A Few Drugstore Discoveries

I'm struggling to keep up with all the new drugstore launches at the moment! There are so many. I've picked up a few that I've been really enjoying so I thought I'd share them with you.

Rimmel #Insta Flawless | £6.99

The beauty world is going crazy for this whole Instagram filter business. And Rimmel has launched their take on it, in the form of this skin perfecting Radiant skin tint. Its a primer that promises to hide signs of tiredness, give skin a radiant glow and protect the skin. I've been really enjoying this. It has pretty good coverage for skin tint. If you have pretty good skin you could use this alone. It really does give the skin a lovely glow. It also remains kind of tacky, which helps makeup stick to it and last longer. It disappointingly comes in two shades. I have the the darkest shade, Medium. But I'm guessing as its only a primer the shades shouldn't matter too much.

Rimmel Sculpting Palette | £4.99

To be honest Rimmel is a brand I over look for powders for no particular reason. But when these contour kits hit the stand I knew I had to get my hands on one! There are 3 shades of the kit available - which is pretty good for a drugstore brand! I picked up the shade 003 Golden bronze, as the Bronze colour looked the best for contouring. I'm really impressed with the contour and blush shade. They really pack a punch in terms of pigmentation. I did however, find the contour colour a little difficult to blend out, But I did manage it! The blush shade is a lovely coralley rose colour. I'm not too fussed about the highlight shade - its very subtle and does require some building. Its not swatched below because my camera wouldn't pick it very well. But overall, a pretty good kit!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colour | £8.99

I can't get enough of liquid lipsticks at the moment! My obsession led me to these. With promises of high impact lip colour and a velvety moisturing formula I just had to pick up two shades - Seduction and Devotion. Seduction is a pinky nude colour and Devotion is a more bold pink colour, perfect for spring / summer. Now the name 'Matte' is very misleading. This didn't dry matte me at all, they remained quite glossy. But I actually really like the finish of them! The formula is brilliant too - they're opaque and have a kind of mousey texture. The texture reminds me of the NYX soft matte lip creams. They really comfortable on the lips and because the don't dry matte it makes it super easy to apply on the go. If you not looking for a matte finish, I'd definitely recommend these.

Revlon Ultimate All-in-one Mascara | £9.99

Revlon was on 3 for 2 so to complete the offer I decided to try one of their new mascaras. I went for the Ultimate all in one because it promises to do everything - lengthen, seperate and add volume. And it really does! It has a really small plastic wand, which at first I found annoying because it took longer to apply. But its really good for getting every single lash, even those annoying ones in the inner corner! It holds the curl all day, doesn't flake or smudge. An all round good mascara!

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick | £6.50

NYX is quickly becoming one of my favourite drugstore brands and their Suede Liquid Lipsticks are one of my favourite formulas. So when the Lip Lingerie launched it was no brainer. I picked up the darkest shade of the lot, Exotic. I'm not really sure why, I'm guessing its because I wanted a shade that I didn't really have. With the whole line pretty much being nude there wasn't much dissimilar to what I already own. A decision I'm regretting though, because I love the formula! Its not overly liquidy (if that makes sense) Making the application really easy. The Doe Foot applicator is way better than the suede liquid lipsticks. I've heard some people say that these are really drying. But I didn't find that was the case. I could feel it drying but once it had it felt like I had nothing on my lips. I definitly need to get more of these!

Seventeen Skin WOW Concealer | £4.99

Seventeen is  a seriously underrated drugstore brand! I'm a huge fan of the Skin Wow primer so when i saw this concealer I was sold. Plus how beautiful is the packaging! 10 out of 10 for packaging. But not only is the packaging stunning the concealer itself is brilliant. Its a highlighting concealer, so it works perfectly under the eyes. I picked up the shade fair. The consistancy is slightly thicker than most highlighting concealers, but still on the thin side, its easy to blend and doesn't crease. The coverage is really good and it sits beautifully over my NYX correcting concealer!

Have you tried any of these? What have you discovered from the drugstore recently?

Until next time...
