I can't believe this is the last High-end discoveries of the year! Where has the year gone? November was a bit of a strange month for discovering new products, I brought loads and had loads to test but I've been so busy it's been hard to actually test. I have managed to test some products enough to review them. So let's get into it.
Huda Beauty Desert Dusk | £56
Now this is One pricy palette. I was never too fussed in trying it for £56 but after falling in love with the Warm Toned Obsession palette I just had to have this. The palette is inspired by the Arabian desert, with a good mix of mattes and shimmers. The shades are:
Desert Sand - Is a pale, warm Orange. This is so pigmented. I like to use it to set the lid before applying other shadows.
Musk - Is a mid-toned Taupe, matte Brown colour. It's really soft although this doesn't feel creamy to swatch it performs well on the lids. It makes a good transition colour.
Eden - Eden is warm, matte Orange shade. I love this as a crease shade, it's really pigmented and blends easily on the lids.
Amber - is one of my favourite shades in the palette. It's a really warm, Red Brown colour. If you look closely in the pan this does have a super fine, micro shimmer in but I didn't find this was noticeable on the lid. To swatch this does feel a bit gritty but it's really pigmented, easy to blend and last well on the lids.
Blood Moon - is a warm, Red Copper shade with a shimmer finish. It is so creamy and pigmented. It makes an ideal lid shade.
OUD - is a warm, Plum Brown shade with a matte finish. Like Amber this does have a really fine micro shimmer in it but you can't see this on the lids. I like to use it to line my upper lash line. It has excellent colour payoff and no fall out.
Celestial - this is a duo Chrome Gold colour with a Pink flip to it. I haven't actually used this on my eyes because this shade isn't my cup of tea but it swatches well.
Nefertiti - Is a really pretty warm Gold colour that really glistens in the light. It is really pigmented and works all over the lid.
Twilight - this is another duo chrome shade that is a shimmery Lavender colour with a Violet flip to it. This is so soft in the pan, to swatch it felt like I'd made a dent in it! It is so pigmented though. This shade isn't right up my street but if you like these kind of shades, you will love this.
Amethyst - Is a Magenta, matte Purple. I have only swatched this shade because it's not something I would wear. But it's slightly sheerer than the other mattes.
Royal - This is a medium Plum Brown shade with a shimmer finish. This actually looks really pretty all over the lids and it compliments my Brown eyes well. It is pigmented and applies smoothly. You could use a damp brush for a more intense finish.
Retrograde - Is a Copper colour with a Blue sparkle to it. This shade isn't great, it lacks a pigment.
Cashmere - this is a really pretty Taupe Brown colour, with a shimmer finish. It's really soft and so pigmented. It makes a lovely lid colour.
Angelic - is a Pink colour with a Gold shimmer to it. In some lights this looks like a lovely Peach colour. It's really pigmented and easy to apply. Another brilliant lid shade.
Cosmo - in the pan this looks beautiful! It's a lovely shimmery Copper colour. I believe this is a pressed glitter and it feels like one. I found it really difficult to get this to stick to the lids. I think I need a glitter glue. To be honest I don't have time for that.
Turkish Delight - This is another one of my favourite shades. It's a really pretty Cranberry Red with a shimmer finish. It has brilliant colour payoff and lasts well on the lids.
Saffron - I love this shade! It's a stunning muted warm toned Red, with a matte finish. It applies beautifully and blends out with ease. It works well in the crease and outer v.
Blazing - Again another shade I love. This is a warm toned, matte Orange. I like to use this in the crease. It's really pigmented and performs amazingly on the lids.
Overall, despite a couple of shades that I won't use I love this palette! The mattes are incredible! The shades work well together and are so easy to blend. This is well worth its hefty price tag.
Becca Apres Glow Face Palette | £45
If Becca makes a face palette I have to buy it! The past two I have I've absolutely loved and got of lot of use out of. At first I wasn't too fussed by this palette until I saw it in person in Sephora and I'm so glad I brought it. It contains 3 highlighters, 2 blushes and a bronzer. The shades are:
Rose Quartz - this is a really lovely Pink toned highlighter. It has a really soft consistency and applies really well. It doesn't give an intense sheen, it's more of an everyday shade.
