Current Autumn Base Rotation

When Autumn rolls around I like to switch up my base products. There's something about autumn / winter that calls for matte skin. Having dehydrated skin means totally matte foundations aren't always an option. So most foundations here have a satin finish which I've found to be a safe bet. So let's get in to it...

Milani Concealer and Perfect 2in1 Foundation | £11 | POST

This foundation is so affordable and really amazing. It's a full coverage foundation with a good satin finish. The formula is light and easy to blend, which is something affordable foundations lack. I tend to find with full coverage, cheaper foundations they are quite thick and difficult to work with. But not this! It has everything you would expect from a high-end foundation but with a super cheap price tag. This is a great Autumn foundation and it makes the perfect base for any products going on top.

Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation | £27 | POST

Another addition to the Autumn base lineup is this offering from Urban Decay. I've seen this get a few mixed reviews but I actually really like it. It's a matte but not flat finish, which works surprisingly well on my dehydrated skin. This too, is light and easy to blend. The staying power is incredible, it lasts all day on me. I have the 4.0 which is perfect match for my skin. And to top this foundation off the packaging is stunning.

Clinique Chubby In the Nude Stick Foundation | £23 | POST

This nifty stick foundation was a favourite in summer but it will be coming into Autumn with me. Even though this is a stick foundation it's light, creamy and so easy to blend! This has a satin finish, but I imagine it would be easy to matte down, should you require. The coverage is light to medium so perfect for those 'no makeup' days. I have heard that on some this doesn't last will, but I don't have a problem here, it lasts a good 6+ hours on me.

Urban Decay Makeup Skin One & Done | £25 | POST

This is another foundation that was on my face most of summer. But this is another one that is too good to be left there. This is a tinted moisturiser hybrid that has surprisingly good coverage for this kind of base - A solid medium coverage. The finish is satin, but this could also be made more matte or more glowy, everything works so well on top of this. Again this has brilliant staying power! I don''t think the shade range is great, I believe there are 5 to choice from. But if you can get a good match this would be a staple in anyones makeup bag!

So there's a little round of some of my favourite foundations that will be in rotation this Autumn.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
