6 Makeup Bag Staples I'm Currently Obsessed With

Switching out the products in my makeup bag is one of my favourite things to do. It's rare that I am loyal to a product for that long. But I have a few products that I just keep coming back to - I've tried to switch them out but I just can't seem to find products I love more.

3 Products That Have Wowed Me This Week

This post is sposored by BeautyFresh. However all opinions are my own.

I'm forever testing new beauty products, I'm not complaining I love it. I was recently gifted some products from Beauty Fresh, which is a new online store that specialise in Luxury beauty with discounted prices. They have a huge range of products from some amazing brands, definitely check them out.  I've been testing a few products for the site and I've been completely wowed by them. So here are my thoughts.

5 Amazing Setting Sprays

I remember a few years ago and the only setting sprays on the market in the UK were the Urban Decay ones, fast forward a few years and now nearly every brand has one. Including affordable brands. Today I wanted to share with you my current favourite 5.

Urban Decay All Nighter* | £24 (full size)

This is an oldie but a goodie! It promises to keep makeup looking fresh for up to 16 hours. Which is a pretty bold claim. I do really like this but I don't actually think it prolongs my makeup wear time. It does keep it fresher for longer - like it's been freshly applied. I do find this helps prevent my makeup from creasing and sinking into fine lines to. The mist on this is very fine and it dries pretty quickly to. I like how this doesn't alter the finish of makeup to. Overall, this is a great one.

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist* | £16

For keeping my makeup on longer this is the mist I reach for. Although I will say this smells a little like old ladies but this disappears once it has dried. This has so many good skincare ingredients to, such as Green Tea and Niacinamide! It's super hydrating. I also find this helps my makeup mesh a bit with my skin and takes away that powdery look that some powders leave behind. I love this as a mid morning pick me up to, it's just feels so nice and refreshing on the skin.

Cover FX Dewy Setting Spray* | £23

This dewy setting spray from Cover FX literally ticks all the boxes! This is described as dewy but I don't think this alters the finish of my makeup that much, it does give it more of a luminous finish but I wouldn't say dewy. Anyway that aside this is brilliant. It really does keep my makeup longer and keeps it looking fresh while, melting everything into the skin a bit better. The mist on this is so fine, you can't really even feel this touching the skin! It stops my makeup sinking into fine lines and creasing. It's also worth noting that this is alcohol free.

Primark Illuminating Setting Spray | £4

This is the newest addition to my collection and one that's become a staple! It's an illumination one that has a super fine shimmer to it that gives the skin a veil of radiance. It doesn't look over the top or glittery though. In terms of setting makeup this really does, you can almost feel it drying everything into place. But not in a way that you've sprayed hairspray on your face or anything. This does also need a good shake before applying. The mist isn't the finest I've ever come across but for just £4 this is definitely one to check out. There's also a matte version that I'm currently testing, I'll keep you updated on it.

Milani Make it Last Setting Spray | £13

Last but not least I have my longstanding favourite from Milani. For makeup staying power this is brilliant. It really helps to lock my makeup in place and keeps it looking fresh all day! it also makes all my makeup look a little more flawless and blended. This is like MAC Fix+ in terms of finish but has the benefits of keeping my makeup in place. The mist is super fine and it doesn't drown my face. It's a brilliant setting spray that I can't recommend enough.

Have you tried any of these? What's your favourite setting spray?

Other brands have cottoned on that so many people love this concealer and have launched their version of it. I've been testing them and I'm ready to report back.

REVIEW: Huda Easy Bake Powder

I think it's safe to say Huda Beauty is the queen of online beauty. The online beauty community went crazy when she launched her own makeup line. 6 Tips to Boost Instagram Growth & Engagement

Instagram is hands down my favourite social media platform. Despite the algorithm and the fact it frustrates the hell out of me. I just love looking at all the stunning photos and creating content on there. I know everyone's been struggling with Instagram recently so here are a few of my tips for growing on the platform.

