Vampy, Easy Halloween Makeup

I love all the activities that autumn brings; Halloween, Bomb fire night, build up to Christmas, christmas activities. And with halloween only a couple of weeks away I thought I'd share a halloween makeup look. I'm not one for fancy dress and these amazing half skull tutorials that are all over Youtube at the minute; A) because my makeup skills are not that good and B) I just feel stupid. Wearing a pair of cat ears is probably as good as it's gonna get! But this year I do have a halloween party to go to so I thought I'd partake. I'm not doing anything too crazy, scary or that requires some form of makeup qualification. Just a dark, vampy look. Like an over the top autumnal look...

Lancome Tient Idole Cushion Foundation | £27 | POST

Any base will do which is why I haven't included primer and concealer. I'll be going for my normal everyday base. But for halloween I wanted something slightly more matte rather than glow-y. And this Lancome foundation is perfect for that. The finish is satin so it's the perfect inbetween for dehydrated skin. The coverage is medium (but build-able), to full. It covers pretty much anything. It stays put on me all day so it's great for parties, so I wont have to worry about my base.

Makeup Revolution Blush | £1

Normally I like a blush that adds a glow and something else to the cheeks. But I wanted this look to be all about the eyes and lips. So I will reaching for this offering from Makeup Revolution. The shade Treat is a really nice Peachy nude, that adds a subtle wash of colour to the cheeks without distracting from the rest of the makeup.

Makeup Geek Shadow Pans | £5.50

A deep Purple smokey eye is perfect for the halloween look. It adds that almost scary, dramatic look. I have a few MUG shades that are perfect:

Brownie Points - this is a muted Taupe colour that works well as a crease, transitional shade.

Toxic - This is a shimmery Purple colour. That works well all over the lid. I don't know why but there's something about these Purple colours that scream halloween to me.

Vintage - This is muted mid to dark Plumy Brown colour. I like to use this after Brownie Points to deepen the crease colour.

Americano - This a muted deep Brown colour. This works well in the outer V to smoke out the whole look and lower lash line.

All these shades are well pigmented and easy to work with. See this post for my full collection and swatches.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner | £16 | POST

I rarely do any makeup look with out winged liner so halloween will be no exception. I just love this Kat Von D liner. It's so Black and easy to create a wing or just to line the upper lash line. It lasts all day and night on me without smudging or anything. Making it a good choice for parties!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kolh pencil | £3.99

For a really deep, vampy look lots of black liner is needed! This works so well in the lower water line and tight line. I tend to find most pencils in my water line wear off after and hour but not this. This is also really easy to smoke out.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | £7.95

No makeup look is complete without a good few coats of mascara. I'm running out of different ways to describe this mascara; it's just the best in the drugstore! It gives amazing length and volume. But without being clumpy. It holds the curl all day, it's just brilliant.

Red Cherry Lashes | £3.99*

False eye lashes finish the look and add so much drama! I love these Red Cherry lashes in the style #523.  I'm not a big false lash wearer but these have really changed my mind. The band is thin, which means they're so easy to apply seamlessly. They're also really light. I got these from Falseeyelashes.co.uk. Which sell pretty much everything eye lash related. You can also get 10% of with the code LASH10.

MAC Stone | £15.50 | POST

Stone is the ultimate grungy lip shade. It's a cool Grey, Brown colour. It's so unique I haven't seen anything like this before. It's from the matte line, but it's still creamy, comfortable and long lasting. This is the perfect way to finish a halloween makeup look.

Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick | £6.99 | POST

For a more affordable option to Stone, a deep Wine colour is a great vampy alternative. Devine Wine is a stunning deep Wine colour. In a really creamy matte formula. The staying powder is incredible and it's so comfortable on the lips!

So theres some halloween makeup inspiration. What kind of halloween makeup will you be going for?

Until next time...
