High-end Beauty Discoveries

It feels like ages since I've posted a Beauty Discoveries Post. I've been testing loads of products and I'm ready to share my thoughts on them. So let's jump straight in...

Hourglass Caution Mascara | £12 (Travel size)

I picked this up on a bit of a whim but I'm so glad I did because this mascara is amazing! I don't tend to love mascaras from the first use, it takes a few days for it to dry out then I can decide if I like it or not but this completely blew me away from the first use. It has a kind of bristle brush but the bristles are quite firm so it feels more like a plastic comb style wand. It catches every lash so easily. Giving them amazing length and a good amount of volume. But it isn't clumpy. I will say it dries quite quickly so if you like to build your mascaras you have to be quick. It holds the lashes in place all day to. It's a really amazing mascara.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer | £22 (travel size)

I'm having a bit of a moment for Hourglass, I'm obsessed with their powder formula at the moment. I've been eyeing up their bronzers for quite sometime and I'm not sure why I didn't buy one sooner because it's amazing. I got the shade Luminous Bronze Light which gives the face a lovely warm bronzed look. But the shade isn't to Orange or to cool. It also has a stunning luminous finish that makes my skin look healthy and alive. I really can't recommend this enough.

Becca Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation | £32

If anyone knows how to do glowing skin it's Becca! So it was only a matter of time before I brought this foundation! It claims to be a weightless blurring foundation. The formula contains blurring pigments which help improve the look of pores and imperfections. I've been really enjoying this foundation. It has a good medium coverage that really does make my skin look so much better. It has a really nice lit from within finish. That isn't to dewy and not quite satin, it looks like naturally luminous skin! It wears really well to!

Cover FX Power Play Foundation | £38

This foundation has been on my radar for quite some time. It has some amazing reviews and comes in 40 shades! I'm still on the fence about this though. With some primers I love this and with others I hate it. I do have dry skin and this is matte foundation so matte finish it does take a bit of extra work to make them look good on my skin. But sometimes this looks awful, it goes all cakey, patchy and just looks awful! But with my NYX Illuminating Primer this looks really nice. It has really full coverage. The formula is really watery and easy to blend but it sets really quick so you do have to work fast with it. I think if you have oily skin you would really like this because it almost has a powdery feel to it once it has set so I imagine it would be great at absorbing oils. Although, for me I'm not convinced this is worth the money considering the work I have to put it in to make it work.

NARS Bronzer | £30

NARS recently launched on Cult Beauty! They kindly sent me a package of goodies which included the famous Lagana Bronzer. Can you believe I've never tried this before? Well I have now and I can see what all the hype is about! The formula is so nice. It's really creamy, easy to blend and has amazing staying power. On me the shade is perfect for contouring. It's not to warm nor to cool. It's the perfect in between shade. It looks like natural shadows. It does also have a Gold shimmer to it but I don't find this translates on to the skin.  I'm really impressed with this.

Too Faced Dew You Foundation* | £27

I don't think I've been so excited by a foundation in a long time. Too Faced latest launch promises to have a dewy finish and be full coverage. Two things I love in a foundation. The finish is definitely dewy but not in an oily, sweaty way! The coverage is very good to, it's not as full as some foundations I've tried but it is really good, it covers everything I want it to. The formula is light, creamy and so easy to blend. This isn't the most long wearing foundation I've come across but it lasts a good 6 hours before it starts to disappear around my chin. Overall, though I really like this!

Too Faced Dew You Setting Mist* | £25

Alongside the Dew You foundation I've been testing the setting spray. Which also promises to give the skin a dewy finish. It smells amazing and the mist is super fine. It has shimmer particles in it that gives the skin a luminous veil. You do have to shake this really well though or you do end up with chunks of shimmer on your face! It does set my makeup nicely and helps lock it in place for a little bit longer.

There's a few high end discoveries I've made recently.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