4 Mascaras That Tick All the Boxes

I'm not going to lie it's really hard for me to get excited about mascaras. They either work or they don't. I don't overly care about the packaging. It's just one of those meh beauty products. But 100% essential and I couldn't be without it! And I realised I don't really talk about mascara so here are a few of my favourites that tick all the boxes. For me I like a mascara to be lengthening, volumising but not clumpy and last well but still be easy to remove.

My Ultimate Recommendations To Check Out From Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution launch products like there's no tomorrow. Which isn't a bad thing but I do find it hard to keep up. I do try to make an order every now and again. They're a super affordable brand so you get a lot for your money. That being said I do find some of their products aren't great and you'll probably be better off paying a bit extra. So today I have a little edit of the best stuff I've tried from the brand.

Best In Beauty | June

A new month means a new Best in Beauty! June was a bit of a weird month for me, I don't really feel like I tried many new products and I kind of stuck with what I know in terms of products. So I'm sorry if this is repetitive. But at least you know I genuinely love these products.

3 Tips to get the most of your Skincare

Having the right skincare is all well and good but if you're not using it properly you might not be getting the most out of it. And for me when I spend £30+ on something I expect good results! I've learned a few tips on the way that have really helped my skincare perform at its best. So today I thought I'd share them with you.

Heat Proof Makeup

The weather has been so hot in the UK recently and shows no signs of stopping. Heat and makeup aren't the best mix and come lunch time I don't want to be looking like an oily, shiny mess. And I know some people will be heading off on their summer holidays soon so I thought it was the perfect time to share my heat proof picks.

A Game Changer from Verso

Verso is one of my favourite skincare brands. Everything I've tried so far has delivered real results. So I'm super excited to share with my latest addition to the collection which is this Enzyme Peel Mask.

Cohorted Beauty Box

Cohorted Beauty Box is definitely a beauty box I can get behind. They're not like your regular beauty subscription where you get a bunch of unsuitable samples. Cohorted Beauty Box* is a luxury beauty box with carefully curated products that are always more than double the value of the subscription itself! And most of the time the products are full sized or very generous samples. Junes addition is definitely one to check out. Here's why. Spoilers ahead...

Warming Bronzers That Are Perfect For Summer

Luckily times have changed and there are so many good ones available so I thought I'd share my thoughts on my favourite ones.

My Favourite Skincare Discoveries Of The Year So Far.

Last week I brought you my favourite makeup discoveries and today I'm back with my favourite skincare discoveries. I feel like the year so far has been pretty exciting for me in terms of skincare and i discovered some real gems that have made a huge difference with my skin. Here they are:

Ingredient 101- Rose

Rose has been a long standing ingredient in skincare. Brands have been using it using for years and with good reason, more on that to come! With all the new ingredients that are being used I feel like Rose has been pushed down the list. So today I thought I'd talk about the benefits and my favourite skincare picks that contain it.

5 Amazing Affordable Foundations and 5 that Aren't

Ahh affordable foundations, where do I start? I mean, some can be really good. Others can be really bad. So today I wanted to share some that are amazing and some aren't. I've tried to keep this to foundations I don't often talk about. Regular readers will know how much I love my LA HD Illuminate and my Milani 2in1 but today here are few that go under the radar.

My Glowing Skincare Routine (Evening)

I talk a lot about skincare, my favourite skincare and so many roundups of skincare but I rarely ever share my actual routine. And I think it's important too because I find it's a combination of products that work well rather than one. Today I'm just keeping to my evening skincare. Keep an eye out for my morning routine soon.

My Favourite Makeup Discoveries of the Year So Far

How are we half way through the year already? It feels like yesterday I was writing christmas posts. But here we are. If you hadn't guessed by the title this will be the best makeup discoveries I've made so far. I have a skincare one coming up to so keep your eyes peeled for that. without further ado.

The Best Overnight Skincare Acids

Acids and AHAs are miracle workers. I've spoken in depth about the benefits of AHA loads (see this post) so I won't go into too much detail. But they essentially dissolve the glue that holds dead cells together, causing them to shed and newer brighter, more refined skin is revealed. I love a good skincare acid. And ones that work overnight have a brilliant effect. I've tried quite a few but I've whittled down my favourites so here they are.

