The L'Oreal Infallible range has a foundation for everybody. I'm sure most of you have heard of the Infallible range, they have a matte foundation, a full coverage foundation and a glowing one. Although two of them aren't available in the Uk which is so frustrating! I managed to get the US Matte Infallible, which is said to have a different formula to the Uk one, but I'll go into more detail later, and the Pro Glow from my favourite Ebay seller here. Both the foundations are genuine and came sealed and unopened. Today I thought I'd share my thoughts on each foundation. So let's get into it...
L'oreal Infallible 24HR Matte | £7.99
Starting with the Uk Matte option. This promises to be a full coverage, lightweight matte foundation, with incredible staying power. I remember when this first came out people were raving about it, with words like 'holy grail' being thrown around, I just had to try it. Although I'm not quite sure what everybody is raving about. I really dislike this foundation. The consistency is light and easy to blend. But it looks so dry and cakey on me. It exaggerates every problem and even highlighted problems I didn't even know I had! Then there's the limited shade range, which UK foundations are well know for. I have the Shade 20 Sand. Which is far too Pink for me. This is long wearing, I'll give it that but I'd rather wear no makeup than this!
L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte | £17.64
Now this is the US version, which is said to be different to the UK one. And the shade range is far better. As you can see the packaging is also slightly different. It claims to be the same thing as the UK version though. The consistency is very similar - light and easy to blend. The finish is demi matte. This looks far better on my skin, no where near as dry and cakey looking! This is very long lasting too. Although I do find after a whole day of wearing this it does leave my skin feeling slightly dry. But I can imagine people with oilier skin loving this. The shade range is far better. I have the shade 106 Sun Beige which is a far better match than the UK one.
Unfortunatly this is out of stock from the Ebay seller I usually use, but I have linked a place that does ship to the UK. But the foundation is slightly more expensive.
L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation | £9.99
I'm really surprised that this one is available in the UK, it's actually a pretty recent launch! It claims to do pretty much the same thing as the other two Matte Infallible's. Which is strange that they'd bring two matte foundations to UK but not the Pro Glow. Anyway, the formula is very different to both the other matte options. It has a mousse like consistency which actually scared me, I had horrid memories of the cakey Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse! But it's safe to say this is very different. I first attempted to use this with my Beauty Blender, but it took some effort to blend it out, it's the one foundation I've found that works better with a brush. With a brush it's easy to blend. This does have full coverage as it claims. I wouldn't say the finish is matte though. It's definitely more satin and as the day progressed it becomes more glowy with my natural oils. The finish wasn't cakey either and surprisingly looked natural on the skin. I have the shade 24 Golden Beige which isn't great but I can make it work. Overall, I'm really surprised I don't hate this. It's not my favourite foundation I own but it's a good drugstore option.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow | £12.99
The Pro Glow option was the one I was desperate to try! It promises to be a long wearing, dewy foundation. They type I love! The packaging is similar to US Pro Matte. The consistency of this is very runny, which makes it super easy is to blend. The coverage is really good too. I tend to find most dewy foundations are sheer and lack the coverage I require but this offers a good solid, medium coverage. It definitely has a dewy finish and gives the skin a really nice glow. I did find that by lunchtime I was super dewy and powder was required but this didn't comprise the wear at all. The Shade 208 Sun Beige is slightly too Pink toned for me but again I can make it work. Overall, this one is my favourite of the bunch. Because I have dehydrated skin so these types of foundations sit and look better on my skin!
Like I said the Pro Glow is my favourite, which is so frustrating it's not available here. I think oily skins would really like the US Infallible. If you're in the UK and want either of them make sure you checkout the links.
Have you tried any of these? What's your favourite L'Oreal foundation?
Until next time...
