Sundays and the weekend tend to be the days I really play around with makeup, use new products and new looks, because I often have no where to go. So it won't be too much of an issue if I don't like my foundation, or a lipstick doesn't suit me. So today I thought I'd share with you some bits I've been playing around with, and give you my first impressions.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation | £29.50
Magic implies that this will be some sort of miracle in a bottle and hide all skin concerns in one simple step! With five years in the making Charlotte Tilbury offers a full coverage foundation that is weightless on the skin, lasts all day and covers all imperfections. To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this foundation. Its really difficult to blend, and straight after applying it looks flat and dull looking on my dehydrated skin. However, I did notice that this does look better as the day goes on. Strange I know. The coverage is good and it did last all day. But I was just expecting more from it, it being named magic and all!
L.A Girl Pro Concealer | £4.99
I couldn't contain my excitement when I heard these concealers were coming to Beauty Bay. These have been raved about by so many. And I can say this hasn't disappointed me! I got the shade yellow, to help counteract my dark circles (I find yellow works so much better than salmon tones) and this is the best liquid concealer I've found at hiding them! I find thicker, solid concealers are best at hiding them. So I'm so happy to have found this! It lasts all day, doesn't crease and sits beautifully under my NARS creamy concealer! I cant believe this is just £4.99!!!
MAC Satin Blush in the shade Well Dressed | £18
I picked this up a couple of weeks ago. The pale pink mauve-y colour stood out to me straight away. For some reason my camera wont pick this the shade up properly. Its a pink colour with slight mauve under tones. Its well pigmented and easy to blend and lasts all day on the cheeks. This would be a perfect shade for spring summer.
Makeup Geek Eye Shadow pans | £4.95
I picked up some new Makeup Geek shadows earlier in the week. The shades I used are Frappe (a mid to light warm toned brown) Coco Bear (a warmed toned brown) and Bitten (a berry purple shade). I went for a matte warm smokey eye. I used Frappe all over the lip, Coco Bear in the crease, Bitten in the outer V and along the lower lash. I normally like a little a bit of shimmer on my eyes, but I quite like the way this turned out. Makeup Geek shadows are so easy to blend and well pigmented. If you haven't already tried these, I highly recommend them!
MAC Lipstick in the shade Whirl | £15.50
This I picked up at the same time as blush. This shade in particular has been on my list for a long time now. Its mid to dark brown shade with warm under tones. Its a matte formula which I love, they stick around on the lips so much longer I find. I really like this shade, and I'm sure it will become a firm favourite!
Have you tried any of these? What makeup look do go for on the weekends?
Until next time...
