As I'm writing this it is the first official day of autumn! How is this possible? I think I blinked and missed summer. But I'm not complaining autumn / winter is my favourite time of year. And while I was really getting into summer makeup and embracing bright colours, I'm ready for a change. So I thought I'd share some of my autumn makeup that will be getting a lot of love...
Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick | £23 | POST
I have been raving about this throughout summer but I'm sure I'm going to love it even more in the cooler months. This is a great creamy, lightweight base, with a satin finish. I'd say it has medium coverage but it's easily build-able. Don't let the fact this is a stick foundation put you off, this is far from the regular pan sticks that are thick and cakey. This also lasts all day on me. And because it's a stick it's super easy for touch up on the go!
Urban Decay One & Done | £25 | POST
Autumn makeup screams matte skin to me. But I have a love hate relationship with matte foundations - I love the finish but with dehydrated skin they are too drying and uncomfortable, especially in the colder months. But this offering from Urban Decay is the perfect compromise. It has a very natural satin finish, that doesn't leave my skin looking flat or cakey. The coverage is really good too, it's light to medium but definitely more on the medium side. It's also build-able if you want more coverage. The staying power is incredible, this lasts a good 6+ hours on me!
Urban Decay Beached Bronzer | £20 | POST
I like to look tanned all year round. But in autumn I like to opt for a matte option that doesn't look over the top. So I will be reaching for this beauty from Urban Decay in the shade Bronzed. It's a lovely warm toned bronzer that adds a natural sun kissed looked to the skin. The formula is insanely good. It's finely milled so it applies effortlessly, evenly and blends easily, and doesn't fade.
Max Factor Cream Puff Blush | £8.99
I love switching out my blushers as the weather turns colder, it's the perfect way to transform a look. Nude Mauvey colours are perfect for this time of year, or any time of year, but for the purposes of this post will go with autumn. And the shade is a perfect nude Mauve colour. That looks stunning on. The formula of these Max Factor offerings are some of the best in the drugstore. While I do find them a little powdery, they apply well, are easily to blend and well pigmented.
Milani Baked Blush | £7.50
Another affordable blush favourite comes in the form of these Milani Baked Blushes. The shade Berry Amore is one of my favourite autumn / winter blushes. I have a soft spot for these Purple, Berry tones; they suit my skin tone so well. If you haven't already tried Milani Baked Blushes you need too. The formula is so soft, blend able and long lasting. Plus the packaging is pretty!
Anastisia Beverly Hills Modern Renassiance Palette | £41 | POST
Who am I trying to kid! I've been using this palette all summer! But it's far too nice not to take through to the autumn. And the shades are perfect for the season! This contains 15 mainly warm toned shadows that can create any look, from a subtle daytime to something more dramatic. Majority of the shades are matte, but I've been really been embracing a matte eye look, plus it's perfect for those who don't like shimmer. But for the shimmer lovers there are Two in beautiful shimmery shades in there. See my full review and swatches here.
NYX Full Throttle Lipstick | £5.50
The shade Kiss the Dust is a deep Brown toned nude. This actually is a lot more bold than a regular nude on me which I really like in autumn. Sometimes I find a deep Berry colour a bit too ott for everyday. So I love these kind of shades. The formula of this is so good. It applies so easily and is so creamy but it's so matte! The finish is similar to a liquid lipstick, but a lot easier to apply! It has the staying power of a liquid lipstick too. I'm sure this will be a firm autumn favourite!
Maybelline Colour Drama Matte Lipstick | £6.99 | POST
I had to include this because it's quickly become one of my favourite lipsticks. I'm sure you already know but the famous shade Clay Crush has finally come to the Uk! The shade itself is a beautiful Brown-y nude with Orange undertones. The formula is super creamy, pigmented and long lasting. While I don't find this as matte as some of the other shades from the Creamy Matte range, it's still pretty matte and very good as drugstore lipsticks go.
Essie Nail Polishes | £7.99
Deep Berry toned nails scream autumn to me! And the trusty formula of Essie polishes mean chip resistant nails for a good few days. My favourite Autumn shades are, In The Lobby (a deep Red wine colour) and Wicked, which is very similar to In the lobby but it's much darker and slightly more Brown toned.
So there's some products I'll be using. What are your favourite products for autumn?
P.S I just wanted to let you know that I won't be posting on Sunday. For those who didn't know I'm getting married on Saturday so I'm crazy, busy in the last few days! But I will be back Tuesday as normal!
