July was quite an exciting month in the drugstore. There were new brand launches, re launches and just some products that had been on my radar for a while. So let's get into it.
Bio Essence 24k Gold Essence Water* | £16.99
Bio Essence is a new brand that has recently launched at Superdrug. Their 24k Bio Gold range is infused with Bio Gold to leave skin glowing. This essence water has tiny Gold flecks in it that disappear into the skin. So I'm guessing it's not real Gold but I've been enjoying it none the less. It claims to hydrate, reduce pores and boost the skin glow. The water itself is slightly thicker than water it has a slight gel like consistency to it. I apply this after cleanser and before any other skincare products and immediatly asbores into my skin. Leaving no residue or sticky-ness. I've been using this for over a month and I do think this has helped my skin glow! I also find it super hydrating for a water. I'm not sure if this has helped my pores but they're not really an issue.
Bio Essence Night Cleanser* | £12.99
Alongside the Bio Essence water I've been testing the cleanser. Which is Gold! This has a gel like consistency that lathers up really well and has a strong soapy scent to it. It does do a really good job at cleansing the skin. After using this my skin felt squeeky clean! My only issue is this is slightly too drying for my dehydrated skin. But this didn't cause me to break out or anything nasty! I feel like oily skin types would really like this.
Formula 10.0.6 Best Face Forward Cleanser* | £8.99
My best friend swears by this stuff and says it really helped clear her acne prone skin so I was super excited to try it. I don't have oily skin but it is prone to breakouts and blackheads are an issue. This a super light weight gel cleanser that smells amazing! It feels super refreshing on the skin and leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. I love this as a morning cleanser because it perks my skin and makes me feel more awake. Overall, this is a nice affordable cleanser that is definitely worth checking out.
Formula 10.0.6 Three Time Sublime* | £8.99
This is a 3 in1 face wash, mask and scrub! It has gentle scrubby beads in it to lift away dead skin cells and impurities that can block pores and lead to break outs. I love this as a scrub 2-3 times a week. It leaves my skin so smooth! I don't find this too drying either. Another winner!
Formula 10.0.6 Picture Perfect Day Moisturiser* | £8.99
From the same brand I've been loving this moisturiser. It's aimed at creating a balance in the skin and leave it with a healthy glow. And this really does. It's really light weight but still hydrating enough for my dehydrated skin. It also has UVA/ UVB protection so it's a great multi tasker. My skin feels soft and smooth all day after using this. I found it sits perfectly under makeup too. If you're after a no fuss, affordable moisturiser that works this is a great option.
B. Cassie Lomas Sheer Illuminator | £9.99
B. have re-launched their makeup line, the packaging has a face lift and they've added a whole bunch of products to their line up. They even have a Cassie Lomas collection. I'm not going to lie I have no idea who she is but the packaging drew me and I got my hands on this Sheer Illuminator. This is a liquid illuminator that adds a hint of glow to the complexion. This is definitely sheer as the name suggests. It doesn't contain any glitter or chunkiness. It looks very natural and subtle over makeup. To be honest, it was a bit more natural than I like from a highlighter. But it blends well and is long lasting. I also tried this as a primer but I tend to like my primers more hydrating than this had to offer.
B. Cassie Lomas Bronzer - Universal | £9.99
Another product from B. I have is this bronzer. It's a whipped bronzer that has a moussey consistency. I think this would be a good duper of the famous Chanel bronzer. I really like this shade, it's not to cool or too warm and works well with my skin tone. I prefer this as a bronzer on my cheeks rather than a contour shade. It blends super easy and you only need a tiny amount to achieve a natural sun kissed glow. I like to apply this with my Real Techniques stippling brush. It lasts all day too! This is definitely one to check out.
Tanya Burr Highlighter | £7.49
I've never been too fussed by Tanya Burrs makeup line but she recently released a bunch of stuff including this highlighter. I have the shade Champagne Sorbet. The packaging is so nice! And the highlighter itself is pretty good too. It's a classic Champagne colour that would suit most skin tones. This isn't the softest highlighter I've ever come across but it's well pigmented and blends into the skin well. It does give a pretty intense sheen but nothing too over the top, it wears well to.
Tanya Burr Face Illuminator | £7.49
I also picked up this liquid illuminator with a golden tone to it. This can be mixed with foundation or worn alone. This has a very natural finish to gives skin a hint of radiance. I really like this as primer. It gives my skin a smooth finish and makeup applies well over the top.
Tanya Burr Lip Balm | £4.99
Tanya Burrs range was on Three for Two so to complete the deal I picked up one of her lip balms in the shade Milkshake. The packaging is super cute. This is a nice lip balm. It smells nice and has a glossy finish. It's also hydrating. There's nothing not to like really.
Revlon Photo Ready Instafix Stick Gold Light* | £9.99
Well this is pretty self explanatory! I really like this highlighter. It's a nice Golden Champagne shade and the formula is really creamy. It leaves a nice dewy sheen on the skin. I like to apply it straight to my face and use a stippling brush to blend it in. It doesn't contain any glitter and doesn't exenturate any problem areas. A definite winner!
Revlon Insta Blush* | £9.99
Next I have this Blush in the shade Berry Kiss. Which is a Berry shade. The formula of this blush is actually quite stiff in comparison to the highlighter. And quite difficult to build pigmenting without moving my foundation. I found the best way to apply is onto a brush first and build the pigmentation up. It has a powder finish and it lasts all day on me.
Revlon HD Gel Lip Colour* | £7.99
Lastly I have a couple of the new Revlon Lipsticks. Which is a super light weight gel consistency. They have a glossy finish and sheer but build-able finish. These actually remind me a lot of Lip Butter which I think have been discontinued, I used to love those so I'm happy to see them replaced with something equally as good! I have Two shades, Vineyard (a sheer Berry shade) and Dessert (a sheer Pink nude colour). I really like both shades and have been wearing them both non stop. They're the perfect throw and go shades. The formula isn't the most long wearing but that's to be expected from this type of formula. But they're super easy to touch up.
Well done if you made it to the end! That's everything I discovered from the drugstore throughout July.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
