The Best Makeup Discoveries of the Year

How are we just a few days away from the end of the year?? It has literally flown by. In terms of beauty it has been a good one. I have made so many amazing discoveries and there has been so many exciting new launches. So here are a few standout products:

Maybelline 24hr Super Stay Foundation | £9.99

I mentioned this foundation loads recently but it really is a good one. And I actually prefer it to some high-end ones. It has amazing full coverage and gives my skin a super perfected look, without looking cakey or un natural. It has a satin finish that can be made either more matte or dewy depending on you preference. It wears all well on me without breaking down at all, it's basically perfect when it comes to removing it. It doesn't cling to any dry patches or exaggerate any problem areas. It's such a good foundation.

Jouer Concealer | £16

I discovered this towards the latter end of the year but it has quickly become a staple in my routine. It has incredible full coverage, in a light creamy formula that doesn't look heavy on the skin. I love this for covering my dark circles. It really hides them. Once this sets down it doesn't budge, fade or flake. It is really similar to Shape Tape but cheaper and easier to get in the UK!

Guerlian Bronzer* | £34.99

This is such a bujee bronzer but one worth investing in. First of all the shade is perfect, it gives the skin the perfect amount of warmth without being Orange. It has a slight Red undertone that gives the skin a natural looking, sunkissed glow. This doesn't have a satin finish but it isn't shimmery it's somewhere in between. It gives the skin a lit from within, healthy glow. And I'm pretty sure this blurs my pores and just overall makes my skin look better. The formula is butter soft and this isn't to pigmented which makes it easier to build up and get the perfect amount of bronzy-ness.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Filter | £30

My standout primer of the year goes to the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Filter. This stuff is like good skin in a bottle. It has light reflecting bluring pigments that really gives the skin a perfected look. It can be used alone, as a primer or a highlighter over foundation. It has a tiny bit of coverage so if you like a lighter coverage this would be the perfect base. I like a little more coverage so I love it as a primer. Foundation applies so well over the top. It also gives my skin a lovely radiance to it. It's a fab little product.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Bronzer | £29

Another bronzer that I have used constantly since I got it is this matte one from ABH. I use this one for countouring rather than adding warmth to the face. The shade Tawny is the perfect contour shade for me. It's not to warm nor to cool. It never applies patchy and works well over every foundation I've tried this with. The formula is really soft and applies to the face really easily. I've had no issue with wear time either. I really can't recommend it enough.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter | £29

Highlighter was actually pretty easy for me, this Amrezy one is by far the best one I've discovered this year! It has such a unique formula, it's almost like a gel powder formula. To swatch is doesn't feel powdery at all - it's so buttery soft. It applies beautifully to the face, it's not chunky or glittery and it doesn't empathise any problem areas. The shade is the perfect balance between Gold and Champagne. It is actually a pretty universal shade.

Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette | £25

There have been so many eyeshadow launches this year it's been hard to keep up. My favourite though is this mini palette from Huda. It contains 9 warmed toned Brown shades, 8 of which are matte and one shimmer. The formula of Huda shadows is incredible. They're so easy to blend while really packing a punch in terms of pigmentation. This little palette can create everyday looks or something more bold.

Huda Beauty Lip Contour | £16

This lip pencil in the shade Trendsetter is also one of my favourite discoveries of the year. And I've been pretty much wearing this alone for the past few months. The shade itself is described as the perfect 90s nude colour. I'd say it's a little more rosy hued though. On my skin tone its also slightly bolder than a nude but not like a statement lip. It's just perfect. The formula is so creamy to, it doesn't tug or pull on the lips. I don't have a bad thing to say about it.

Huda Beauty Demi Matte Lipstick | ££18

These are so under rated! They have quite a unique formula, it applies like a pigmented gloss but dries down to a demi matte finish, that is really long lasting and so comfortable on the lips. The formula is so light on the lips you can barely feel it. I have a few shades but my favourite is Day Slayer which is a really pretty Brown toned nude.

So there's a few of my favourite makeup discoveries of the year. Keep your eyes peeled for my favourite skincare discoveries.

Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts?

Until next time...
