Budget Eye Makeup Worth Checking Out

Eye makeup is such a tricky category especially when it comes to eyeshadows. I always find cheaper formulas not as good but not wanting to invest in pricy palettes. But being a beauty and a drugstore girl at heart I've tried at lot of affordable makeup, So today I've whittled down some eye makeup that is worth checking out...

Eyeshadow...

In my experience affordable eyeshadow palettes just don't compare to what the high-end brands offer. But over recent years the drugstore and more affordable brands have really upped their game. My favourites are:

This is one of my favourite palettes, it just so happens to be affordable! The shades in this palette are so soft and pigmented. I'd happily pay £20+ for this and wouldn't bat an eye lid. It has a good mix of neutral shades and warm tones. The warm tones are my favourite. All of them have amazing staying power and they're so easy to work with. This is also a really good dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renascence palette. A dupe that was exactly un intentional from Makeup Revolution as theirs came out first (see this post for more details).

ELF have formulated a winning palette with this! It houses all matte, warm shades. The pigmentation is so good too and the colours translate on to the lid beautifully! the shades are creamy and so easy to blend and stay vibrant looking all day. It's become one of my favourite everyday palettes, definitely one to check out!

This is slightly more expensive than the others by still affordable in comparison to high-end palettes. Zoeva's palettes are incredible. They're pigmented, so soft, easy to work with and so long lasting! They have quite an eyeshadow range and I have a few palettes and the consistency is consistent throughout the palettes. But my favourite is the Cocoa Blend Palette. It's inspired and has a good mix of matte, wearable bronzes and high pigment shimmers.

Mascara...

I think I have tried maybe two high-end mascaras - the drugstore make amazing Mascaras in my opinion and I've never felt the need to try high-end ones! I have a long list of favourites, but here are my ultimate 3:

Regular readers will know how much I love this so just skip past this. This mascara ticks all the boxes. It has a plastic, comb like wand that catches every lash. It adds great length and volume in a formula that wears perfectly all day. It doesn't flake or smudge and the curls last all day to!

Maybelline Big Shot Colossal Volume* | £7.99

I really didn't think I would like this mascara but I love it! It has a stiff bristle brush, I don't tend to like these but this one works really well. It adds length and a huge amount of volume without being clumsy! Like Lash Sensational it lasts all day on me.

L'oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara | £10.99

There's not many L'oreal mascaras I don't like but this one is my current favouite. It has a plastic comb wand that catches every lash. This mascara gives amazing length and volume. It also defines the lashes really well giving them a false lash effect. I'm not going to lie this doesn't quite look like false lashes but it's the closest I've ever got!

Eyeliner...

I've never thought eyeliner was something you need to go high end for, until I tried high end ones and I do prefer high-end ones but I have some real gems that work well and that are affordable...

I'm actually on my 3rd one of these so that shows how much I love it! This is a liquid eyeliner with a pen style tip. The tip itself is so fine and tapes into a point. It's so easy to create a wing with this. The pen style also makes it super easy to control. The liner itself is so Black! I tend to find most affordable liquid liners dry down to dark Grey colour. It stays Black all day too. And it doesn't crumble or smudge off. I don't think this dries out quickly either. It lasts a good 3-4 months!

The best pencil liners I've found are these ColourPop ones. They're super creamy and glide onto the water line with ease. I don't find these bleed or smudge. They aren't the most long lasting though, but they are the most long lasting at this price I've tried. I have Two shades Mr Bing which is a warm toned, mid Brown and Swerve which is a straight up Black.

There are my favourite Budget Eye Makeup picks that I think are worth checking out.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
