The Lipstick Report

Despite being on a spending ban I seem to have acquired a lot of new lip products. We're just gonna pretend that I didn't buy them! But anyway it means I get to share them with you guys so it's not all bad. Some of these have been welcomed additions and some were a bit of a waste of money so lets get into it...

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks | £15

I'm sure you all know about the new Urban Decay Vice lipsticks. So I picked up a couple. I got the shades Naked and Temper. Naked is lovely Pink nude that is great for everyday wear. It has a cream finish with a sheen to it, so it's super comfortable on the lips. Temper is a bright Orange toned Red, from the comfort matte line. Granted this is probably more of a summer shade. But makeup has no rules and I totally plan on wearing this all year round! The comfort matte line is incredible, the formula is super creamy, comfortable, long lasting and more importantly matte. I can't recommend this lipsticks enough, I'll definitely be getting more shades.

Freedom Pro Melts Lip Gloss | £3

The shade D-Ream is such a pretty Brown, toned nude with a hint of Pink. I'm not sure why this is called a lip gloss, it's definitely more of a melted lipstick. It applies completely opaquely in one swipe, which really surprised me as it was so cheap. It has a satin finish with a slight sheen to it. My first impressions were I really liked it. But after a hour or two of wear it really dried my lips out. Which isn't good considering it's not even matte! So for that reason this will be going to the back of my stash.

I heart Makeup Lip Lava | £2.99

This instantly reminded me of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks, the applicator is very similar too. But to honest I'm not a massive fan that you have to squeeze the product out, but that aside the product is really good! It's opaque, and is very much like a melted satin liquid lipstick. The shade is a Pinky, nude! This is also really cheap, I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it!

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Lip Paint | £4.99

I've kind of gone on a melted lipstick craze! So when these Maybelline ones hit the shelves I was instantly drawn to them. But the only shade that I was drawn too was 610, Stripped Down; it's a lovely Pink, kind of Mauve-y shade. The formula is very similar to the I Heart Makeup one. So I probably don't need both. But I have both and I'm enjoying them.

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick | £6.99

I love the Maybelline Creamy Matte line (I have a full review here) but the Uk shade range was rubbish compared to the US, but a few new shades have come to the Uk. One of which is the famous Clay Crush. So I rushed straight to Boots as soon as I heard the news. And the shade is even nicer in the flesh! It's a beautiful Brown-y nude with Orange under tones. The formula is so creamy, it glides on the lips with ease. It has amazing staying power and is not drying. Although, I did find it isn't as matte as some of the other shades from the range, but it is still pretty matte! I love it, I definitely recommend this!

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick | £23

This was a kind birthday present from one of my friends. The shade Bond Girl, from the Matte Revolution Line has been on my List for the longest time! However, I'm slightly disappointed by it. The shade is lovely, a beautiful Plum-y Brown, that's not too bold and perfect for a hint of colour that isn't too over the top. But this does take a good 3 swipes for it to be full opaque. And I found it drying too. Which for a £23 lipstick isn't great. I feel like with Charlotte Tilbury your just paying for the packaging, granted, it is pretty stunning packaging!

The last swatch in the picture is L'Oreal Mega Gloss in the shade Disco Ball, I'm not sure how that got in the picture!

So there's a little a round up of some new lipstick additions I added to my collection.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