Icicle - is a really icy White highlighter, with a lovely sheen to it. This is too pale on my skin tone but For pale complexions this would be great.
Winter Berry - This is a Pink Coral blush that looks stunning. I don't tend to gravitate towards these kind of shades but it really gives my face a healthly flushed look. It isn't overly pigmented but I actually prefer this with blushers, no risk of going over board.
Blushed Copper - I think this blush is part of their Permanent line and I've wanted it for ages! It's a gorgeous dark Copper colour with a shimmer running through it. The shimmer isn't anything over the top, it just makes the cheeks look alive! It's super easy to blend and really long lasting.
Opal - I have the full sized version of this highlighter and I love it! It's a beautiful Champagne colour. I think the one in this palette is slightly different, it doesn't feel as creamy. That being said this still is really soft and pigmented.
Bronzed Bondi - I love this bronzer, it's a really nice warm toned Brown that gives a lovely sun kissed glow to the cheeks. It applies smoothly and lasts a really long time to.
Overall, I'm really happy with this palette. I like having a bronzer, blush and highlighter that I love all in one palette. Plus Becca's powder formula is second to none.
American English Youth Conditioner* | £25
I do have a brand focus post coming soon on American English but I wanted to give this conditioner a mention here because I've been really wowed by it. It's aimed to hydrate and restore the hair while preventing breakage. It's packed full of vitamins and all hair loving ingredients, while being free from Parabens, Sulphates and all things nasty. It has a really rich, thick consistency that instantly feels nourishing on the hair. I like to leave this on for a few minutes so it can deeply nourish the hair. It leaves my hair soft and feeling healthy without weighing it down. And the shine it gives it is amazing.
Milk Makeup Blur Matte Foundation | $40
I've also discovered this foundation which I cannot get enough of! It's such a shame Milk Makeup isn't available in the UK. This foundation promises to be a blurring matte foundation. But this doesn't have a cakey matte finish, it's very natural. This is definitely blurring too! It makes skin look perfected. It does have a medium to full coverage which I really like. The consistency of this is surprisingly waterery and easy to blend.
DHC Beauty Lift Eye Essence* | £24
DHC recently launched some new products and this eye cream is one of them. Well I say cream, it's actually more like a light weight, watery gel. It has a metal ball tip applicator which feels super refreshing on the under eyes. The product itself is really light and fast absorbing, leaving my under eyes soft and smooth. It works really well under makeup to.
NUXE 48h Moisture Cream* | £26
This has quickly become a winter essential of mine. The moisturiser contains plant extracts and Almonds to deeply hydrate the skin. The formula of this cream is really nice. It's light, fast absorbing but it really packs a punch in terms of hydration. I like to use this in the morning and it keeps my skin hydrated all day and works really well under makeup. It also protects the skin from pollution so skin keeps it glowing and has anti-ageing properties.
DHC Astaxanthin Collagen All in One Cream* | £40
I'm a huge fan of DCH Skincare so I was super excited to try this moisturiser. But this isn't any moisturiser, it's an all in one cream that combines powerful ingredients to tone, hydrate, brighten and fight free radicals. I've been using this for over a month now and the results are really great. This is definitely brightening and my skins natural glow looks a lot better since I've been using this. My only issue with this isn't hydrating enough for me on its own but layered with a serum and moisturiser, it leaves my skin so soft and smooth. It has a light gel texture that absorbs quickly.
Touch In Sol Dematox Foaming Cleanser* | £12
Now this is a foaming cleanser but don't let that put you off this isn't stripping or drying at all! Touch in Sols patent-pending formula contains herb extracts that nourish and hydrate the skin. It's a rich cream cleanser that lightly foams up giving skin a thorough cleanse. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and smooth! It's free from silicone, Parabens and artificial colours too. Overall, I'm so impressed by how well this cleanses my skin but without leaving it dry or tight. I can't believe this is just £12 either!
So that's my high-end discoveries!
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
