work they blended out to a nice natural finish, that lasted all day; without going patchy.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lip | £3.50

For lips I've been giving this a whirl. I have a couple of these Matte lips but the shade Chocoberry is my favourite. Its a a pink-y berry shade. I normally don't go for pink lipsticks, but I'm getting ready to embrace spring, summer makeup! The formula of this is great; its creamy, easy to apply and doesn't excentuate any dry area of the lips. Its not as matte as normally like either, but all in all this is a great little budget buy!

Morphe Brushes M521 and M519 | £4.75 Each

I've been intrigued by Morphe brushes for while, but I haven't heard too much about them. Until I heard the lovely Dagmara from Mummy's Beauty Corner Raving about them (Definitely head over and check out her blog). So I hopped over to Beauty Bay to make an order. Although I didn't make a note of the brushes she recommended and I ended up with the M521 and M519. But I'm really happy with them! The M521 one brush is a nice medium sized oval fluffy brush, perfect for adding shadow to the crease, or for blending the edges of shadow seamlessly. M519 is slightly smaller and more tapered; its perfect for adding more definition to the crease or outer V. M519 is ever so slighly scratchy. But at less than £5 I can live with it!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Vs Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette

Powder and I don't normally get on. Having dehydrating skin most powders leave me skin really dry and tight. Which is so frustrating especially when I want my makeup to last longer. After hearing so many good things about the Hourglass powders I knew they would be made for me. However, with the individual powders costing an eye watering £40+ I just couldn't justify spending that kinda cash. So I opted for the makeup Revolation Radiance palette. At two opposite ends of the price scale, today, I thought I'd give you a comparison. To see whether its worth making the investment.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette | £56

I recieved this as a gift from my lovely children on mothers day. To be honest it was a lot smaller than i expected. But the packaging is nice and pleasing on the eye. The palette includes Dim light, incandescent light and radiant light.

Dim Light is a neutral beige colour with slight warm under tones.
Incandescent Light is a light beige colour with neutral under tones.
Radiant light is more bronzy in tone and is ideal for adding warmth to the face.

Each of the powders are designed to add a soft focus finish to the skin. And make the skin appear like it is in a soft candle light lighting. Each of these powders really do add a subtle glow to my complexion. I like to use Dim Light all over my face as a setting powder, Radiant light on my cheek and egdes of the face as a kind of bronzer and Incandescent light on my cheek bones and centre of the face as a subtle hightlighter. All of the powders are butter soft, a dream to apply, they give a nice soft lit from with glow and help my makeup last that little bit longer. And more importantly they don't dry skin out, or feel tight!

Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette | £8

I picked this up a while ago before I got the Hourglass palette, in the hope it would be a good dupe. The packaging is exactly the same as most of the Makeup revolution palettes - sturdy black plastic that houses the powders. I'm not sure of the powder names because they arent printed anywhere. Which is so frustrating! But the shades are very similar to those in the Hourglass palette. A light beige one, a slighter lighter beige with neutral under tones and a bronzy shade. These powders are slightly more shimmery than the hourglass ones. And the lightiest shade (centre of the palette) acts as much more of highlighter, than an illuminating powder. The Bronzy shade also gives a stronger bronzing effect than the Hourglass one, which I actually prefer. These powders are very good, lovely to apply and last all day on the skin. My only issue is that these can sometimes be a little bit drying around my chin area.

Both the palettes are very similar. - as you can see from the swatches below. Only the Makeup Revolution palette has much more of a shimmery highlighting effect. In terms of quality and price point the Makeup Revolution palette wins hands down. However, the Hourglass palette is definitely the one to go for in terms of being subtle and no drying on the skin.

Have you tried these? Which do you prefer?

The Brown Neutral Nude Edit

Browney, neutral, nude colours have been my go to look throughout all of autumn and winter. And while I'm looking forward to spring makeup and experimenting with colour, I'm enjoying the last few weeks of my go to winter look. So today I thought I'd share with you my favourite brown-y nudes.

This palette was such a good investment. It has a range of matte, shimmers and satin finishes, ranging from light medium to black. It can create a beautiful matte wearable, everyday look to something more dramatic in the evening. The shadows are butter soft, well pigmented and easy blend. My favourite shades are kitten, a shimmery Champaign colour, Individual - a medium matte brown and Heart - a matte taupe-y mauve colour.

I just can't get enough of Makeup Geek shadows at the moment - super soft, super pigmented and just all round brilliant! My collection is growing rapidly. But my favourites are the matte brown shades. which are:

Latte - A cool toned medium matte brown. I like to use this in the crease or all over the lid.
Frappe - very similar to Latte only more warm in tone. This is a brilliant crease colour.
Coco Bear - A very warmed toned reddish matte brown. I love this in the outer V and along the lower lash line.
Crème Brulee - A light matte brown. The perfect transition shade.

