Spring Eyes, Lips & Cheeks

Spring is just around the corner and as I'm writing this the sun is shining and the sky is clear! But to be honest I'm not ready to give up my dark berry shades! But I have a few shades that are more spring appropriate that I'm looking forward to using. For me spring is about Mauve-y, Pink tones rather than going straight in with bold corals! Today I've put together a little edit of some of the spring Eyes, Lip and cheek shades. I ran out of time and couldn't do any swatches but if you check out the link 'Post' you will find them.

Who am I trying to kid, I've used this throughout winter since I got it. But the shades are perfect for spring and summer. It's just a great all year round palette. The shades inside are mostly warm toned and inspired by Peach. It even smells like yummy Peaches! The palette houses 18 shadows with a good mix of shimmers and mattes. The majority of the shades are buttery, pigmented and really easy to work with. This palette is perfect for creating a spring look!

Another palette I won't be leaving in winter is this stunning palette from Blank Canvas. This palette contains 11 matte and 1 shimmery shade. Most of the shadows are warm toned. I'm so into matte shadows at the moment. It will also be great for creating an everyday spring eye look. All the shades are so soft and pigmented and perform extremely well for matte shadows! I love all the shades in this palette.

I completely forgot I had this so I'm putting it back into rotation for spring. This is the perfect shade to transition for winter to spring. It's a matte, dusky Pink colour that goes with any makeup look. The formula of this is so finely milled it doesn't look powdery and blends into the skin so it looks natural.

I love the cream blushes in spring and summer so ColourPop is a good middle ground. Their blushes are like a cream powder hybrid - the texture is so difficult to explain. It's like mousse but creamy but so easy to apply and blend. I like to use the Real Techniques Stippling brush to apply and blend it. The shade Quarters is Peach, Coral shade, but nothing too 'in your face'. It's a really nice Spring shade.

MAC Blush | £19.50 | POST

A good Pink blush is a great shade for spring. This MAC blush in the shade Well Dressed is a dusky Pink shade with subtle shimmers in it. The formula is finely milled and doesn't look powdery. It gives a nice, alive look to the cheeks.

Changing up lip colours is the perfect way to add a season appropriate look to any makeup look! One of my favourites I'll be taking into spring is Calypso which is a dusky Mauve Pink colour. It's a great everyday shade.

Another ColourPop spring lip option is Echo Park which is another dusky Mauve colour. But it's less Purple and more of a nude than Calypso. On me it's a really nice nude colour. I can't rate the formula of the Ultra Satin enough! They are like a really nice long lasting lipstick in liquid form. They aren't drying at all and so comfortable on the lips. And they are easy to touch up throughout the day.

I've just realised that the majority of lip options are liquid lipsticks - sorry! But another great spring lip option comes in the form of Palasder from Ofra. The shade is a gorgeous Rose nude colour. The formula is really nice too. I spoke about this yesterday here. So I won't go into much details but it's long lasting, non drying and looks great on the lips to!

For spring days when I want a slightly bolder lip option Pumpkin Pie is perfect. It's an Orange toned Red. Probably more summer appropriate but makeup has no rules, right? The formula of Jeffree Star lipsticks is one of the best I've tried. These are so long lasting and not drying at all. It's easy to apply and the colour payoff is second to none. Make of him what you will but his liquid lipsticks are spot on!

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick | £15.50 | POST

My final lip option is Naked from Urban Decays Vice Lipstick line. It has a cream formula so it has a slight sheen to it. Because it's a cream finish it's so comfortable and easy to throw on and go. The shade is a really nice, Pinky nude that would look great on bright spring days.

After writing this I'm actually now excited for spring summer shades!

Have you tried any of these? What shades will you be wearing this spring?

Until next time...
