I feel like I'm a bit late to do a Best in Beauty for September and some of the products I wanted to talk about I haven't actually been using long enough to feature them in a monthly favourites so I just thought I'd feature them here. Without further ado here are 5 products that wowed me this week.
Philip Kingsly Elasticizer* | £21
Where has this stuff been all my life? I can't believe it's taken me so long to try this cult product. It's a pre shampoo treatment that injects a cocktail of potent ingredients to promote elasticity, shine and help hair to be more manageable. From the first use I saw a huge improvement in my hair. It was so soft, shiny and not as frizzy as it normally is. I've been using this every time I wash my hair and I really have seen an improvement in it's elasticity - it doesn't seem to break as easily.
Hourglass Strobe Highlighter | £22 travel size
I've wanted to try Hourglasses highlighters for ages but they certainly aren't cheap. I noticed Cult Beauty had some mini versions so I picked one up in the shade Brilliant Strobe Light. I can safely say these are well worth the money! This isn't a high shine, reflective highlighter, it's more on the natural side but it still catches the light and gives the face some luminosity. The powder is fine and there isn't anything glittery about this. I found that some highlighters can emphasise the texture and pores I have on my cheeks but this doesn't at all, it almost blurs them. It's brilliant. I really can't recommend it enough.
Hourglass Bronzer | £22 travel size
Like the highlighter I noticed Cult Beauty had mini versions of the bronzer, which I've wanted to try for ages! And I'm pleased to say this didn't disappoint! I got the shade Radiant Bronze which gives the skin a beautiful warmth to it. The powder applies so easily and seamlessly to the cheeks. The formula is so finely milled it meshes with the skin and base products so naturally. This isn't overly pigmented and does take some building, which I actually prefer in my bronzer! It also gives the skin a subtle radiance, in a natural healthy way. When it comes to powder formulas Hourglass have the formula down!
Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream | £42
I have spoken about how dry my skin has been on here recently loads, so I decided to invest in some new skincare. I'd heard good things about this Cloud Cream and from the first use my skin instantly felt better. This moisturiser is packed with Hyluronic acid which can hold up to 1000x times it's weight in water, alongside skin plumping Ceramides. It's very aptly named because the cream itself is light and fluffy but still instantly moisturising. My skin hasn't felt as dry since I've been using this. I've been using AM / PM. It works really well under makeup to. I love it so much I've just ordered the rest of the cloud range, so keep your eyes peeled for more reviews on the range.
Huda Beauty Demi Matte Liquid lipstick | £18
I picked this up on a bit of a whim and I wasn't really sure what to expect but the shade Day Slayer has become my go to everyday lip shade. These apply like a gloss but dry down to satin finish. They are a little sheerer than regular liquid lipstick but I prefer that, it makes the maintenance of them so much easier! I do find it takes a little while to dry down but once it has it doesn't budge. They're not drying in the slightest either. My favourite shade Day Slayer is a pretty warm toned Brown nude. I'm so happy I've found long lasting, comfortable lip product.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?
Until next time...