Sleek A midsummers dream Eye and Cheek Palette | £9.99

I'm not too fussed about the eye shadows in the palette. Its all about the blushes! The palette contains two beautiful brown toned blushes. Sunrise is a bronzy, shimmery shade. This shade needs a light hand though or it can be way over the top. And suede is a lovely matte medium brown that adds warmth and looks stunning on the cheeks!

I can;t believe these blushes are just a pound! The shade Treat in particular is a lovely peach colour that I love using when I don't want matte brown eyes, lips and cheeks - that can look a bit much. This blush isn't the most pigmented blush I own but its perfect when I'm in a rush and I just want a subtle wash of colour.

I couldn't do a brown / nude edit without including my all time favourite nude lipstick! This is my perfect nude lipstick. The shade itself is a brown toned nude with slight pink undertones, in the trusty formula of MACs matte lipstick line. Check out the Nude Lipstick Edit for more of my favourite nude lipsticks.

Miliani Matte Lipstick in the shade Matte Beauty | £5

This is a brilliant affordable matte lipstick. The formula, lasting power and pigmentation are up there with MAC matte lipsticks. The shade is a beautiful mid toned brown. This is also a good dupe for MACs Taupe.

Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencil in the Shade Nude Perfection | £4.99

This is a dream to apply. The fact it's a pencil makes it super convenient and its like having a lip stick and a lip pencil in one! I would say this is a satin finish, its matte but has a very slight sheen to it. The shade itself is a light brown tan shade, with very slight pink under tones. Another plus point is this is super affordable and very easy to get hold of the Uk.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade Bitch Perfect | £23

If matte lipsticks aren't for you than this lipstick from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G line is perfect. Its super hydrating and comfortable on the lips, with pretty impressive staying power. This is a more pinky / coral-y nude, that would probably be more suited to paler skin tones. It will also be perfect for transitioning into the warmer months!

Gerard Cosmetic Hydro Matte Liquid Lipstick | £9.50

I'm obsessed with liquid lipstick at the moment, read my Liquid Lipstick Edit to see some of my current favourites. This offering from Gerard cosmetic in particular is one of the best! The shade Serenity is a more pinky nude, in fact it leans more pink on me but I wanted to include it as it may be a good nude for some skin tones. The formula of this is brilliant, its non drying, dries completely matte really quickly and lasts a good 6+ hours.

Have you tried any of these? What are your favourite nude shades?

Bigger Brighter Eyes

Big bright eyes is something I definitely try to achieve on a daily basis. Not only because they make me look awake - something I struggle with - but they make me look more fresh faced and youthful.  I've come to accept that I'm probably never going to get the recommended number of hours sleep a night! And with my hereatory dark circles,  I turn to makeup. So do I thought I'd share some products that help my eyes look bigger, brighter and more awake!

NYX Above And Beyond Full Coverage Concealer | £5.50

First step to looking awake and having brighter eyes is getting rid of those horrid dark circles! And this concealer is my best friend! Its full coverage and formula means dark circles are banished for the day without creasing or moving. Its yellow toned, which is perfect for counteracting blue tones, which my dark circles are! I then like to go over this with a highlighting concealer.

L'Oréal Lumi Magique concealer | £8.49

If your dark circles aren't that bad this concealer is perfect for brightening up the under eye area. Its lightweight, creamy, easy to blend and doesn't crease! I like to use this over the top of the NYX concealer.

Makeup Geek Eye Shadow Pan | £4.99 each                                                                           POST

A light dusting of a highlighting shadow in the inner corner and brow bone insantly opens up the eye and makes me look more awake. Repuzel and Shimma Shimma are perfect for that. Shimma Shimma is a lovely champagne colour with a frosted finish, that catches the light beautifully. Repunzel is another champagne colour only more peachy in tone.

This is an off white milky shade, that is brilliant for lining the lower water line. Because it's white it instantly make eyes appear bigger and brighter. This lasts around 6 hours in my water line. I also love it as an eye shadow base to.

Essence Big Bright Eyes | £2                                                                                           POST

Another water line brighter that is brilliant! This reminds me of the Benefit Eye Bright pencil but less pink and a fraction of the price! I love this for eye highlighting the brow bone, and inner corner before going in with a powder, to really bring light to those areas.

This is an old favourite! A brilliant nude pencil that works fantastically on the lower water line. This is more under stated than the NYX jumbo pencil, which I prefer, it makes the eyes look bigger in a more natural way. And the formula of this eye liner doesn't smudge or budge on me!

L'Oréal Volume Million Lashes Mascara | £9.99

And lastly, this is no secret to achieving bigger eyes, but a good couple of coats of mascara. This L'Oréal one is great for lengthening and separating the lashes. It has a plastic wand, which I prefer and holds the curl all day.

What are your top products for bigger brighter eyes?
