My Favourite Makeup Discoveries of the Year So Far

How are we half way through the year already? It feels like yesterday I was writing christmas posts. But here we are. If you hadn't guessed by the title this will be the best makeup discoveries I've made so far. I have a skincare one coming up to so keep your eyes peeled for that. without further ado.

Anastasia Beverly Hills X Amrezy Highlighter | £29 | REVIEW

I feel like I've raved about this highlighter to death but I couldn't not feature it. It's actually probably my favourite launch of the year so far! This highlighter has the butteriest, most softest formula. It's kind of a gel / powder that doesn't feel like a powder at all. It applies beautifully to the face, without any shimmer, chunkiness and it doesn't exaggerate any problem areas. It's really amazing, I really can't recommend it enough.

Pixi Lash Primer | £15 | REVIEW

I've never really got on board with the lash primer thing, until I tried this and I was completely blown away. It can be used before mascara to give the lashes length and volume which this really does. Or can be used alone. The formula glides over the lashes without clumping or giving lashes that spider leg appearance. It has a curved plastic want applicator which is really easy to use and catches every lash, even the tiny inner corner ones. It lasts all day to.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 | £25 | REVIEW

Another mascara which I discovered this year is this offering from Charlotte Tilbury. She reformulated her legendary lashes, which I actually discovered this year too and I loved the effect it had on my lashes but I did find it smudged a little. The new offering though is just as great as the last, it adds length and volume, without clumping but this doesn't smudge! It has quite a large bristle wand applicator which I don't tend to like but this one works brilliantly.

Makeup Forever Stick Foundation | £31 | REVIEW

I feel like I discovered this foundation last year but I'm going to feature it anyway. Stick foundations are really having a moment and this is one of my favourites. The formula is so light weight, easy to blend and build up if needed. I'd say the coverage is medium. But it's the finish that is the wow factor for me. It gives my skin a really healthy glow to it, that's not oily looking. It doesn't sink into my fine lines or pores either. My only issue with this is the wear time, it just doesn't last very long on me. With a good setting powder it does last a little longer, but I would still like it last a little longer. But because this is so easy to apply and blend I can see past it.

Feral Liquid Lipstick* | £14.95 | REVIEW

Feral is a brand I hadn't heard of this year until I was kindly sent a few of their liquid lipsticks to try. And the formula is up there with the like of Huda and Jeffree Star. It's so pigmented, applies with ease, dries down completely matte, lasts for a good few hours and more importantly isn't drying. The shade Skin Tight is my favourite. It's a really pretty creamy nude colour. That's not to nude it looks like concealer.

NYX Mirco Brow Pencil | £9

I can't believe I've only just discovered this brow pencil! It's quickly stolen the crown of my favourite brow product to date! It has a super fine tip that makes it really easy to mimic brow hairs. The formula applies not to waxy nor to soft, it's perfect. It doesn't smudge either. It even has a spooley at one end to.

Although, these are favourite discoveries this year so far I wanted to give some honourable mentions to the products that are still my favourites but I didn't discover them this year. Make sure you check out the REVIEW links for more details.

Touch in Sol No Poreblem Primer | £15 | REVIEW

This is a brilliant pore blurring, makeup extending primer, that gives my skin a velvety smooth base and makes makeup application so easy.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Powder | £33 | REVIEW

The best powder I've discovered for my dry skin. It's not drying at all! It never looks powderey and helps to blur my pores.

Huda Beauty Dessert Dusk Palette | £56 | REVIEW

Huda eyeshadow formula is simply brilliant! All the shadows blend so easily and have amazing pigmentation. It's actually one of my favourite formulas!

NYX Butter Gloss | £5.50 | REVIEW

I'm a huge lover of glosses and the butter glosses are by far my favourite formulas out there. They're non sticky, non gloopy and really feel like butter on the lips. The fact they're so cheap just makes it even better!

There you have my favourite beauty discoveries of the year so far.
