If I Could Only Keep 10 Items Of Makeup...

I was having a read through Beautylymin's Blog when I came across the 'If I could only keep 10 items of makeup'. I thought it'd be a fun way of showing some of my 'holy grail' products.

The thought of actually only keeping 10 makeup items makes me wince! I like lots of options. And to be honest I sometimes use more than 10 products on my face at a time so it was a tough call. I kind of cheated too, I have 11 products! So lets see what they are...

Becca Backlight Primer filter | £32 | POST

Primer is an essential of mine. Having dehydrated skin it's essential to stopping my skin drinking the moisture out of my foundation. And the Becca primer is easily my favourite primer! It adds such lovely radiance to skin without any glitter and leaves behind a nice smooth base for makeup.

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue | £27 | POST

Foundation was such a tough one and I have so many. It was so difficult to choose between a current favourite and an all time favourite. But I opted for this one from BareMinerals. It has kind of crept up on me as a favourite and use almost everyday. It has good meduim, buildable coverage and really good staying power. But it's the finish of this which I love. It gives such an amazing glow, but not too glowy. It's also hydrating so it doesn't irritate my dehydrated skin.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette | £59

I could have probably done without these in my top 10 (or top 11) but I feel like I need a powder option. And these are by far the best powders I've tried. They set makeup down without being mattifying and they leave such a healthy radiant glow to the skin. See my full review here.

LA Pro Girl Concealer | £5 | POST

Concealer is another product I cannot live without. My super bad dark circles have been well documented throughout this blog. The LA Girl Yellow Corrector concealer is one of the best I've tried at hiding my dark circles. The formula is creamy, light and easy to blend. I find this doesn't crease on me either.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer | £22 | POST

If I'm using a corrector then I need a regular shade of concealer on top, so this NARS concealer would also be in my 10. It has amazing coverage, doesn't crease, it's creamy, it works well on belmishes and under the eyes. There's nothing not to love about this concealer!

Sleek Solitice Highlighting Palette | £9.99

I can't remember a day when I haven't used highlighter; it has become a daily staple in my makeup routine. And this little affordable palette is perfect. It gives such a beautiful glow. It really isn't for the faint hearted. It has 3 powders and one cream formula. The cream one is super creamy, easy to blend but dried down well so it doesn't move. The powders are so soft, finely milled and easy to work with. See my full review with swatches here.

L'Oreal Indallible Blush trio  | £7.99 | POST

Without blush I just look flat so I couldn't not have one. This one from L'Oreal is brilliant and I'm really surprised it isn't talked about more. The shade Nude Beige is a lovely Bronze colour that suits my skin so well. It's really ogmented and blends so easily.

Makeup Geek Shadow Pans | £4.95 - £7.95 each

My small Z palette with my favourite Make Geek shadows would also be in my top 10. There in a palette so it definitely counts as one, right. All the shadows in my experience are soft, well pigmented and so easy to blend and work with. My favourite shadows are:

Rapunzel - A lovely Champagne toned highlight shade.

Creme Brulee - A mid toned, matte , warm Brown. This is my perfect transition shade.

Frappe - This is another matte warm Brown but its slightly darker than Creme Brulee so it's perfect for deepening the crease colour.

Cocoa Bear - This is a very warm Red toned, matte Brown, This is great either in the crease for a dramtic eye look or in the outer v and lower lash line.

Grandstand - This is just one of the prettiest eyeshadows I own. It's from the Foil Finish Line so it's so pigmented and incredibly creamy. It's a shimmery Rose Gold colour with cool undertones. This looks so beautiful all over the lid.

Cosmoplitian - Another great lid colour. This is a shimmery warm Rose Gold colour.

Cherry Cola  - This is a very warm toned Red Brown that I love in the outer v.

Marrocco - This is a bold Red with Brown undertones. I love the shade for warming up the overall eye look. I lightly dap a big fluffy brush in it and blend over all the crease colours. It works so well at warming up the eye look, without altering the colour of the other shades or looking too over the top.

Americano - This works so well as an outer V shade. Its a dark Brown colour with Purple under tones.

Lancome Grandiose liner | £23* | POST

This was the product that made it 11 items. But not necessarily this eye liner specifically but a liquid liner in general, I have to have 1. I rarely go without a wing. But this liner in particular is so good. The applicator is so small, which allows precision. The liner itself is so Black and stays Black all day. It doesn't flake or smudge. Its just brilliant!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99

Regular readers just skip past this part. It's well documented my love for this mascara. And Mascara is essential for finishing any makeup look! This works so well adding length and volume. It holds the curl all day. Its just brilliant.

MAC Lipstick in the shade Velvet Teddy | £15.50 | POST

Picking a lip product was such a tricky decision. I wanted to pick a gloss, a satin and matte! But I managed to settle for just one. And the Winner was MAC Velvet Teddy. It's the perfect everyday nude shade. It's more of a Brown with slight Pink undertones. It's from the matte line which is my favourite. It's not drying and so creamy to apply. It lasts a good 4-5 hours too!

So they're my top 11 makeup items I would keep if I had to. Lets hope that day doesn't come! What are yours?

Until next time...
