The weather has been so hot in the UK recently and shows no signs of stopping. Heat and makeup aren't the best mix and come lunch time I don't want to be looking like an oily, shiny mess. And I know some people will be heading off on their summer holidays soon so I thought it was the perfect time to share my heat proof picks.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer | £22
For a heat proof concealer I haven't find one better than this. Plus this has amazing full coverage, that covers everything from blemishes to dark circles. I swear it doesn't matter what conditions you're in this stuff does not budge, nor does it go cakey or crease. It literally stays looking perfect all day.
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue | £28 (Currently on offer for £22 here)
I really struggle to find a light weight base that actually lasts in the heat. I find they tend to disappear on my skin when it's hot. But I don't want to wear a super heavy full coverage foundation. Luckily the complexion rescue is a light weight base I know I can rely on. The coverage is actually pretty decent to. It gives my a skin a uniform look without feeling like a mask or looking heavy. The formula is also really hydrating but doesn't turn shiny in the heat, plus it lasts all day. It's the perfect summer base.
Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Powder | £33
I was torn between this and my trusty RCMA Powder but I included this one because it's perfect for chucking in my hand bag, to eliminate any shine or oiliness throughout the day. This mattyfies the skin but not in a really matte, unnatural way. I also love this because it's so blurring and makes my fine lines look way better. You can also keep reapplying this because it never looks cakey or heavy on the skin.
Tarte Bronzer | £25
Patchy bronzer is never a good look and this one from Tarte really stands the test of time! It actually claims to be water proof. I don't know about that but this is very long lasting. The shade Hotel Heiress is the perfect sun-kissed, bronze on me. The formula is so easy to apply. I take a large fluffy brush and apply to the areas of the face the sun would naturally hit and I'm good to go.
L'oreal Baby Roll Mascara | £7.99
Like bronzer I think mascara is one of the worst things that can go wrong if your makeup starts melting! I don't tend to like waterproof formulas either. This mascara though never smudges, flakes or budges no matter what the conditions. Plus this gives me amazing length and volume. The formula is also super Black.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray* | £10
Finally to ensure my base really isn't budging this setting spray really does seal the deal. Now I don't actually find this setting spray extends my makeup wear time but it keeps it looking fresher for longer. So in the heat when I look like a sweaty mess this stops that happening for an extra few hours. The mist is also super fine and really refreshing. I like to also use this as a skin pick me up throughout the day.
So there's a few of my heat proof makeup picks. I didn't include brow, lip products or eyeshadow because I don't really have an issue with those lasting.
