My Skincare Routine When I Have Breakouts

I find I talk a lot about products individually but I actually think sometimes it's a combination of products that really make a difference to my skin rather than standout products. And I've found this is the case particularly when my skin is breaking out, angry and sensitive.

I have dehydrated skin too so finding products that will sort spots out without leaving my skin feeling super dry can be a real struggle. I have found a combination of products that really speed up the healing time and gets my skin back to normal.

Fresh Soy Cleanser | £30 (Full size) | REVIEW

When my skin is breaking out I always go back to this cleanser! It's just a non fuss light cleanser that gets the job done, without irrating my skin further.

Sukin Super Green Recovery Serum | £15.99 | REVIEW

For serum I like to reach for this. It's really light but hydrating. It also contains lactic acid which is great for breakouts and improving the overall condition of the skin. I think the concentration is quite low because this doesnt sting or irritate my skin but over time I have found this makes my skin look brighter.

Clarins Oil Blue Orchard Oil | £33 | REVIEW

I like to use this in evening. It's a really nice hydrating oil that really makes a huge difference to my skin. When used with all these products I find it's super soothing if my skin is angry. It leaves my skin really hydrated without irritating or causing more breakouts. It has to be one of my favourite skincare products of this year!

La Roche Posay Toleraine Fluid | £17.50 | REVIEW

I've spoken about this so many times but it's just the best hydrating moisturiser I've come across. When my skin is breaking out I like something really fuss free to prevent it from irritating or making the breakouts worse. This is so hydrating but not heavy at all! It works well in the evening and under makeup too.

The Ordinary Salicylic Acid | £4.20 | REVIEW

Salicylic acid is a great ingredient for drying out blemishes and this option is so affordable. I like to apply a small amount, only on the blemishes before going to bed. In the morning the breakouts look a lot smaller and less angry! This can be drying though so I only use it sparingly.

I find if I use all these products together my skin returns back to normal and blemish free really quickly. I find if I add in loads of fancy products it just makes it worse. So I'm a firm believer in a stripped back routine.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
