My skin is an ongoing circle. Just when I address and sort one issue, another skin problem appears. So I have a range of masks that all tackle a different issue and they have proven effective in doing so. So today I have a range of face masks, for most skin concerns to share with you...
Exfoilating...
L'oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask | £7.99 | POST
Exfoliating masks are one of my favourite types of mask. They instantly make my skin look brighter, healthier and more glowing. And that's exactly what this budget beauty for L'oreal does. It's an Orange, Red colour that has a lumpy, paste like texture. I like to apply a thick layer then wait 15 minutes, then rinse. My skin looks and feels so much better after.
Mario Badescu Enzyme Mask | £16 | POST
This mask not only exfoliates but it's hydrating too. It contains Papaya enzymes to breakdown dead skin cells and is jam packed with vitamins to hydrate and nourish the skin. It has a smooth, runny consistency that's easy to apply. It doesn't set down like most masks so it's really easy to remove. I like to leave this on for 20 minutes, then remove and the results are brilliant. My skin is left so much softer, brighter and glowing. I can't recommend this enough.
Brightening...
When my skin is looking dull, grey and just lifeless I like to reach for a brightening mask. Brightening masks are also great for dark spots or age spots. This offering from Janjira is a bubbling mask that brightens, illuminates and detoxifies the skin. The bubbling sensation feels so strange on the skin (not in a bad way) it gently tickles and you can feel it bubbling. The mask then transforms to a foam on the face. I was really quite impressed! It takes around 5-10 minutes for the mask to completely bubble up, then it is advised you remove. After removal my skin really does look brighter. It feels so much softer and smooth too. What I really like about this is how it isn't drying at all either!
Nourishing...
Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask | £19.75
This mask has quickly become one of my favourites. It's a great, does it all mask. It's intensely hydrating and contains Manuka honey to help tackle breakouts. This is perfect for my dehydrated skin that is prone to breakouts. I like to apply a thick layer and leave it on 20 minutes. After I've removed it my skin is soft and feels really nourished. It also helps reduce any redness caused by a breakout. It's just a great all round mask.
Origins Drink It up Overnight Mask | £34 (full size)
This is another nourishing mask that is packed full of skin loving ingredients to help nourish, repair and rehydrate the skin. It can be used like a regular mask or overnight to intensify the results. I like to use this overnight, after my serum and moisturiser. And in the morning I'm left with silky soft, plump looking skin.
Deep Cleaning...
These masks are the ones that leave my skin feeling super clean but don't necessarily help with active breakouts.
This is very similar to the Glam Glow Youth Mud mask but it costs half the price. It has a tingling sensation when first applied, which is normal. I can almost feel this drawing out impurities. I leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then remove. My skin feels so much cleaner, looks more radiant and brighter. I definitely recommend checking this mask out!
Origins Charcoal Mask | £24 (full size)
Another mask that leaves my skin feeling super clean is this charcoal mask from Origins. It contains White China Clay to absorb pollution build up and active Charcoal to draw out impurities. This is a great deep cleaning mask. I apply a thick layer; wait for it to dry; then remove to reveal cleaner, fresher looking skin.
Hydrating...
Indeed Labs Hydraluran sheet mask | £19 (for 4) | POST
Having dehydrated skin means my skin loves a good hydrating mask. This sheet mask is one of the best I've come across for adding hydration. The fit of these are rubbish, but I can forgive because the results are so fabulous. The sheets themselves are heavily saturated in Hydraluronic acid to give skin an instant, long lasting shot of hydration. I like to leave this on for as long as possible and then massage in any remaining residue. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft and it looks so plump!
Blemish / Oil Fighting ...
As I've said despite having dehydrated skin, breakouts are still a problem for me. So I like a mask that is going to treat them. And this is my favourite. It contains Salicylic acid which is a great ingredient for breaking down clogged pores. This has the consistency of a regular clay mask and dries down like one too. But it's still pretty easy to remove. This really helps reduce the size of any blemishes and I think it's really helping to reduce the blackheads on my nose. I do find this slightly drying on my skin but if you do have dry or dehydrated skin I would recommend just using this in the areas where you need it, or use a hydrating masking after.
There's some if my favourite masks for almost any skin concern.
Have you tried any of these? What you favourite face masks?
Until next time...
