Tackling Dry and Dehydrated Skin

Regular readers will know my struggle with dry / dehydrated skin, and over the years I've tried a lot of products to help combat this issue.  I've teamed up with Cult Beauty to share my favourite products that actually really work in helping my skin to look its very best! February is Cult beauty #skinCareMonth and they're celebrating 'real skin' with the #ThisIsSkin hashtag, offering the best skincare advice and best products! You can win a consultation with Cult Beauty advisers and your very own skincare regime. To enter, you have to follow @cultbeauty on Instagram and share an image to show your skincare concerns and talk about it in the caption using #ThisIsSkin, #SkinCareMonth and tagging @cultbeauty. Five winners will be announced at the end of February.  I also have a discount code so you can stock up on your favourite skincare products! You can get 15% off when you spend £20 with the code CBXLPB which is ending on 19/02/2018 (exclusions apply. See full terms and conditions here). So today I have my favourite products that have helped tackle my dry skin.

This cleansing balm has a bit of a cult status and for good reason! This is a rich balm that melts away makeup and impurities, leaving the skin so soft and clean but without feeling stripped at all! This balm in particular is a great option if you have dry / dehydrated skin because it's not drying at all. It's actually quite hydrating as cleansers go! It contains a range of great ingredients like Jasmine and Rose to help give dry skin back it's natural glow. As well as Vitamin E, which is a great ingredient to rebalance the skin. It's a great all round cleanser.

Layering hydrating products is another great way to ensure the skin gets enough hydration and keeps those dry patches at bay. So I like to use a hydrating toner, this offering from Indie Lee has quickly become a staple in my routine. It's a toner / essence hybrid that is packed full of skin loving ingredients. The main one being CoQ-10 which helps protect and repair the skin. It also contains Hyaluronic acid which is a great hydrating ingredient. I like to use this after cleansing and before my serum. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and definitely helps give it the hydration it needs.

I can't express how important a good serum is, especially if you have dry skin. My favourite one is this hydration serum from Verso. Not only does this contain the nourishing ingredients to plump and hydrate the skin but it also contains Niacinamide which is a powerful ingredient in helping the skins healing process. It can help the production of collagen, pore size and redness while protecting the skin from everyday environmental aggressors. The serum itself is silky smooth and melts into my skin, instantly adding hydration and taking away that dry tight feeling. I'm on my second bottle of the stuff and I've noticed a huge improvement in my skin. My dehydration lines look more plump and I've had less breakouts!

Another amazing product I've found that really helps keep my dry skin at bay is this night cream from Verso. Which contains the super ingredient Retinol. Retinol is one of the only clinically proven ingredients that can help reduce the signs of ageing! Not only that but it helps renew the skin, leaving it looking more radiant and glowing. Which this 100% does. I've been using this for well over a month but I saw results in just two days. My skin was much smoother and my dry flakey areas have gone. With continued use my skin looks way better and definitely less dry.

If you're an OG reader you will know how much I love this overnight treatment. It's a rich, nourishing treatment that I like to apply as the last step in my evening skincare routine. And the results in the morning speak for themselves. My skin is so much more plump and doesn't feel dry at all. I like to use 2-3 times a week or when my skin is feeling particularly dry or dehydrated.

Lastly I have this treatment from Peter Thomas Roth. This is an exfoliating rather than a hydrating one but exfoliating dry skin is great for removing any dry flakey areas. This mask uses AHAs to chemically lift away dead cells to reveal brighter, more refined and less dry skin. This is quite a strong AHA treatment and does sting a bit but that's to be expected. I found on me this works in around 5 minutes and after removing it my skin feels amazing. It feels so soft and much smoother!
