A few Drugstore Discoveries

I feel like the drugstores have been on it with there launches recently. I've been testing loads of drugstore finds and I'm ready to report back.

Makeup Revolution Fast Base Foundation | £5

Following the very successful launch of their concealer (see this post) they've launched a foundation. In a whopping 10 shades! I know this isn't many compared to Fenty or Huda but for a drugstore brand this is fab. The Fast Base Foundation is in a stick form, which is super creamy and so pigmented. You really don't need a lot of pressure to get the payoff. It blends so easily and quickly. I'd say the finish is more on the dewy side, which I love. But if you're oily you may need a good primer and setting powder. I do find the lasting powder isn't the best with this though, but because it's so easy to apply and touch up it doesn't bother me too much. I picked up Two shades, F10 and F14. F14 is a dark colour, the website says it's for those with a dark skintone and cool under tones. I love this for contouring. It gives a really nice natural, sculpted look. F10 is a little too dark for me but I can make it work. Tam Beauty claim this is subtle for medium skin tones, with a Golden undertone. Overall, I do really like this foundation. For just £5 you really can't find fault it.

Makeup Revolution Liners | £2.50

I'm already a huge fan of the Makeup Revolution liners that come in their lip kits so I was super excited when I see these renaissance ones. I picked up Two shades, Vow and Chauffeur. Chauffeur is the perfect nude colour, that's not too Pink nor too Brown. Vow is more of a warm toned Terracotta shade. Both of these are so creamy and pigmented! They don't tug or pull the lips at all. They are so pigmented you could actually wear these alone. All their lip products apply really well over the top. And they are so long lasting. For just £2.50 these are an absolute steal.

Makeup Revolution Baking Oil | £6

I'm all about oils as a makeup primer at the moment. This oil is rich in hydrating oils to give the skin a silky smooth feel. I have dehydrated skin so these sounded right up my street. But I'm sad to report I don't love this. For me it's just too oily, i can't even believe I'm saying this! But it just gives my foundation and base a super shiny, oily look. I'm all for dewy and glowy but this is just too much. The directions say that the baking is to be used after to lock it in place but baking just doesn't work for me. Maybe if you have super dry skin you would like this.

Superdrug Vitamin C Cleanser* | £4.99

I've not heard many people talk about this brand so I'm super excited to share this. This is a scrub cleanser infused with Orange peel and Vitamin C to remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin. I've been loving this. The scrub itself isn't too abrasive on the skin and particles remove easily. And this is definitely brightens my skin. After one use I could see a difference. It leaves my skin so smooth as well. I can't believe how cheap this is either. I really can't recommend it enough.

Superdrug Vitamin C Gel Moisturiser* | £4.99

Alongside the cleanser I've also been testing this moisturiser from the same line. It has all the brightening properties of Vitamin C alongside hydrating ingredients. It has a a super light gel consistency to absorb into the skin instantly, giving it an instantly smooth effect. On it's own this isn't hydrating enough for my dehydrated skin but paired with a good serum and oil this is great. I think oily skins would really love this because it's not slippery or oily on the face at all. It works really well under makeup too. This definitely gives my skin a bit of radiance too.

L'oreal Sugar Clear Kiwi Scrub | £9.99

I've been seeing these masks all over Instagram and I love the Nourish one (here) so I wanted pick this one up. And I love it. It contains Kiwi Seeds and fine Sugars to deeply clean the skin, help blackheads and reduce pore size, It can even be used on the lips. This is not the scrubber that I was expecting but that's fine. This really does leave my skin feeling clean, smooth and fresh. It also scrubs all the dead skin off my lips! Plus this smells amazing.

Maybelline Temptation Mascara* | £8.99

Aside from Lash Sensational I don't typically like Maybelline mascaras but recently I've been really enjoying them. This one included. It has a bristle brush that adds a lot of volume and length. It doesn't flake or smudge on me either. There's nothing not to like about this.

There's a few drugstore discoveries I've made recently.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
