For once I won't sound cliche because August hasn't flown by for me. In fact I think it's dragged a bit! And we are still not out of it! Anyway I have some beauty favourites to share with you...
Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette | £41 | REVIEW
I brought myself this as a birthday present and I was a little scared of it, given all the hate this received. But I actually really like it! So much so I've been using it almost everyday since I got it! This is the most pigmented palette I've ever come across! You really need to only lightly dap your brush in it once and they'll be enough pigmented. The shadows themselves are slightly more difficult to blend than say Urban Decay shadows but I think this is because the shadows are so pigmented. For more details see my full review here. But I've been loving this all month.
OUAI Memory Mist* |
It's no secret I'm huge fan of OUIA in general but this Memory Mist is something else (in a good way). I'm amazed by how amazing this. It's a heat defence and style extending in a hand spray. This really does everything it claims and extends my style while giving my hair an incredible shine. This launches on Cult Beauty on the 2nd of September and I really can't recommend this enough.
Benefit FoolProof Brow Powder* | £26 | REVIEW
I discovered this towards the end of August and I haven't looked back. This powder is designed to make filling the brows super easy! It has two shades in it, a slightly darker shade for the arch and tail of the brow, and a lighter one for the front. The two shades work seamlessly together creating the perfectly defined brow. The powders are also in the shape of an eyebrow so you know exactly where to apply them.
Pixi Setting Powder* | £18
I've been obsessed with this powder since I got it! It's incredible. The packaging on the other hand though, isn't so great. It comes in a small pot with a sponge applicator to apply it. This makes it really difficult to blend it in and set smaller areas of the face, like around the nose and under the eyes. So I've just untwisted the top and using the powder with a brush and it's amazing. It really sets my makeup without looking cakey or heavy. I find this really blurring on my pores and fine lines.
Buxom Full Lip Polishes* | £15 (currently on offer for £13 here)
This lip polish in the shade White Russian is a big hit with beauty gurus across the pond so I was excited to finally try it. And the hype is real! This lip gloss not only leaves lips with a lovely glossy finish, it's also plumping and feels amazing on the lips. It gives lips a slight tingling feeling but not in a stingy, uncomfortable way. It just feels really fresh on the lips. The shade itself is a really nice pale Pink nude colour.
Wonjin Effect Vita Moist Apoule* | $43 | REVIEW
Lastly I have one skincare favourite. In the form of this Apoule. This is a potent, water serum that really packs a punch in terms of hydration. I've been using AM/PM after cleansing and toning, it instantly hydrates my skin and leaves it so smooth. It plums out my dehydration lines too!
So there are my stand out products for August.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
