Supplements Tried & Tested

I think it's common sense that beauty products can only do so much externally and if you really want to combat a skin or hair concern the best way to do it is from the inside. And the beauty industry has cottoned on and supplements are now a big thing. When I first heard of some supplements I thought well aren't they same as vitamins? But they're not. Beauty supplements are tailored to meet your skin / hair needs. I've been testing a range of beauty supplements and I'm ready to report back.

OUAI Dry Hair Supplements* | £26 (30 tablets)

OUAI have formulated a line of supplements to meet everyones haircare needs, from dry, thin and oily. I have dry hair so I have the dry option. These are tablet form and contain a potent cocktail of hydrating ingredients. Including Fatty acids, Omega 3, Vitamin E and Iron. I have taken one a day for 30 days. It is said that results will be seen after around 90 days. But I have actually seen results after about 14 days. The roots of my hair have become more shiny, and soft. Like, silky soft. I was amazed! I'm hoping over time the results will eventually travel down all my hair and the ends will be soft too. Because of the vitamins in these it will also help your skin! Overall, I'm really impressed by these!

ZENII Pro Collagen Supplements* | £40 (120 tablets)

Zenii is the brain child of DR Joanne Ward, an expert in nutritional science. ZENII is a results driven brand so I was excited to try these skin supplements. I have the Pro Collagen ones, which are aimed at anti ageing and promoting strong skin. As we age, Collagen is naturally lost in the skin which causes the skin to get wrinkles. The tablets also contain Vitamin C which is another ingredient well known for anti ageing properties. Like the OUAI ones, I've been taking one a day. I think it's difficult to judge how well these work in terms of anti ageing but I think they did help my skin. It looked clearer and just better. I can't quite put my finger on it but overall, I feel like these are helping.

GP Nutrition

Lastly I have been testing these little mini packs from GP Nutrition. Each kit comes with a few drinks, and tablets to take over the course of 3 days. I have:

Mini-Break Me | £9.99

This kit is designed to be taken over a mini break weekend. With a range of Vitamins and minerals to give you a boost and reboot the body. So your mini break works from the inside out! Some of the tablets are supposed to be taken with food and at certain times of the day, so make sure you read the label. I took these over 3 days, I unfortunatly haven't been on a mini break though. And these seemed to help me feel more refreshed  and awake, like I'd had 20 hours sleep! I cant recommend this enough, even if your not going away!

Fly Me | £9.99

Like the mini break this is designed to be taken over 3 days. But this is aimed at combatting the effects of flight. The vitamins in this option are designed to keep your skin plump and hydrated. It even includes an inflight shake to keep blood sugar levels at a good level. I didn't take this on a flight because I haven't been anywhere. And I'm not going to lie the shake wasn't the nicest thing I've tried. But it did make me feel full up. The effects of this were similar to the Mini-break kit, I felt refreshed and more energised.

Overall, I really like these little kits and they are good way giving yourself a quick boost of energy. Plus I think they're pretty good value for money.

DISCLAIMER: Please note that all these supplements I have talked about are not meal replacements and should be taken as part of healthy, balanced diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication consult your doctor before taking them. If you are allergic to anything also check the ingredients.

I actually went into testing these a little apprehensive. But I'm really surprised at how effective these are!

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts on supplements?

Until next time...
