My Travel Makeup Picks

I'm not actually going on holiday this year. Meh,  I'm getting married in September so that's where all my funds are going! But I am heading up to Birmingham for a few days with the girls for my hen party. I'm super excited so I thought I'd share my makeup picks I'll be taking along with me...

Estee Lauder Illuminating primer | £25  | POST

My love for a good glow is no secret on this blog. And I've been loving this primer lately. It's perfect for giving the face a subtle glow but still extending the wear time of foundation. It also leaves my skin noticeably smoother.

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done | £25 | POST

This is my go to base of choice at the moment. There's nothing not to love - it lasts well, has good coverage, has a natural finish. Pretty much everything you would want for a base.

Becca Champagne Pop Face Palette | £42

I've picked this palette because it has everything in one place. The blush shade Amaretto is a perfect daytime shade. Then there are two others to create something more dramatic for the evening. It also has the famous Champagne Pop highlighter which is the most stunning Champagne toned highlighter. And Processco Pop which is more Gold in tone. The palette itself is also very sturdy so ideal for travelling. See my full review here.

Kat Von D Shade and Light palette | £46 | POST

Contouring probably isn't essential for your average holiday but we going for a night out so I want something more than nice day makeup. This palette is easily one of the best contour palettes I've tried. It has 3 dark shades that I imagine would work for most skin tones, and 3 highlighter shades. My favourite are the two middle shades. The darker one is a perfect shade for creating shadows and the lighter Yellow shade is perfect for setting under the eyes. It brightens the whole area and looks so good in photos! I definitely recommend this palette when Kat Von D comes to Debenhams. See this post for swatches.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer | £17.50 | POST

I'm going to need a concealer I rely on so that calls for none other than the Naked Skin Concealer. The texture is so light and creamy but still gives amazing coverage. It works on the blemishes and under the eyes, without moving or cracking!

LA Girl Pro HD Concealer | £5 | POST

Regular readers will know my struggle with dark circles. They are so bad so colour correcting is a must for me and the LA Concealer works so well for me. paired with the Naked Skin Concealer my dark circles are gone!

Makeup Geek Shadow Pans | £5.50 - £8.50

For eye shadows I'll be taking my Z palette with my favourite Makeup Geek Shadow Pans. Makeup Geek Shadows are really easy to work with, and well pigmented. Although I'm not to pleased that Beauty Bay has increased the price of these. But they're still not bad value for money. The shades are:

Runpzel - This is great Champagne highlight shade. But I really like it as an eye shadow base.

Creme Brulee - A light warm toned Brown. This a perfect crease colour.

Cosmopolitian - A lovely Rose Gold colour. This looks great all over the lid.

Frappe - This is very similar to Latte only more warm in tone.

Cocoa Bear - A stunning warm, Reddish Brown colour. I love this in the outer V, crease and sometimes all over the lid.

Cherry Cola - This is very similar to Bitten. It looks Purple in the pan but I find it translates to a Reddish, warm toned Brown.

Grandstand - This is one of the prettiest shades I own. It's a foil finish so really packs a punch in terms of shimmer. The shade is a Rosey Coppery shimmer colour. This looks stunning all over the lid.

Americano - This is a dark Brown with Purple under tones. It works well as an outer V shade or to smoke an eye look.

Morocco - Is a warm toned Red. I love this shade for warming the over all eye look.

With these shades I create my favourite daytime or evening eye looks. See this post for swatches.

Lancome Gradiose Liner* | £23  | POST

On a night out I love a winged liner. This liner is perfect for creating one. The tip is really precise. The formula is super Black and stays Black all day. Perfect for a long night of dancing.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade | £15 | POST

For smudge proof brows that will last all day or night, dip brow is the best. It does take slightly longer than some brow products but the finish is well worth it. It gives me full, yet natural looking brows.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.99 | POST

Regular readers skip past this part. I'm running out of things to say about this mascara. It's amazing! It gives length and volume. Doesn't flake, smudge or budge. And it is ridiculously cheap.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick In the shade Very Victoria | £23 | POST

This is lovely Brown lipstick that might be a good nude on darker skin tones. This is from the Charlotte Tilbury matte lipstick line so it's really long lasting. The formula is also super creamy and comfortable. This is perfect the day to night shade.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in the shade Naked | £15 | POST

A good nude lipstick is a fail safe travel makeup essential. The shade Naked is a Pink tone that works well with any makeup look. It's from the cream line so it has a slightly sheen finish, that's super comfortable.

L'Oreal Mega Gloss | £7.99

This is one of my newest favourites. I've been really enjoying a super glossy lip. The shade Disco Ball gives a super glossy, wet look to the lips. It also has an almost metallic look to it - which i've been loving lately. I love this as a lip topper over lipsticks.

So there you have a few that are in my travel makeup bag. What are your picks?

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
