Highlighters are becoming a bit of thing for me. I just love them. And as much as I love a super blinding glow that can been seen from out of space, occasionally I do like something a bit more subtle. So I've put together a little edit of my favourite highlighters that are perfect for everyday wear. With out further ado...
Pixi Glow-y Powder Highlight | £14 | REVIEW
Pixi have nailed the highlighter formula with the gorgeous shade Santorini Sunset. It's a stunning Champagne colour that's not too Pink nor to Gold. The formula is so soft and the highlighter itself translates beautifully on to the skin. This gives such a nice, subtle seen without being over the top or too under stated. There's no glitter. It's just perfect. It wears all day on me too. I also think this is very reasonably priced considering how good this is!
Milani Strobe Light Instant Glow Powder* | £12.99
Milani are on fire with their new launches and when I see this highlighter I didn't take much persuading. I have two shades After Glow and Sun Glow. After Glow is a really nice Champagne colour without any glitter or chunkiness, it gives such a lovely glow to the cheek bones. Sun Glow is more Golden in tone but not too Gold, this one is better suited to my skin tone and looks so natural on. Again this doesn't have any glitter or chunkiness. Neither are too powdery and really soft to the touch. I really can''t recommend this enough. There is also quite a few shades so there's something for every skin tone.
Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter | £27.50 | REVIEW
Another one of my favourites for everyday wear is this one from Makeup Forever in the shade Gold. As you've probably realised from the name it has a Gold tone. I know some people find Gold highlighter over the top but on me this looks really nice. Probably not as natural as some of the ones mentioned here but I still really like it! The formula is so unique. It's a gel powder hybrid. It literally melts into the skin, leaving a very natural, sheeny glow. There's also a more Pink toned one for paler people.
E.L.F Highlighter | £5
Now this is the most natural of the bunch, it's so subtle, you can only really see it when the light catches it and then it's still nothing too intense. The shade Blush Gems has a really subtle Golden Pink sheen. It's a really nice shade. To be honest this isn't my favourite highlighter because it's so subtle but I wanted to include it because I think it would be perfect for those who like this kind of highlighter. E.L.F is also coming to Superdrug in the very near future!
Trish McEvoy Light and Lift Duo* | £57
Trish McEvoy is new brand to me but one that has been around for a long time. I was kindly sent this Light and Lift Duo and my eyes lit up when I saw this! It's stunning. It contains a bronzer and a highlighter. I'm not going to go into too much detail about the bronzer in this post, but I love it!! I love the highlighter equally as much maybe even a bit more! It's a super butterery, finely milled powder. The shade has a Champagne tone. It looks a lot more shimmery in the pan than it translates on the face. It actually reminds me a lot of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. It's difficult to describe because this doesn't look shimmery on the face but it's not matte. It just illuminates everything in a really nice natural way! It has quickly become one of my favourites!
So they're my favourite every day highlighters.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