5 Products For An All Over Summer Glow

If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know how much I love a good glow. Highlighters, illuminators, oils - I'll take them all! The summer is the perfect time to rock a glow, even on the body. So today I wanted to share with you my favourite products for a summer glow.

The Primer

I have dehydrated skin so skin prep is such an important step for me. I also find primers a great way of adding glow to the skin, especially if you like satin or matte foundations. My favourite illuminating primer at the moment is the NYX Liquid Illuminator | £8 | Now this is a bit of a strange product (in a good way) because this is illuminating but it dries down, giving the skin a really smooth finish, but it still gives the skin a luminous look. I actually find this helps keep my makeup in place longer to. This does look a little tin man-ish when first applied to the skin, but with foundation over the top it looks beautiful. Really like the skin is lit from with in.

The Foundation

For me a dewy foundation is important when going for a summer glow kind of look. But if you're on the more oily side you might want to opt for something more mattifying. My favourite dewy foundation ever has to be the LA Girl Pro coverage HD Foundation | £10 | It gives me the most incredible glowing skin. But not one that's over the top or turns super oily come lunch time. This also has amazing coverage, it pretty much covers everything I want it to, which I find really impressive for a dewy foundation. This also lasts all day on me too without any issues! It's the perfect summer foundation.

The Bronzer

No summer glow is complete without a sun-kissed, bronzed look to the skin. I've been loving the NYX No makeup Finishing Powder | £10 | Now this is a setting powder but I brought the shade Dark Deep to use as a bronzer and it works amazingly! Because it's not as pigmented as a regular bronzer it's really easy to build up, without going over the top. The finish is lovely, it has a satin finish that has a slight sheen to it. It layers perfectly with all my other base products to. It's finely milled formula means this never looks powderey or natural. It's a great bronzer.

The Highlighter

I love a highlighter no matter what time of year it is but there's something about summer that makes me want to cover my whole face in the stuff! I don't but if it were fashionable I totally would. The Anastasia Beverly X Amrezy Highlighter | £29  | Is the most perfect highlighter I've come across in a long time. It gives the cheek bones a lovely sheen that's not over the top but still can be seen. The formula is so butterery, this doesn't even feel like a powder. It translates beautifully onto the face. It is a golden, champagne tone that would be suitable for most skin tones.

The All over Glow

Why stop at a glowing face? I'm loving adding a glow to my body too. Bronzing body oils are really having a moment in the beauty industry. I've only tried the CYO Bronzing body oil | £7 | But I'm obsessed with this stuff. This does have an oily consistency that blends into the skin so easily. It does give it a bronzed look to it and a beautiful sheen. Once this has been blending in it doesn't feel oily or slippery on the skin. Nor does it transfer on to clothes. I don't think this is water proof so it may not be great for the beach but for anything else this is a summer essential.

There are my 5 products for a summer glow.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...

Affordable Beauty Discoveries

I've been pretty strapped for cash recently so the drugstore / affordable products has been how I've been getting my beauty fix. I've actually found some really good, affordable gems that I'm excited to share with you.

3 Truly Flawless Bases

I've been really into super full coverage, flawless foundations recently. And with the weather being so hot I find these types bases last a bit longer. They're also perfect for nights out or special events. So today I just wanted to share them with guys.

Light Moisturisers That Are Super Hydrating But Wont Leave You Oily.

The warm weather has been coming here in the UK and hopefully it will be here to stay. There's only one problem with the warm weather, my skin can turn super oily looking very quickly. Even though I have dehydrated skin this is an issue in the summer. And my love for a super dewy finish mixed with the heat can leave me looking like a melted wax doll. I tend to find opting for lighter moisturiser tends to help this issue. But because my skin is dehydrated I still need the hydration. It's a vicious circle! I have found a few that are light, hydrating and that don't leave me oily. So here they are.

High-end Beauty Discoveries

I didn't think I had that many high-end discoveries to share with you guys, until I sat down to write this post! It appears I actually have quite a bit. So here's the high-end beauty products I've discovered in the past month or so.

Best in Beauty | May

May actually seemed pretty long and it feels I've been waiting forever to publish this post! But anyway the end of May is in sight so here's the products I've been loving throughout the month.
