Makeup Revolution are on fire with their new launches at the moment. I was eager to try the Fortune Favours the Brave palette and I ended up adding a couple of other things to my basket. So today I thought I'd share them with you!
Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours the Brave Palette | £9.99
If you didn't already know this palette was a collaboration with the British Beauty Blogger. As soon as Jane announced the early release of this, I headed straight over to the Makeup Revolution Website to make an order! Can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful it is! The palette itself contains 30 eyeshadows housed in a sturdy gold palette. With a large mirror and a brush. Theres a mixture of matte, shimmers and baked finishes. Ranging from pale pinks to a matte black. The whole idea behind the palette is to bring a range of shades that are suitable for all skin tones. Makeup Revolution are well known for delivering brilliant eyeshadows at ridiculously low cost. And this palette does not disappoint! Almost every colour is well pigmented and easy work. Especially the shimmery ones, they're all buttery soft. Not going to lie some of the paler mattes do lack pigmentations, but as drugstore mattes go these are very good. My favourite shades are:
- Peachy - A peachy pink colour, with a subte shimmer. I like to use this all over the lid.
- Glimmer - A white shimmery highlight shade with pink undertones. A brilliant highlight shade.
- Buffer - A mid to light matte brown. This is a perfect crease colour.
- Favour - A mid toned pink shimmery colour. A great lid colour.
- Fortune - A shimmery Olive colour. I like to use this all over the lid or in the outer V
- Skylight - A shimmery blue, this is a baked one.
- Lonely Planet - a brown olive colour with gold shimmers
- Sunset Hour - a lovely shimmery orange copper. This looks stunning all over the lid.
I am a massive fan of the Radiance palette (see this post here) and glowy skin, plus I'm on a mission to find some great powders for dry / dehydrated skin, so I picked this up. This looks more like the Hourglass Ambiant lighting palette too. This palette is far less shimmery than the radiance palette, and work beautifully as setting powders. This palette doesn't have shade names, which is so frustrating! But anyway the paleist shade is the most shimmery of the 3 and makes a lovely subtle highlight. I like to use the centre shade to set all my make up, and this gives a lovely lit from within glow. The final shade is slightly bronzey, which is perfect for adding a bronzy glow to the skin. I would imagine this would make an excellent bronzer for those have a paler skin. All 3 powders are finely milled, buttery soft, smooth and easily to apply.
Rose Gold packaging ticks all the boxes for me. And this has a very Charlotte Tilbury look about it. The Shade Chauffeur is a beautiful nude colour. Makeup Revolution have the balance between Brown and Pink just right with this shade! The formula is just as brilliant, its a gloss finish thats creamy, comfortable and as £3 lipsticks go it has pretty good staying power!
Have you tried any of these? What are your favourite Makeup Revolution products?Until next time...
