30 is quickly creeping up on me and while I'm all for growing old gracefully I want to fight off those fine lines and wrinkles for as long as possible. I've been taking some extra steps to ensure my skin is looking as best as possible. So this is how I'm upping my anti ageing game.
Retinol
Lots and lots of Retinols! Also known as Vitamin A, Retinol is a powerful ingredient for keeping fine lines away. It encourages the skin to renew itself and is one of the only ingredients proven to reduce the signs of ageing! The skin renew revels fresher, smoother skin while preventing fine lines and wrinkles. Skincare containing this wonder ingredient is pretty much available everywhere. From affordable options from The Ordinary to higher end versions. My current favourite is the Verso Night Cream with Retinol 8 | £95 | Review | The results I have seen from this cream are nothing sort of dramatic! From the first use I woke up to super soft, smooth skin. This also leaves my skin with a natural, healthy glow. I've been using this for a few months and my skin just keeps getting better. My breakouts are less, and my skin just looks more plump overall. I'm hoping with continued use this will keep those fine lines away!
Eye Creams
The eyes are the first places to show signs of ageing. So keeping them hydrated is essential. I've been really enjoying the Verso Super Eye Serum* | £79 | Which also contains Retinol. This has really helped plump my under eyes. And leave them really smooth and hydrated! I've been using this AM /PM and it works brilliantly in both routines. I love how this absorbs instantly so it doesn't interfere with my makeup application.
Hydration
I have dehydrated skin so I'm pretty good at adding hydration. But to ensure my skin doesn't show signs of ageing I've been adding hydration whenever possible. In every form, from drinking water to face masks! Here are a few of my favourite hydration heroes:
Indie Lee Q10 Toner | £30 | Review
I'm really surprised at how much this toner actually makes a difference to the hydration levels in my skin. I've been using this morning and night to give my skin an extra layer of hydration. And this really does help. On days when I don't use this my skin just doesn't feel as soft as when I do.
Klairs Rich Moist Serum* | $22 | This serum is brilliant at adding hydration. It has a light, fast absorbing texture that instantly leaves my skin feeling hydrated. It works really well with the other products in my routine. This definitely helps plump my skin and leaves it so soft.
Saturday Skin Sheet Masks * | £23 (For 5)
Sheet masks are a great way of giving the skin an intense hit of hydration. My current favourites are these ones from Saturday. I love the fit of these, they fit my face really well, and really help lock in the serum. I like to leave this on for around 20 minutes. After removing my skin feels so smooth, fine lines looked more plump and over all my skin is hydrated.
Allies of Skin Promise Keeper | £110
This is aimed at blemish prone skin but I find this super hydrating! It also uses AHA and enzymes to lift away dead cells to keep the skin clear, fresh and radiant looking. It's a sleeping mask and in the morning my skin looks fresh, glowing and feels really soft.
Antioxidants
I've been incorporating antioxidants into my routine as these are essential for fighting free radicals that can cause premature ageing. My current favourite one is the Verso Antioxidant*| £79 | It has a light silky texture that absorbs into the skin almost immediately. It works well in combination with my other skincare products. I think this is definitely helped to keep my skin looking clear and bright.
There are the extra measures I'm taking to up my anti ageing game.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
