A Few Drugstore Discoveries

I was trying to be a bit more restrained with buying makeup the last couple of weeks. Obviously it didn't go well. And here I am with a few drugstore goodies to share...

L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation | £9.99

There was no way on this earth I was going to be able to resist buying this! After hearing rave reviews about this from across the pond, it feels like us Brits have been waiting forever for this! Aside from the dodgy shade range, I'm not disappointed. I'm not too sure of the point in the cushion though. But the product itself is brilliant. It has a light to medium coverage that's buildable, it's so lightweight and blends out with ease. It leaves behind a lovely glow-y (but not to glow-y) finish. And I'm so impressed with the staying power. It lasted all day - without going patchy or flaky. I went for the shade Rose Beige which is actually slightly too pale for me. Which is annoying but I still make it work.

L'Oreal Glam Bronze Cushion De Soliel | £12.99

This claims to be a fresh glow bronzer. Again, I'm not to sure of the point of the whole cushion thing but like the foundation I'm very happy with this. It really does give a fresh, glow-y bronze look to the skin. Without any glitter or shimmer - its amazing! I just dabbed a stippling brush into the cushion and applied to the areas of the face the sun would naturally hit and I was looking fresh, radiant and glow-y.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick | £6.99

Another new launch that I've been patiently been waiting for has finally landed in the form of the Maybelline liquid lipsticks. I actually manage to order 2 of the same shade, which is a bummer, but the shade Nude Thrill is so pretty. Its a lovely Brown toned nude. The formula is great too. It reminds me of the Revlon Ultra HD liquid Lipsticks ( see this post) and the NYX soft Matte Creams. Its more matte than the Revlon ones but doesn't dry down like NYXs one. Basically, its a really comfortable almost matte liquid lipstick!

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick | £9

If you follow me over on Instagram you'll know how obsessed I am with these. This new line of lipsticks have been released in 3 different finishes - Matte, Satin and Gloss, In three different categories - Reds, Pinks and Nudes. I picked a shade from each colour category. Cinnamon Beige (Nude) Which is a non drying very creamy matte. Pommie Girl (Pink) which is again is creamy matte finish and the shade is a lovely Blue toned Pink. And Wine Not from the red category which is a deep wine colour, with a satin finish. Each of these are so comfortable, pigmented and long wearing. I want the whole range! And the packaging of this just stunning!

I picked another soft matte cream in the shade Zurich. I have a couple of these now and the formula is great - they're matte, comfortable and long lasting. The shade is a pinky Brown nude. I find with any lipsticks with a slight orange undertone really look orange on me. Which is annoying because I want it to look how it does in the tube.

Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint | £4.99

Barry M have launched a new line of Coconut Infused Nail polishes. Which offer hydration to nails while giving a high gloss long lasting finish. To be honest I'm not quite sure how a nail polish would penetrate the nail enough to offer hydrating properties but I love the idea, and the shades are so pretty. I picked up the shade Laguna which is a stunning, Light Blue shade -  perfect for summer. And the shade Starfish which is lovely beige nude colour.

NYX HD Banana Powder | £8

I featured this in my NYX roundup but I was so impressed with it I wanted to include it here. It's a finely milled, lightweight finishing powder, that has a slight Yellow finish to brighten the face. I love this for setting my under eye concealer. Its really sets the area without taking any of the brightness away, it's non drying and doesn't look cakey. Overall, A very good drugstore powder!

L'Oreal Sexy Balm | £4.99

L'Oreal Describe this as a 'life Proof balm' that offers 12 hours of moisture, in a high pigment gel like formula. Just a heads up this isn't life proof, it wears just like a normal balm. I picked up the shade As If which is a Peachy, Coral nude. As it is a balm it's comfortable and does offer moisture and a lot of colour. This is a great low maintenance, throw on and go balm.

So that's everything I've discovered from drugstore recently. What have you discovered recently? Have you tried any these?

Until next time...
