Not a lot has changed in terms of makeup over the last month. I spent the past month concerned with mainly skincare. But the plus note is that what I have been reaching for I do really love!
Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation | £27 (currently £24.30 here) | POST
I've spoken about this a lot lately so I won't go into too much detail (you can see my full review here) But I've been reaching for this a lot! It's the perfect matte, but flat foundation for my dehydrated skin. This does have an amazing full coverage, so you only need a tiny amount. I like to use one small pump and this is enough for my whole face. Despite being a full coverage foundation this isn't thick and the formula is really easy to blend. As for lasting all night, this does have brilliant staying power, so I imagine it would!
Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation | £12.99 | POST
Another foundation I've been reaching for is this. And I've been really enjoying it. This is super convenient to use because it's in a compact. The finish is a perfect glow-y but not too glow-y. The coverage is medium but without a masking effect. And the staying powder is good, not the best out of all the foundations I own but not bad. This is a great drugstore gem.
Morphe Concealer | £4.50
This is a new addition to my concealer collection that I've been quite enjoying it. The formula is quite thick compared to some of my favourites (Nars, Urban Decay) but still blend-able. The coverage is really good too, 2 layers and my dark circles are disguised. I do like to set this though as it can be prone to creasing. I have the shade Oats which is perfect for highlighting but as £5 concealers go this is very good!
RCMA No Colour Powder | £10.50 | POST
To set everything down this has been my go to. This powder is amazing! It really sets everything down, without altering makeup. I love a glow-y foundations and I find most powders matte them right down, but not this. It really just sets it so it lasts all day. If you see this in stock, I highly recommend picking it up.
Zoeva Contour Kit | £15
I've finally stepped away from my greatly loved Kat von D Shade and Light palette, for this. This little palette from Zoeva houses 4 powders, 2 contouring shades, a Yellow shade and highlighter. To be honest I'm a little disappointed with this palette. The highlighter shade and one of the contour shades are the same as the ones in the Rose Golden palette. I do really like the highlighter though, it looks straight up White in the pan but transforms into a Golden, Champagne tone on the cheeks. But I don't need too. The lighter contour shade doesn't work well for my skin tone, it's too pale. The Yellow shade in the palette is ok but nothing to write home about. The darker contour shade works well for me and the winner in the palette. If you don't have the Rose Golden palette this would be a nice addition. I definitely would say you don't need them both.
ColourPop Shadow Shock Blush | $8
I've found myself reaching for this stunning blush almost everyday. It's so pretty. It's a gorgeous Rust colour with shimmers running through it. The shimmer translates to a soft glow on the cheeks. This does look really bold but it blends out really nicely! This is also perfect for autumn / winter.
Jeffree Star Highlighter | £25.50
Following the success I had with his liquid lipstick. I really wanted to try more from Jeffree Stars range. Which pains me because I really don't like him. Anyway I decided to try the famous King Tut Highlighter. It's a stunning Gold colour that would suit medium to dark skin tones best. It looks gorgeous on the cheeks and catches the light for really intense glow. This isn't the softest of highlighters, which I was expecting after hearing all the broken horror stories, but still a really nice addition. And the pan is huge! I won't be running out of this anytime soon.
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette | £18
This is one of my favourite palettes and I put it back into rotation because I was excited for the new eyeshadow launches from Zoeva. And I'd forgotten how much I love it. It contains 10 eyeshadows all inspired by Chocolate and all things sweet. Each shade is well pigmented and easy to blend. I've been experimenting with all the shades. But my favourites are: Warm Notes (a stunning shimmery Cranberry colour) and Freshly Toasted (a warm toned Brown).
Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks | £16 | POST
This is the lipsticks that caused the Jeffree Star love. The Androgyny is a beautiful muted Mauve colour. The formula is easily one of the best liquid lipsticks I've tried (and I've tried a fair few). It's super pigmented, completely matte, really long wearing and not drying at all! It's basically been my go to lip colour throughout October.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip | $6 | POST
For days when I want a more toned down lip colour. The shade Calypso has been my first choice. The shade is a perfect Pink nude colour, but it's not too Pink. I really like the formula of the Ultra Satin Lips. They're really comfortable. My only issue is that they're not as long lasting as I would like, but it wears well and easy to reapply.
So that's all the makeup I've been reaching for lately.
Have you tried any of these? What are you thoughts?
Until next time...
