I'm sure most of you already know I went to New York last week. It was an amazing trip, I think I might do a separate post about what I got up to. But obviously there was a lot of shopping involved! I was there over Black Friday which was exciting but to be honest I found it all a bit overwhelming. The shops were packed full of people and I didn't find many beauty bargains. That being said I still spent a lot of money. Mainly in Sephora, which is a beauty lovers heaven! I did a bit of drugstore shopping too but I will do a separate post next week on what I brought there otherwise this post will be super long.
I've linked UK sites where I can.
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette | £56
This was top of my list after falling in love with the Warm Toned Obsessions palette. The first Sephora I went to the Huda stand literally looked like it had been ransacked and they didn't have anything, aside from a few heavily used testers. But luckily I found it in another one! The Desert Dust houses 18 beautiful shades, all mainly warm, in a range of finishes. This swatched beautifully in store, maybe even better than that Warm Toned Obsessions palette! I'll keep you updated with how this performs on the lids though.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist | $48
I swear this is on everyones 'must buy from Sephora' list! It's a face mist that is super charged with hydrating ingredients to give the skin a dewy glow. I've used this a few times over makeup and this is so hydrating! The packaging is stunning and the mist action is perfect.
Anastisia Beverly Hills Lipstick | £18
This was another stand that was half empty and always busy! The lipsticks were the first thing that caught my eye and after a few swatches (it was amazing being able to see these products in person) I went for the shade Staunch, Which is a really nice Brown nude colour.
Too Faced Just Peachy Matte Palette | $48
I love Too Faced shadows and matte shadows so I really wanted this, it's also not available in the UK yet so I snapped it up. The shades all look stunning and the packing is so nice. If these are anything like Too Faced shadows I'm sure I will love this.
Becca Api Glow Palette | £45
This was on offer for $35 so it was a no brainer! Especially as Becca's blushes and highlighters are some of the best I've tried. The palette contains a mix of highlighters, blushes and bronzer to achieve the ultimate winter glow. I've used a few shades and I love it already. The bronzer and highlighter in the shades Bronzed Bondai and Rose Quartz are beautiful.
Tarte Amizon Clay Blush | $29
Tarte blushes have gained a bit of a cult status and while some shades are available in the UK on QVC I've never found exposed. So I got it! It's a muted Mauvey toned blush. That looks like it would look very natural on the skin. I'm really into these kind of blushes so I can't wait to try it.
Clinique Blush | $23
This was totally enabled by Jasmine from Jasmine Talks Beauty. I know she loves the shade Fig in particular but it's not available in the UK so I knew I wanted to get this. The shade is gorgeous - it's a deep, warm Orange colour. I'm already a huge fan of the Clinique blush formula so I'm sure this will be no exception.
Tarte Pro To Glow to Go Mini | $23
I toyed with getting the larger version of this palette but I know they'd be so many shades I just wouldn't use so when I say this in the mini section I picked it up. It contains a contour shade and two highlighters. I've not used the highlighters yet but the contour shade is perfect for me. It's not too cool nor too warm. The formula is really nice, it's pigmented but not too pigmented it's difficult to work with. It stays looking perfect all day to.
Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Foundation | $40
Milk is another brand that's difficult to get in the UK and I brought this on a bit of a whim. But I'm pleasantly surprised by this. It claims to be a matte, pore blurring full coverage foundation. Which this is but it isn't drying on my dehydrated skin. The formula is really light and so easy to blend! So far I really like this.
Sephora Collection Matte Perfect Powder Foundation | $20
I picked this after reading some good reviews on it. To swatch this does feel like a really nice creamy, finely milled powder. Surprisingly this also has pretty decent coverage for a powder. I've used this once and I wasn't wowed by it. But I need to test it some more.
Sephora Collection Liquid Lipstick | $14
Everyone told me I need to check out their liquid lipsticks so I picked up the shade Vintage Rosewood. The shade is a nice warmed toned Terracotta, it reminds me of Kat Von D's Lilotta 11 which is one of my favourite shades. The formula of this is what everyone told me it would be - amazing! These don't look dry or cakey on the lips but they are really matte! This also stays put all day!
Boscia You're Pore-fect Set | $41
Boscia is another brand I was recommended to check out. I didn't really research any of their products before hand but this set caught my eye. It includes:
Boscia Detoxifying cleasner
White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup setting spray
Luminzing Black Mask
Revalitising Black Moisturiser
I've only tried the moisturiser and my first impressions are really good. It felt really refreshing and awakening on the skin but still hydrating. I'm excited to try the other products.
Sephora Contour and Blush Palette | $28
This says it's a blush and contour palette but I think it's actually more of a highlighter and blush palette, none of the shades really seem subtle enough for contouring. The shades in this are super pretty though. From swatching the powders they seem really pigmented and so soft.
Laneige Water Sleep Mask | $25
I've heard so many things about this overnight mask so it was one of the first things I looked for. This is an intense, overnight hydration mask with a gel like consistency. I've used this once and my skin did feel super hydrated in the morning. I can't wait to see the long term results.
Sephora Mask | $6
Another product everyone and their mum raves about! I went for the Pearl Mask which claims to brighten and smooth the skin. Fingers crossed this lives up to the hype!
Tarte Mini Set
Lastly I have this Mini Tarte set which I got free for signing up to their rewards card. It contains a mini liquid lipstick and a mini blush. The blush is actually a pretty decent size too.
So that's everything I got from Sephora. Keep your eyes peeled for my New York Drugstore Haul next week. Do let me know if you'd like to see full reviews on any of these?
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
