Makeup Lately

There have been so many exciting launches recently and I've thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with them. There're also a few old favourites that have stuck around lately too. So lets jump in to it...

Boots Time Delay Flawless Primer | £10.99 | POST

This has been my go to primer of late. I've never used one that has such great blurring properties. It has more of a silicone feel, which I don't tend to like, I find them too drying for my dehydrated skin. But this isn't drying at all. It just melts into the skin and blurs everything! I'm amazed by this!

Tarte Dead Sea Foundation | £31.20 (Including a brush)

For foundation I've been testing this offering from Tarte. To be honest I'm still on the fence about it. While I do really like it - it has a solid medium coverage and lasts well - I wanted it to be more glow-y. It's not a matte finish, it's more satin, but still gives a subtle radiance about the skin. I have foundations I prefer, but overall this is a pretty good one.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye | £23.64 (including a brush)

Wow is the best why to describe this concealer! It is really good. It's very thick and definitely full coverage and works brilliantly at concealing dark circles. A tiny amount, and I mean tiny goes such a long way too. It blends easily considering it's so thick. I did find it creases if I don't set it. And I (for some reason) went for the palest shade. It's so pale, almost White so I do have to apply a darker concealer over the top. But I don't mind because I love the concealer so much! It's also good news for those with very pale skin,

W7 Banana Dreams | £4.78 | POST

To set my concealer I've been really loving this. Its a loose Yellow powder that works under the eye so well. It's not drying, nor does it leave a Yellow cast behind. Its also really good at brightening the area too. And it's so affordable! I definitely recommend checking this out! W7 isn't overly available in shops in the Uk (well not that I've seen) but you can find them on Amazon and Ebay.

Lancome Grandiose liner | £23*

Liquid liner is something that I've also thought you don't need to pay high end prices for. Until I tried this! It is probably the best liquid liner I've every used. The tip is so fine, making lining or drawing a wing super easy. It's also really Black and doesn't fade or flake throughout the day. It also has a handle that can bend in different directions to make drawing a wing easier. I didn't find it did though because I'm not used to it. But I can't recommend this enough!

Essence Make Me Brow | £2.50  | POST

I've been really enjoying setting my brows with this recently. The wand is very small which makes it really easy to comb and shape the brow into place. Once it dries it holds them all day. I have the shade which I don't find overly pigmented but it works great as just a brow gel.

Anatashia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette | £42

I sat patentially waiting for this eye shadow palette to launch. I knew as soon I saw a picture of it I just had to have it. I love warm tones and pretty much all of the shadows in this palette are warm. The formula is incredible. All the shades are butter soft, have brilliant colour pay off and blend out so easily. I love the whole bottom row. But my absolute favourites are Burnt Orange and Red Ochre. See my full review with swatches here.

Kat Von D shade and light palette | $46

I recently expressed my undying love for this palette in Contour Palettes | The good, The bad and The ugly. So I won't go into too much detail. But this is my current favourite for contour. My favourite shade is the middle one. But all the shades are soft, creamy and easy to blend. The middle one really give the illusion of a natural shadow and makes my check bones pop!

Becca Jacalyn Hill Champagne Pop Face palette | £48 | POST

For highlight and blush this palette has been my go to. The palette houses two highlighter; including the famous Champagne Pop and Prosecco Pop which is a new addition and 3 blushes. My favourite blush is Amaretto which a lovely muted Brown with Rose-y undertones. It lasts well and blends easily on the cheeks. See my full review and swatches here.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99

No surprises here for regular readers. This is my favourite mascara and I haven't wanted to branch out. This is the best mascara; it does it all: Holds the curl all day, lengthening and volumises the lashes. Just a fab all round mascara. It easily rivals high end ones!

NYX Butter Gloss | £5.50 | POST

I found myself reaching for either a fuss free, easy wear gloss or a full on matte liquid lipstick. And my gloss of choice has been this beauty in the shade Madeleine. It's a perfect Brown nude colour. The formula of the NYX Butter Glosses are amazing. They really do feel like butter and aren't sticky at all.

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick | £9.50

I've spoke about my love for the Gerard Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks on a few occasions. The formula is so good. They're super matte and longlasting. I wouldn't say they are hydrating but they're not drying.  I've found myself reaching for shade Everything Nice. Which is a Brown colour. It's quite a bold Brown on me, which I really like.

NYX Dewy Setting Spray | £7

To set everything down I've been reaching for this. This is great setting spray! It really does keep my makeup in place all day. Although it described as dewy it didn't find it added any extra glow but it definitely doesn't make it matte. My only issue is the spray isn't very fine. But at £7 who can complain.

So thats some of the makeup I've been reaching for lately. Have you tried any of these? What are you thoughts?

Until next time...
