Good makeup application starts with good skincare. A skincare routine for your skin type will prep and counteract any issues you have with your skin before hand. I have dehydrated skin so many of my picks are based around that but there is a few picks that I think would be suitable for most skin types.
Fresh Soy Cleanser* | £32 | REVIEW
First of all a cleanser is needed. The Fresh Soy one is perfect for morning time use before makeup application. It has a light, gel like consistency that lifts away impurities or any residue from evening creams with ease. This isn't dry or stripping but leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. It leaves it super smooth to.
Skyn Island Nordic Skin Peel* | £38 | REVIEW
These are pre soaked AHA pads that gently exfoliate the skin. I love using these before makeup application because they leave my skin so smooth, which of course makes foundation application easier. They also leave my skin looking brighter and more radiant. These are quite strong so I wouldn't use them every day, but the results are long lasting.
Pixi Peel and Polish* | £26
Pixi are well known for their amazing chemical exfoliators so they've added this peel and polish to the lineup. This is a scrub and mask in One. It has a scrub like texture with grainy particles to manually exfoliate the skin, alongside lactic acid and Papaya extract to chemically exfoliate the skin. After using this my skin feels so smooth and looks so much brighter! Because it's a scrub it's also really nice to use in the morning.
Nannic Venatrix Serum* | £50
For me hydration is so important for flawless makeup application so I like to go in with serum. This one from Nannic is not only super hydrating but it also helps pigmentation problems and dark circles. I've been using this for a good few weeks. And while I haven't noticed a huge difference in my pigmentation I feel like my dark circles look slightly better and my skin looks less see through and more radiant. This is also fast absorbing so it's perfect for under makeup.
La Roche Posay Ultra Tolerine Fluid | £17.50
This is my holy grail moisturiser. It just hydrates my dehydrated skin so well! It has a light texture that absorbed almost instantly and doesn't leave an oily residue. It just leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and plumped!
