Finding high coverage foundations and formulas can be quite the task! I find this even more so as I have dehydrated skin. Vichy, the French pharmacy skincare brand are well known for their amazing skincare and makeup. I've been testing some products from their Dermablend range which offers high coverage formulas and a natural finish.
Vichy DemaBlend Corrective Fluid Foundation* | £15
This claims to cover all skin concerns which is a pretty bold claim, while offering 24 hour hydration and 16 hours wear. First of all I love the simple packaging, you just have to squeeze the foundation out, so it's easy to control how much you want. The consistency is surprisingly runny and so easy to blend. Most foundations I've tried with similar claims tend to be a lot thicker. I like to blend this with a Beauty Blender but it works well with a brush to. It melts into the skin and really does look natural. I have dehydrated skin and this didn't cling to any problem areas or feel dry or heavy on my skin. I wouldn't say this was hydrating though, but it's by no means drying. The coverage is incredible! It covered all my redness and blemishes in one go, without having to build or add concealer. I'm not sure about the 16hr wear claim, I don't think I've ever worn a foundation that long but it stays put all day, until I want to remove it. As for the shades there are 11 available (I think) which isn't that bad for a drugstore brand. I have the shade Nude which is a tad too light, but I can make it work. Overall, I'm really impressed with this! If you are after a full coverage, natural foundation this is definitely one to check out.
Vichy Dermablend Concealer* | £11.25
Vichy have reformulated the original concealer from the line and replaced it with this SOS option. It promises to be more creamy, high coverage and long wearing. It is actually really creamy and does offer amazing coverage! It works well on dark circles and blemishes. This did crease slightly though under my eyes, but I'm yet to find a concealer that doesn't. It doesn't cake up or fade at all though. I have the shade Nude which matches the foundation so this gives an extremely natural finish but I tend to like concealers under my eyes to be a shade lighter for brightening purposes. That being said I do really like this!
Vichy Dermablend Compact Foundation* | £15
I've never actually used a powder as an actual foundation, I tend to use them to set my foundation. This one claims to matte be a foundation, blurs pores and is long wearing. Like I said I've used this to set my foundation and it does a really good job! It does blur everything a little bit and gives my skin an overall smoother appearance. This does also add a little bit more coverage. It doesn't look cakey or powdery on the skin and definitely has a matte finish and really mattes my foundation down but it's not drying on my skin.
Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder | £15 (currently on offer for £13.50 here)
The range also includes this translucent setting powder which can be used to reinforce the hold of your foundation. It claims to be water resistant too. I've not actually tested that claim though! But it is very long lasting. The powder is loose and the packaging accommodates this really well. I didn't find this left a White cast on me as some translucent powders can do. This does remove shine but it doesn't overly adjust the finish of my foundation which I love! It stops my concealer from creasing throughout the day too. Another winner from the range.
From my experience this range definitely offers coverage without the cake! I imagine this range would be brilliant for oily or acne prone skins too.
Have you tried any of the Dermablend range? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
